"So, what you mean to say is..."
In the guest room of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Fang Mo thoughtfully rubbed his chin. "They've now split into two factions?"
Yes, Fang Mo had already returned to the X-Mansion by now.
After Logan's explanation, he roughly understood the issue with these X-Men.
In summary, the current situation is that the senator who was imprisoned by Erik somehow suddenly showed up at the X-Mansion seeking help. Reportedly, he specifically came to find Jean Grey because she had recently given a public lecture about mutants.
Senator Kelly had actually attended that lecture and had been opposing Jean Grey throughout.
But now, after being tormented by Erik, he suddenly realized that Jean was right and rushed to the X-Men for help.
As it turns out, Magneto Erik's technology is quite advanced.
Senator Kelly actually transformed from a human into a mutant, something he hated the most.
Since he previously advocated for anti-mutant policies, he now didn't dare to go back. His subordinates were all vehemently anti-mutant, so he could only seek protection from the mutants, even though he still sided with humans in his heart. It must be said that the X-Men are indeed kind-hearted.
Even though Senator Kelly had a notorious past, the X-Men still took him in and treated him when he was in trouble.
However, it was previously mentioned that Erik's machine had flaws.
Though Senator Kelly desperately ran over here, due to severe physical exhaustion and the machine's defects, he collapsed into a coma before he could explain anything clearly.
The X-Men were completely baffled by this.
Originally, with Charles recently missing, everyone at the X-Mansion was already on edge. Now with the sudden and bizarre appearance of this senator, a sense of imminent crisis loomed even larger.
To uncover the truth, Phoenix... or rather, Jean Grey, stepped forward.
Her abilities included telekinesis and telepathy, but she seldom used them due to the influence of her second personality.
After reading Senator Kelly's mind, Jean was stunned. It turned out Magneto had secretly created a machine that could turn ordinary humans into mutants and had tested it on Senator Kelly.
Apparently, Senator Kelly had indeed become a mutant, seemingly with abilities akin to a jellyfish. His entire body could transform into a water-rich, elastic structure, which allowed him to squeeze through cell bars and survive after falling into the sea, eventually drifting ashore to safety.
Without hesitation, Jean immediately informed the others about this.
Unexpectedly, this news caused an uproar within the X-Men.
It should be noted that the current members of the X-Mansion differ somewhat from the original storyline. For instance, Darwin, who should have been dead, was still alive due to Fang Mo's influence.
Additionally, Fang Mo's earlier influence had altered some of the others' thinking.
This led to a split within the X-Men: one faction, led by Storm, believed they should stop Magneto's plot; the other, led by Darwin and Scott, was more radical.
Their argument was reasonable. Human oppression and discrimination against mutants were rampant. Even within the X-Mansion, every child had suffered some form of psychological or physical harm at the hands of humans.
Furthermore, a new Mutant Registration Act was being drafted.
Once passed, this act would strip mutants of any privacy or refuge, allowing extremist humans to continually harass and oppress them, leaving them no space to live.
Due to this issue, the group was almost at each other's throats.
This was understandable, as they were used to following Charles's lead, and now, with their leader suddenly gone, disputes were inevitable.
"In short, that's the situation."
After explaining everything to Fang Mo, Logan appeared visibly frustrated.
He instinctively reached for a cigar in his pocket but, remembering Fang Mo's troublesome personality, quickly withdrew his hand. "So, what about you? Yesterday you left me and Rogue at the station and went to stay with Magneto overnight. What did he tell you?"
"He said that weaklings are pathetic..."
"I don't think that's something an old man would say."
Before Fang Mo could finish, Logan interrupted him, rubbing his temples in frustration. "Be honest, did you make that up?"
"You saw through that?"
Fang Mo exclaimed, "Looks like you've noticed my practice of femininity rotation. No choice then, I'll have to hit you with a punch of estradiol..."
"Can you stop fooling around at a time like this?"
Logan couldn't help but take a deep breath. "We're already in chaos here, can't you come up with something?"
Fang Mo spread his hands and said directly, "Wait for that senator to die on his own in a while, then they'll definitely stop arguing."
"What did you say?"
Logan was stunned for a moment upon hearing this. "You mean... that senator will die? Why?"
"Oh, that gene mutation machine has a flaw."
Fang Mo explained briefly, "It appears to be able to create the X-gene through magnetic radiation, but it only lasts for a short time before it causes total cellular necrosis."
"Can't it be saved?"
Logan frowned and pondered for a moment before asking.
"Sorry, it can't be."
Fang Mo shook his head decisively. In truth, if he really wanted to save him, he could, but there was no need. Given that guy's personality, he would die sooner or later anyway.
"Alright then."
Logan nodded, then asked another question, "Do you think we should tell them about this?"
"Up to you."
Fang Mo spread his hands nonchalantly. "Actually, their current arguments are completely pointless. This senator is not a big deal. The urgent matter is clearly to find Charles first. They are obviously putting the cart before the horse."
"But no one knows where he went."
Logan responded, "From what I've heard, the X Academy used to find people using the Cerebro, but apparently, only Charles can use that thing."
"Is that so?"
Fang Mo recalled, "I remember that telepaths could use it too."
"Telepaths?"
Logan was puzzled, but at that moment, a sudden wave of psychic energy swept through the space, feeling somewhat familiar to him. "Hmm? Wait... was that just now...?"
"Oh, looks like I remembered correctly."
Unlike Logan, Fang Mo nodded upon sensing the psychic energy.
Apparently, in X-Men 1, after Charles collapsed, Jean Grey forcibly used the Cerebro, which put a great mental strain on her, causing the psychic prison Charles had set up to crack, and the power of the Dark Phoenix began to erode her mind.
It was as if to verify Fang Mo's thoughts.
Shortly after, the door to the room was slammed open.
"Mr. Fang Mo!"
It was Scott who burst in, holding the unconscious Jean Grey in his arms. He looked anxiously at Fang Mo. "Jean... forcibly used the Cerebro and now she's unconscious. Can you save her?"
To be honest.
Scott was desperate now.
Fang Mo had just returned from Magneto Erik, so his identity was somewhat sensitive, but Scott really loved Jean Grey. Now that she was in trouble, it seemed Fang Mo was the only one in the academy who could help.
After all, according to the other senior members, this guy was once known as the 'Celestial' decades ago.
Even Omega-level mutants were no match for him.
"Hmm?"
Fang Mo was taken aback when he saw Scott bring Jean to him, but he quickly smiled. "Oh, so you've finally remembered that I'm the school doctor at Xavier Academy?"
"Mr. Fang Mo, you can treat her, right?"
Scott asked urgently.
"Oh, I should be able to."
Fang Mo nodded and then directed Steve to place two iron blocks on the ground, arranging them into a makeshift operating table: "Put her down first, and let me take a look."
"Okay... alright."
Although Scott was puzzled by the sudden appearance of the bed, there was no time to think about it. He carefully placed Jean on the iron blocks.
After Jean was placed down, Fang Mo began to seriously observe the so-called Phoenix Girl.
As the host of the Phoenix Force fragments, Fang Mo was certainly not going to treat her with the Manyullyn Cleaver. In fact, he was simply curious about the so-called Phoenix Force. If he could study it, creating a module or two would be fantastic.
As a being with the status of a dimensional demon god, Fang Mo had many means of perception.
After a brief observation, he quickly sensed the surging energy within Jean Grey.
It was an infinite, ever-burning, immense psychic power, vast as an ocean with no boundaries.
The strength of this power was so great that even Fang Mo couldn't help but be surprised. No wonder the Phoenix Force is one of Marvel's ultimate cheats. Even with just a fraction of its power, the Phoenix Girl's true strength could easily crush the entire X-Men universe.
If she fully awakened, dealing with her would require him to use his full strength or exploit various rules and characteristics of the MC world to suppress her.
The movie's portrayal was still too grounded.
In the original desperate battle plot, the Dark Phoenix wreaked havoc but didn't even completely destroy an island. Fang Mo suspected this was due to the filmmakers' limitations rather than the Phoenix Girl's power. If she really caused trouble, ripping apart the Earth beneath her feet would be as easy as a game.
After all, other mutants are just that, mutants, but she is a god.
"Hmm…"
Fang Mo pondered for a moment before finally reaching out with one finger to gently touch Jean's forehead.
Soon, a gentle white light enveloped her body.
However, in the next second, a burst of golden light erupted from within Jean's body.
The white light was instantly shattered, and Jean suddenly opened her eyes, filled with a terrifying, chaotic darkness. Fortunately, Charles's mental prison was not completely broken, so she quickly regained consciousness.
"What... what happened to me?"
As she regained consciousness, Jean's face showed a clear look of confusion: "Where is this?"
"Jean, you're awake."
Seeing his girlfriend awake, Scott breathed a sigh of relief and quickly hugged her: "Thank goodness, are you alright?"
"I... I think I remember now."
At this moment, Jean suddenly reacted. Without pushing Scott away, she urgently turned to Logan: "Professor X! I found Professor X!"
"You found him?"
Logan immediately asked: "Where is he now?"
"I don't know, I can't clearly see the surroundings." Jean replied, with a look of deep concentration on her face: "I only know the professor is in danger. Those people… they seem to have a plan. They seem to be trying to control the professor."
"Control the professor?"
Scott reacted: "Who? How could they manage that? Professor X is the world's most powerful mutant."
"I don't know, it was a blue-skinned mutant who did it."
Jean frowned: "He captured the professor. I can vaguely see some fragmented memories."
"Blue skin?"
Scott frowned: "Jean, do you mean Mystique?"
"Mystique? Who's that?"
Logan, hearing this, glanced at Fang Mo: "Could it be Magneto? Is Mystique his companion? So… is he planning to use Charles's powers to control ordinary people? Or turn against us?"
"No, it wasn't Magneto."
Jean shook her head: "The blue-skinned mutant I saw… he seemed to be a man."
