Chapter 419: Going back for loot

The only way someone could beat a 3rd stage Body Formation Maugnetic like Arsonny was if they had a magic realm of 7-star or higher. But that was just the theoretical idea. Real life fighting was much more complicated, and a Maugnetic could easily overpower an 8-star realm magician if they used their Aubilities correctly.

The only one who could have defeated him was Seberus Augindore, an 8-star Tower Master back in the Kings region. But, from what they knew, Arsonny hadn’t left the Queens region as of yet so he couldn’t have encountered someone as strong as Seberus.

“Could this be a hoax?” Bobby asked. “Maybe he purposefully left his armor so that he could escape.”

The other two nodded, feeling that this was the most logical explanation as to what had happened.

It was that, or there was a 3rd stage or higher Maugnetic in the lower Queens region. But that was very much unlikely.

“For someone to defeat Arsonny, they would have needed three surgeries. I definitely haven’t seen someone like that in recent times,” Aerith commented.

She would know that because the only ones who could perform the surgery was her and her team of healers back in Metropolis. In short, all of the Maugnetics were accounted for, and all of them were back further north of the Queens region.

“I’ll keep my eye out,” Alaric said. “I’ll try to contact Duke Stelmane of Angora City to warn him of Arsonny’s plans. If need be, then I will send my troops there to support. But for now, we’ll wait and see.”

The other two agreed with Alaric and settled the matter there.

And since they didn’t have much to do anymore, they went on their own ways and separated, leaving to go back to Metropolis.

Meanwhile, back in Angora City, Michael met up with the others now that the business with Flarecorp was over.

Sheina and Castelle worked together to arrange for supplies to be shipped out to Batchrock Town as soon as possible. However, since the path was still rough and had no Golden Road, their estimated time of arrival would probably be a week or more.

“Master! Those three people were quite strong,” Fudge said, popping out of the shadows and onto Michael’s head.

“Yup. They’re called Legacies for a reason. They’re the top businesses in Metropolis, which means that they’re all probably ranked in the 300-200 range.”

Not only that, but they were very strong Maugnetics as well. He didn’t know about the other three Legacies, but he sure knew that Alaric was at least at the very peak of Body Formation.

Defeating Flarexis without showing his Diva or using his Aubility was a flex that only the best of the best could showcase.

“Fudge, I hope that you didn’t try and put your shadows onto them, right?”

He gave Fudge a stern look.

“No, no, Master! I swear. Those guys were just way too strong that I knew my shadows would immediately get found out if I attached it to them.”

Being Maugnetic came with a lot of perks, one of them being that Fudge couldn’t prank them.

“Speaking of which, Master….can I become a Maugnetic?”

Fudge put himself in front of Michael and did the best ‘soft’ eyes that he could muster. He even molded his body to have a tail on his back, mimicking a very good dog.

But of course, Michael wasn’t going to get swayed by Fudge. He would be far too unstoppable if he became a Maugnetic.

“Nope. I’ll be taking all the GodForge pieces first,” he declared.

He didn’t even know if monsters or demi-humans could become a Maugnetic. For all he knew, only humans could become one. After all, GodForge pieces attached themselves to the heart, something which Fudge didn’t have.

In the future though, he wouldn’t mind Fudge or his other allies becoming a Maugnetic if that was possible.

He just wanted to be as efficient as possible for now and hog all the GodForge pieces they could find. It wasn’t out of greed, but out of necessity.

The stronger of a Maugnetic he became, the more secure they could become as a company.

Speaking of which, Michael just remembered something.

“I have something to do. Tell everyone I’ll be back before dinner,” he said to Fudge.

Michael immediately turned himself into a shadow and transported himself back to Batchrock Town.

Coming back here a day later, he saw that the entire town was just starting to get back on their feet. They were sweeping the streets, clearing burned debris, and overall just getting back on their feet.

But strangely though, their main priority wasn’t rebuilding homes or recreating infrastructure, the citizens of Batchrock town instead focused on creating a giant statue of the Iron Maiden in the very middle of their plaza!

It was about twenty feet tall, and strangely accurate to the Iron Maiden that he saw back then.

Why is it so accurate? They weren’t even there?

Michael just had to attribute it to Fudge doing Fudge things. He was starting to understand why Fudge’s talent was called the [SSS-class Malevolent Passenger]. The slime was truly malevolent.

“Ahhh! The Holy Son Michael!”

One of the locals spotted Michael and immediately kowtowed on the street. And as soon as the other people heard this, they immediately bowed down on the street as well, showing their respect to Michael.

“Woah, woah, woah. What are you all even talking about?” he asked them.

“It is you who has brought us the knowledge of the Iron Maiden. It is also you who will bring her image to the world! Who are you if not the Holy Son of the Iron Maiden?”

The other citizens nodded fervently, agreeing with the man’s words.

Michael shook his head. He didn’t even want to deal with what Fudge had cooked up here.

“Just so you guys know, I’m not the Holy Son or whatever.”

The locals didn’t seem to hear his words though.

Michael didn’t want to be here when the Reborn Trucks arrived with supplies. They would surely be more fervent in their worship because of that, saying that he brought them the holy animals of the Iron Maiden.

He quickly floated away from the growing group of locals and went directly towards the castle.

Nothing much had changed with this structure, probably because no one knew what to do with it. After all, Flarecorp had completely erased all the royal blood in Batchrock Town, and now that they’re gone, there’s no one left to rule them, which meant that the castle was vacant.

He went directly to the throne room, where the self-destruction of Flarexis took place, and where he met the three Legacies.

Stepping into the middle of the room, he found himself surrounded by burned blast marks. There was nothing left of Flarexis but these black streaks on the ground.

However, he knew that even if blood, flesh, and bone were destroyed, there was one thing in Flarexis’ body that would never be destroyed.

And that was his GodForge piece.

Aerith said that the GodForge pieces were too separated to even see with the naked eye, therefore almost impossible to pick up.

But Michael had no problem with that.
