Primordial Villain with a Slave Harem
Chapter 679 - 679: Invaded by a Lazy MonsterWe rushed to the scene, and it was my time to sigh defeatedly.
I knew it was a possibility, but…
“Lady Yoruha, Lady Celeste. You honor my home with your presence, though I must admit, I wasn’t prepared to receive such distinguished guests. Might I know the reason behind your visit?”
The five elven sentries flinched at my words, sensing a severe lack of hostility in my tone. Slowly, they lowered their bows, no longer threatening my uninvited guests. Their wary eyes darted between me and the two women, uncertainty lingered in their stances. I could guess where their reservations came from: Yoruha simply oozed power and danger by her mere presence, and she was standing right next to the Geim, the sacred creature they swore to protect with their lives.
They were deathly worried she might harm it. The elves understood by instinct that a single thought from this monster would be more than enough to kill this defenseless Geim. Without awakening, it could not protect itself, and neither was its body sturdy enough to shrug off attacks from this surely level 70+ entity.
Yoruha sent me a knowing sidelong glance. Her lips curled into a playful smirk that failed to mask the strong hint of irritation in her crimson eyes.
“So you do know how to act properly, hmm?” Her voice was smooth as if she were conducting a friendly conversation yet laced with a very sharp undertone. “After you opportunistically used my deep slumber to make a run for it, I could have mistaken you for a boor, an ill-bred man severely lacking in gentlemanly traits.”
It wasn’t hard to understand she wasn’t pleased. Not in the slightest. Yoruha seemed to greatly enjoy resting in my lap, but I used the first opportunity I found to have Celeste remove this ancient monster from my near vicinity and even teleported a whole country away a few minutes later.
I met Yoruha’s sharp gaze with a calm nod of my head, keeping my tone even and respectful.
“A misunderstanding, Lady Yoruha. It was never my intention to offend. On the contrary, I was honored to act as your resting place. Had I known you would take my departure as discourteous, I would have remained in place, no matter how long your slumber lasted.”
There was no arrogance in my voice, no jest or sarcasm, just a carefully measured respect for her person. I might’ve hated acting like this, but even I knew when to fall in line. Her being here and having a displeased mood was akin to having a monster we have no chance of defeating invade my home. As such, no matter how much I disliked acting subservient, I couldn’t afford to provoke someone of her caliber. Even if she was teasing, her displeasure was real, and I had no desire to test the limits of her patience.
She smiled amicably, “Good. You may rejoice, for you’ve been granted the honor of serving as my pillow once more.”
I returned the gesture with a wry smile of my own. “I’m forever grateful, Lady Yoruha.”
“Might I ask how you found us, Lady Yoruha?” It was Kitsara who decided to gather the bravery required to speak up.
“Hmm? Oh, that?” the midnight black-haired beauty of a monster mused before glancing at Celeste and yawning lazily.
The blonde maid gave a small, understanding nod to her master before venturing to explain. “Before we parted ways, Lady Yoruha left a trace of her essence woven into your presence. It was an illusion-based tracking spell that latched onto your very being. It’s subtle, nearly undetectable unless one is attuned to illusions at a very high level. It took a few hours for my lady to awaken from her peaceful slumber. Once she did, we gathered our belongings and followed the signal.”
So no matter how far I went, these pests would’ve found me… Dear Goddess, just what wrong have I done to deserve these walking calamities barging into my home?
I’ve been a good boy.
I had to sigh inwardly. I feared something like this might happen.
The fact she was able to cast a spell without my noticing could only mean she cast it silently… My knowledge of silence casting was that only a select few races had the innate capability to do so, but even then, it only manifested in a few exemplary members of said races who managed to gain a deep affinity and mastery over their class. Not even most primordials could cast spells silently.
My theory of Yoruha’s giant kitsune-like form being her true body was proving to be more and more likely. After unlocking all nine tails, she shed her mortal foxkin body, becoming a different race that had the required capacity to unlock silent casting.
“Thank you for the explanation, Lady Celeste,” Lucille replied warmly, perfectly displaying honest gratitude. The blonde beauty simply nodded once again in response. She was a serious woman lacking in emotional expression thus far.
*Sniff* *Sniff*
“I knew this creature reminded me of something…” Yoruha muttered while observing the Geim, completely disconnected from our conversation with her maid.
In the next moment, Yoruha’s form shimmered as her sexy foxkin body dissolved into a wave of midnight mist. The dark vapor coiled around for a moment before expanding, reshaping itself into a towering, ethereal figure. When the mist settled, there she stood, in the glory of her (theorized) true form.
She was enormous just as I remembered, her height in this form was now rivaling the slumbering tree entity.
<How beautiful…> Sylvaris exclaimed with wonderment, she wasn’t there when Yoruha transformed back during the summit. <I’ve never seen anything like this, but I heard many elven legends about Yoruha the Nine-Tailed Sorceress. Our records don’t give justice to the sheer existence of this mythical being.>
<She’s one of the strongest people in the continent…> Kitsara replied with a tone full of marvel. It wasn’t hard to guess she idolized this woman. <Lady Yoruha is so ancient our oldest history books are younger than her… She was mentioned by name in the first official royal textbook of the foxkin people, which is a hundred thousand years old.>
*Sniff. Sniff.*
Yoruha inhaled deeply before exhaling in amusement.
“Oh, yes. I had one of these in my garden a couple of ten thousand years ago… But then I fell asleep for a few centuries, forgetting to take care of it. It died.”
For a brief moment, an eerie silence followed her casual admission.
Then…
<This deplorable wench dares!!> Sylvaris cursed furiously. Her hands itched, being dangerously close to casting a few offensive Mooncaller spells.
It was the first time I had ever heard this woman outright curse. She might’ve been displeased with Seraphiel’s behavior on many occasions, but she retained the vocabulary of a noble elven lady even while arguing with her.
I watched with wry amusement, noting she wasn’t alone: the five elven sentries trembled in sync, visibly itching to let loose an arrow into the giant fox’s skull.
The only elf who remained unfazed was Seraphiel. Then again, she was kind of a heretic compared to most elves. She didn’t even believe in Luminara and the Eternal Forest before I brought the news back that she was my new mommy.
As for Yoruha’s statement, it was plain ridiculous. This Geim’s parent lived in an underground cave that was full of stone. It had to send a long root into the ground to find some semblance of nutrients, and it had no access to sunlight. Although it might’ve been severely malnourished and, according to its words, not even close to reaching its full size as a result, it was not on the brink of death even in those conditions.
These beings weren’t fragile house plants that would just dry up and die if you forgot to water them. They were incredibly hardy.
Not bothered by the thick tension and extreme hostility aimed at her person, Yoruha continued observing. “Hmm… It’s very young, only a few months old, yet it has grown so much already. You’ve planted it in ideal conditions, but that isn’t all…”
She glanced between me and the Geim numerous times, snout raised, sniffing on repeat.
Then, she decreed with an entirely unimpressed tone, “I smell you on the Geim.”
<Fuck!> My beautiful samurai let a very unladylike curse escape her delicate lips. We were in grave trouble right now.
