109 The True Queen's Gambit
"My preparations are complete. Let's start the match."
After saying those words, Allen placed his hand on the d2 pawn and moved it to d4.
When Allen made the first move, an enormous system-like status screen appeared above the sky which reflected what was the current state of the chessboard.
Its purpose seemed to be for showing Allen and Carrion's classmates about their chess match since their classmates were several meters away from the two of them to not cause disturbance and distractions in their chess match.
The two of them didn't mind the appearance of the system screen as they continued their chess match.
Responding to Allen's move, Carrion moved his d7 pawn to d5. After Carrion's move, that was when moved his c2 pawn into the c4 square.
"The Queen's Gambit? An interesting but overused opening. I accept."
Letting out those comments, Carrion moved his d5 pawn to take the pawn on c4 that transposed the opening into a Queen's Gambit: Accepted.
"This is an overrated opening. Why didn't you use another opening to make our first game interesting?"
Carrion asked Allen as he was curious why he didn't use an out-of-the-norm chess opening. The two of them were <Supremes> so shouldn't they use an opening that wasn't used by most chess players?
"It hasn't been several moves after the game yet. And, as you expected, I won't use a popular opening. After all, every popular opening has already been developed a counter for."
After speaking those words to Carrion, he moved his queen to d3 which caused Carrion to almost cough out blood.
"The heck? Are you sure you aren't drunk? Did you just blunder your queen?"
Carrion yelled out in surprise since he didn't expect Allen to perform the worst possible move ever.
There were numerous decent and excellent moves but Allen chose the worst move among all the available legal moves.
"What's a Queen's Gambit if I don't gamble my queen?"
Allen chuckled at Carrion's response and hearing Allen's reply, Carrion now knew that Allen didn't blunder his queen but it was on purpose.
And after analyzing numerous strategies in his mind to find out if it was a trap or not, Carrion found out that it wasn't a trap which confused him a lot. But who was he to not take a free queen?
Allen literally hanged his queen so Carrion took that to his advantage and took the queen using his c4 pawn.
[I Love Mathematics: I admit that I have calculated numerous legal moves that Allen would use but this wasn't within my calculations. How is it even possible to win a chess match against the <Supreme Strategist> without any queen?]
[Lolicon Shota Cultivator With Soul Fetish (Mod): I agree. Let's say that the <Supreme Strategist> didn't blunder any moves nor make any missed wins, mistakes, and inaccuracies. Even if Allen played against him with all of the brilliant moves, great moves, and best moves possible, he will still suffer an inevitable defeat. Unless the <Supreme Strategist> blunders his pieces then it will be impossible for Allen to win. Even I am not confident to defeat the <Supreme Strategist> without my queen piece.]
[Self-Proclaimed Genius Goblin Hero: Yeah, it is impossible for Allen to win without his queen. It is already difficult to win a chess match against the <Supreme Strategist> but losing the queen piece just spells an inevitable defeat.]
[Reality's Bitch: The only way to win this is for the Admin to hack reality and use his other <Supreme> talents to change reality and make the <Supreme Strategist> blunder all of his pieces.]
[Idle Zenchillionare Tycoon: Wait, isn't that cheating?]
[Reality's Bitch: It isn't cheating if you aren't caught.]
[Idle Zenchillionare Tycoon: I see! I'll take note of that.]
[Time Manipulator Of The Apocalypse: Have faith in Allen. He is the Admin who has the <Supreme Order> talent for a reason. He won't lose a chess match against the <Supreme Strategist> just by losing his queen.]
Allen was silently reading the chat group messages up until John's message.
[Supreme Order (Admin): To be honest, I don't think I will win this if the <Supreme Strategist> doesn't blunder any moves. At most, I can go for a draw.]
[Time Manipulator Of The Apocalypse: If you aren't sure of winning this game after blundering your queen, why did you do it in the first place? Aren't you here to win the chess match against the <Supreme Strategist>?]
[Supreme Order (Admin): That is where you are mistaken. Chess isn't always about winning. Most chess players are too obsessed with winning a chess title such as CM, FM, IM, and GM titles that they forgot the most important part of chess is having fun. Chess is a boring game so if you don't find a way to have fun with it, what's the point of playing it?]
[Supreme Order (Admin): And besides, I hate the fact that the Queen's Gambit was called as such without even gambling the queen. That is the main reason why I made such a move.]
[Time Manipulator Of The Apocalypse: I see… then you can carry on your game. All of us online will watch how it goes.]
[Reality's Bitch: Yeah, and remember that my suggestion is still valid.]
[Supreme Order (Admin): I won't cheat, lol. Anyways, bye for now.]
After sending that message, Allen closed the AMCG platform as he focused his attention back on the chessboard. He had chatted with his chat group members in just a split second so that's why he didn't raise any suspicion about his idle action.
"I can't retort to what you have said since it's true in some sense. In fact, we can declare this as a new variation known as [True Queen's Gambit: Walker Variation- Accepted] or True Queen's Gambit for short."
Carrion declared a new chess opening variation that was played by Allen Walker himself. It was undeniably the True Queen's Gambit.
"True Queen's Gambit… I like the sound of that. Now that we have finished the opening, let's the chess match begin!"
Allen spoke as he started his next chess move.
