“I withdraw from the Chūnin Exams…”

Before ‘Itachi’ could signal the start of the second match of the quarterfinals, Samsara suddenly raised her hand and declared her intention of wanting to withdraw from the Chūnin Promotion Exam shocking everyone including the spectators, fellow participants, referees, Kages, and Deidara himself.

“Afraid… are you?” murmured Deidara in a dissatisfied tone of voice as he withdrew his hands from his Shinobi Bag. He was looking forward to a good fight where he will fully showcase his art to everyone, especially to Ōnoki, but before he could do that, the opponent has already withdrawn from the fight. Obviously, this left him disappointed. He paused for a moment and said, “If you are worried about me using Dust Release to turn you into particles… then you don’t need to be concerned girl, I won’t be using it against you… so you don’t need to withdraw, you know…”

In response to Deidara’s words, Samsara shrugged, “I couldn’t care less what you would use and what you wouldn’t use, it’s all the same for me…”

Deidara pursed his lips, and murmured to himself, “She must be worried that she won’t be able to cope with my art either… Haah! Must be it…” Obviously, Samsara’s ‘it’s all the same for me’ was interpreted by Deidara as Samsara not being confident enough to face the explosions created by his art, therefore, she chose to withdraw as it would ensure her safety.

This line of thought, although disappointed him in Samsara, “I was expecting a lot from her after our previous encounter in the second phase, but it turns out that I was overestimating her…” it also made him happy that the Kunoichi was afraid of his art as well.

‘Hmm… I see… so this what Kuroto-sama meant when he said that there are a few delusional people out there…’ thought Samsara hearing Deidara’s murmurs. Obviously, in her mind, Deidara is a delusional guy who doesn’t really understand the situation.

Is Samsara afraid of Deidara? This couldn’t be farthest from the truth.

When she said, ‘it’s all the same for me,’ Samsara meant that whether he uses Dust Release or his so-called art, against her, it’s all the same because they wouldn’t even scratch her clothes, let alone harm her, therefore, she has no reason to be afraid of him.

As for the reason of withdrawing from the fight? There is only one reason and that is Raijin’s order. If not for Raijin’s order, she could have one-shotted him using the Genjutsu of her Rinnegan, in the same manner, she did with Temari of Sunagakure.

‘Forget it, let’s just ignore him and return to the waiting room…’ with that in mind, Samsara decided not to burst Deidara’s bubble and ignoring him, she simply turned to ‘Itachi’ and once stated, “I want to withdraw…”

After a moment of silence, ‘Itachi’ asked, “Are you certain?”

Samsara nodded lightly, “Yes…”

“Alright then…” agreed ‘Itachi’ and announced her withdrawal, “Since, Samsara has withdrawn from the fight, the winner is automatically Deidara of Iwagakure who has obtained entry into the Semi-Finals alongside Raijin…” then turned to the two participants, “You may return back to your Waiting rooms…”

Without giving Deidara a glance, Samsara simply turned around and left the arena.

On the other hand, watching her go, Deidara snorted coldly and left the arena as well.

“You have got to be kidding me! She is really withdrawing from the fight just like this?”

“This shouldn’t be allowed!”

“I bet money on her… how could she just walk away like that?”

“Sucks to be you…”

“Don’t give me that… did you see how she defeated Temari of Sunagakure? I don’t think anyone stands a chance against her… but she decided to withdraw for no apparent reason!”

“That’s not true… I’d say she is a smart girl… If she had continued with that fight against Deidara, she would be dead for sure… and no one wants to die…”

“If you were smart, you’d have bet on Deidara… there is no way, that lad is going to lose to anyone…”

“Who cares…? All I care about are the fights and I didn’t get to see one… I am not happy with this result… Boo! Boo!”

“Boooo!”

“Boooo!”

The audience started to Boo Samsara for withdrawing from the fight, but without paying them any attention she simply disappeared from the arena and returned to the Amegakure waiting room.

At the VIP seats, the Kages had mixed reactions.

Tsuchikage, although surprised, breathed a sigh of relief, ‘Thankfully nothing went wrong…’ He was more than grateful for how things turned out, not only Deidara did not antagonised a possible member of Amatsukami, but he got promoted to the semi-finals without making any effort or consuming his Chakra… there simply couldn’t be a better result than this.

Pakura, on the other hand, pouted, “If you were going to withdraw eitherway… then why not do it earlier… Temari could have been there…” Of course, she understood that she was complaining, but it couldn’t be helped. Samsara had withdrawn from the match when facing Deidara, it seems to imply that she is afraid of fighting Deidara. Now, Pakura knows that that’s not true at all, as Samsara can defeat Deidara in the same manner she defeated Temari, but the implication of her actions seems to tell another story. As per the implications, Samsara, who literally one-shotted Temari is ‘afraid’ of Deidara, it sort of means that Temari doesn’t stand a chance against Deidara either, which is not true at all.

“Huh? She withdrew?” murmured Raikage, equally dissatisfied with the result, though the reason for his dissatisfaction was something else entirely. He was expecting a proper fight between Deidara and Samsara to gain a proper understanding of her strength and weaknesses, but it seems things weren’t going to go as planned.

Mizukage was simply bored, and wanted ‘Itachi’ to move to the next match, “Since she has withdrawn, then start the next match already…”

‘Kuroto’ on the other hand was expressionless as he had already expected this turn of events and signalled ‘Itachi’ to move to the next match.

“Moving on to the next match…” said ‘Itachi’ drawing the attention of the crowd, and announced the names of the two participants for the third match of the quarterfinals, “Darui of Kumogakure and Tengu of Amegakure… please come to the arena…”
