‘He doesn’t look so good.’

'You look really upset.'

‘Lighten up.’

'Everyone is having fun, so why do you look so sad?'

“...”

“...”

It had been a while since we had this kind of gathering with everyone.

Actually, we were going to do this earlier, but due to the Elias incident and Kim Hyun-Sung’s personal issues, it was delayed. It was late, but as soon as we announced there was going to be a group meeting, people came as if they’d been waiting for it.

The meeting took place in a small clearing where we could see the oasis in the desert at a glance. There were comfortable sofas, tables, barbeque grills, a magic freezer, and a makeshift tent that looked like a hipster had made it. Soon, people appeared one by one, and the atmosphere became pretty lively.

The only thing that was different from the usual meetings was that we hadn't commissioned the staffers to work for us. Instead, there was a huge outdoor kitchen available for us to use.

‘When did they set this up outside? I’m sure they were contacted just a few minutes ago. When did they have time to prepare all this?’

The large kitchen, which resembled a kitchen one would find at a huge restaurant, was on one side of the venue. It was a strange but interesting sight.

It was fun to see the guild members moving busily while cooking.

I wasn’t sure who planned it, but everyone looked like they were having fun.

Han Sora was beside Ha-Yan and was teaching her various things, and Ha-Yan tried to meet Han Sora’s expectations by doing her best with the mise en place. Strangely, I thought she wouldn’t be good at it, but she was really good at handling the knife.

The sight made me feel like she had a knack for handling daggers.

“You’re doing great… Miss Jung Ha-Yan,” Han Sora complimented her.

“R-Really?” Jung Ha-Yan asked.

“Yes. How… how did you do that?” Han Sora asked.

She was especially good at cutting the meat. The meat had already been prepared beforehand, so I couldn't really measure her true skill at the knife, but the sight before me was unreal.

She looked like she was randomly poking the meat with the knife and ripping them apart with her hands. It was like she was stabbing them for no reason… so how come the meat was prepared so quickly?

“I-It’s fun,” Jung Ha-Yan remarked.

Jung Ha-Yan's apron was covered in the organs of the poor animal, but every time she wiped away her sweat and smiled brightly, animal parts would manifest like magic.

It was to the point that I thought perhaps she simply teleported products from a supermarket. However, the dazzling light in her eyes made me think that it wasn't the case. In fact, even Han Sora was surprised, so my assumption had to be wrong.

Still, it was an unusual sight.

Meanwhile, I noticed Alps and Belier running around frantically.

‘I actually pity them the most. I’m sure they hated the person who planned this meeting.’

The staffers weren't here to clean up after them, and the two realized that they had to do it themselves.

Even Shiro was running around.

Seeing them run around frantically between the kitchen and the banquet hall brought tears to my eyes.

They quickly cleaned up the mess that Jung Ha-Yan had made and set everything back up again. They seemed worried that there was something from the banquet hall.

Rather than enjoying the party, it looked like they wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Sometimes, Sun Hee-Young would look quietly at them, and then they would either get up to set the table with some tableware again or move around.

Surprisingly, Ahn Ki-Mo was one of the people in the kitchen.

No one was watching, but he would either do a fire show or sprinkle spices in an exaggerated manner, which was very Ahn Ki-Mo-esque.

Park Deok-Gu standing in front of the large barbeque grill was chattering away while cooking the meal, while Colonel Smith was making cocktails like a professional. I heard people laughing from time to time, and even though everyone was enjoying the party, there was one person who looked like he was at a funeral.

‘Lighten up, Hyun-Sung.’

I saw him drinking alone on one side of the banquet hall as if he had just experienced the bitter and sweet moments of life.

‘You’re acting really gloomy.’

He was so gloomy that the guild members left him alone.

‘What’s with that look? Why are you making it so obvious? People might think you came here after getting into a huge fight instead of coming to a party.’

I knew he was angry because today had basically ended in a failure for him. The process was pretty fun, but as always, the result was the most important. The gift he had prepared went out the window, and the worst-case scenario Kim Hyun-Sung could ever imagine had unfolded before him in the blink of an eye.

To make matters worse, the reason behind it was the seed he had planted.

I understood why he was angry, but…

‘They must’ve fought.’

‘Did they get into an argument?’

‘Did something happen?’

‘They fought when they went out.’

I was bothered because the guild members were looking at Kim Hyun-Sung and me in that way. We were here for a party, but Kim Hyun-Sung was ruining the atmosphere.

After gulping down a glass by himself, he poured himself another drink. He glanced at the oasis before downing another glass of liquor.

With a self-pitying chuckle, he looked at the glass and downed another one, seemingly in an effort to drown his sadness. However, it seemed that what he was doing wasn't enough, as he placed a palm on his forehead, showing everyone that he was in a bad mood.

The guild members avoided him as a result, except for Park Lian.

‘He can’t even drink alcohol.’

“You must not like alcohol, Miss Lian,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

“I don’t really like it. It feels like I’m drinking rubbing alcohol, and it puts me in a bad mood,” Park Lian answered.

“This tastes better than ordinary drinks, Miss Lian,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

“...”

“I didn’t like alcohol at first either, but after experiencing many hardships, it tastes like sweet juice,” Kim Hyun-Sung added.

“I see,” Park Lian said.

‘I really want to kick him out.’

“Would you like to have a drink?” Kim Hyun-Sung offered.

“I’m sorry,” she declined.

“You don’t have to apologize. It honestly tastes better to drink alone,” he told her.

“...”

Haha…” Kim Hyun-Sung laughed.

‘I’ll just leave him alone so he can get drunk fast and go to sleep.’

Park Lian couldn't take it anymore and made a move. It was like a space-type magic was cast, as I could see Kim Hyun-Sung and the other guild members in the same room but not at the same time.

The guild members tried their best not to worry about Kim Hyun-Sung, and they even talked about him in the same room, which made it clear that Kim Hyun-Sung and Park Lian were in a different space altogether.

In the end, I had no choice but to turn to Park Deok-Gu.

If this awkward atmosphere was to improve, then Park Deok-Gu would be the best man for it.

"It finally feels like we’re on vacation! I feel relieved to see everyone in one place,” Park Deok-Gu remarked.

“You were too busy drinking, Mister,” Kim Ye-Ri chimed in.

“Drinking with the members of the Red Mercenary Guild and my family are two different things. Hey, Smith bro! Here's a lettuce wrap to commemorate your entry to the guild,” Park Deok-Gu offered.

“...”

“We had no time to hold a welcoming party, so I made you a lettuce wrap to compensate, Smith bro. Are you doing well adjusting to the guild?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“Yes,” Colonel Smith answered.

“You don’t have to be so polite. No one thinks of you as a rookie guild member,” he told him.

“...”

“...”

“Got it,” Colonel Smith answered.

Colonel Smith tried to grab the lettuce wrap, but Park Deok-Gu insisted on feeding it to him. In the end, Park Deok-Gu won the intense war of nerves.

“Hey, you guys should come over as well. We should cheer together,” Park Deok-Gu suggested.

“Hold on. I just need to take care of this.”

“We have another new guest along with Smith bro!” Park Deok-Gu said.

“I’m just grateful that I got invited,” Chanelia said.

“I heard you’re a leather craftsman. Do you make equipment and stuff?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“That’s right. Some monsters’ hides are harder than iron or rare metals, but it’s very rare. I left behind several works,” Chanelia answered.

Um! I would like to hear the details. Do you have time?” Yoo Ah-Young requested.

“You are…”

“I’m Yoo Ah-Young, the blacksmith of the Blue Guild. If you don’t mind…” Yoo Ah-Young added.

“So you’re the craftsman of the Blue Guild. I should be the one making that request. The both of us will improve by having such conversations,” Chanelia remarked.

“So regarding the leather…”

I was sure Yoo Ah-Young would obtain something from Chanelia, as I had notified her about it in advance. Chanelia was happy about meeting another craftsman, and she was all smiles. She was doing a great job getting along with the other guild members.

She was doing better than Kim Hyun-Sung.

“O-Oppa, I made this,” Jung Ha-Yan offered.

“Really?” I asked.

“Would you like to try?” Jung Ha-Yan asked.

Jung Ha-Yan sat next to me and showed me what she had made with Han Sora.

The new guild members and Shiro finally sat on the sofa.

After glancing at Chanelia, Lee Chang-Ryeol moved across from Kim Hyun-Sung and started drinking with him. Hwang Jung-Yeon and Kim Ye-Ri were moving busily for some reason, and even Jo Hye-Jin, who was eating meat at the grill, sat down, which meant all the guild members had finally taken their seats.

A noisy party started, and we ate the food prepared by the people here.

“It’s good,” I said.

‘It’s better than I thought.’

“R-R-Really?” Jung Ha-Yan asked.

“Yeah, it’s really good, Ha-Yan,” I replied.

‘It’s really good. Why is it so good?’

“Take your time, oppa. T-The night is long. Y-You’re going to have another drink with me in your room later, right?” Jung Ha-Yan asked as I drank some wine.

“Miss Jung Ha-Yan, Miss Jung Ha-Yan! Come over here,” Han Sora interrupted her.

They shared silly stories.

“Mr. Lee Ki-Young, do you remember the time when we went on that expedition?” Sun Hee-Young asked.

“Of course, Miss Hee-Young,” I answered.

I could hear the others talking in the background.

“Then, when are you planning on holding a ceremony, Miss Jung-Yeon?” Alps asked.

“I’m not sure… we haven’t decided anything yet. Rather than rushing things, we want to take our time to decide,” Hwang Jung-Yeon answered.

‘What the? Is Deok-Gu getting married?’

“He said he wanted to make a special announcement for the sub guild master's sake,” Hwang Jung-Yeon added.

‘Wait, really?’

“Did he propose?” Alps asked.

“Yeah, he proposed here,” Hwang Jung-Yeon replied.

Haa… I’m jealous. When will my other half appear?” Alps grumbled.

‘Why didn’t this pig let me know about that?’

'What the hell?'

Those completely drunk were now dancing.

“Sensual dance…” Kim Ye-Ri said.

‘Don’t do that, please…’

People started talking and laughing for no reason.

“Now, it’s time to hear the guild master—I mean… the sub guild master’s toast. Please take a seat, everyone…” Ahn Ki-Mo announced.

Ahn Ki-Mo realized that Kim Hyun-Sung wasn’t in any condition to make a toast, but he was smart enough to hand the baton to me instead.

Everyone turned to look at me.

“I’ll just say a few words. I know it’s cliche, but I’d like to thank everyone who traveled all the way here to party. We experienced many things together, and we grew together—”

“Mr. Ki-Young!” someone shouted.

‘Ah, damn it. This bastard.’

I saw the extremely drunk regressor.

‘Damn it, you…’

“Mr. Ki-Yoooung!”

‘Someone… drag this guy out.’

Perhaps he wasn’t confident about talking to me while he was sober, so he decided to use alcohol before telling me his thoughts.

“You… hiccup… you…” Kim Hyun-Sung mumbled.

“...”

“Yooou…”

“...”

“Why don’t you understand my feelings, Mr. Ki-Young… Whyyy?!” Kim Hyun-Sung shouted.

I could confidently say that this was the first time I ever felt like running away from a party.

‘Someone drag this guy out. Please.’

'Damn it!'
