Chapter 1012: Outright Clash
After reading the message, Xu Feng’s face was calm and serene. It was impossible for anyone to tell what kind of emotion was running through his mind.
"Feng, do you want your chicken braised or baked—" Allison came out of the kitchen to ask, only to find him sitting on the couch without moving.
Confused, she walked over and frowned. She thought he was undergoing something again, but realized his eyes were open.
"What’s wrong with you now?" She questioned.
Xu Feng snapped out of his thought process and glanced at her.
"Nothing, I was just consolidating some of the energy force." He replied.
"I see..." Not suspecting anything, Allison repeated her question.
In response, Xu Feng chose the baked option. After all, baking was quicker than braising.
Sometime later, Allison returned to the kitchen whereas Xu Feng began using his smartwatch to message Veronica.
The fact that the Reaver Guild achieved a town was surprising, but after some pondering, Xu Feng came to the conclusion that the actual town’s owner was someone else.
And they were most likely to be the Illuminati.
’They have been silent so far, but they sure know how to give a surprise.’ Xu Feng thought they were still biding their time due to their silence. Yet who could have imagined them to pull a fast one against them?
The location Bilgewater was close to Twilight Glades, but not close enough.
Moreover, the terrain was more difficult to defend. Bilgewater had three open areas that had numerous monsters roaming there. Just the manpower needed to station and patrol would be daunting.
But given the scale of a combination of Reaver Guild, and many more under the Illuminati, that problem wouldn’t be a problem much.
Xu Feng first sent a message to instruct Veronica to remain steady and ignore the town’s opening. Their Haven Wind Town will follow the original scale and open on the date they set.
As for the Reaver Guild’s action in poaching players to their town, followed by their showcase of similar items sold by the Vanguard Shop, Xu Feng turned a blind eye to it.
In his eyes, it was merely a clown prancing around. There was nothing to be feared, and the more the Reaver Guild attempted to dampen his guild, the more excited he became.
’Want to smolder us with financial wealth? So be it. Let’s see who will have the last laugh.’ He sneered inwardly. The Vanguard Guild wasn’t constructed with a shaky foundation, but rather with a sturdy and steady foundation.
Not to mention, he had a lot of advanced knowledge and information regarding the Divine World.
In terms of warfare in the financial aspect, Xu Feng was more confident than ever. He glanced at the projected screen of his smartwatch and felt it was about time to introduce some godly items. Players were reaching level 40s so it was time for the next phase anyway.
Lin Feng: Get Crimson Heart to begin crafting the new items that I’ve sent to her. The blueprints should be in her inbox already.
Vortex Viper: Okay, then what about the guild members being poached to the Reaver Guild from their new benefits?
Lin Feng: Let them leave if they want to be poached, but make sure to blacklist their name completely. I don’t mind them leaving for some other reasons and rejoining, but if they leave to guild hop, then they can forget about rejoining the guild ever.
Vortex Viper: Got it. When will you return? The Guild Commander has already returned.
Lin Feng: I’ll return soon. Have the Guild Commander handle the issues for now.
After sending that message, Xu Feng closed the projected screen of his smartwatch and leaned on the back of the couch.
Had there been any other issues, then Veronica alone could have resolved it. Unfortunately, this was another major crisis that threatened to shatter the guild’s foundation.
The significance of the matter surpassed that of Veronica’s usual authority.
Hence, she sent an emergency message to seek his instruction.
Now that Xu Feng was done with giving instructions, he could naturally take a little rest.
For a guild leader, only big matters should require his attention. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be a disgrace if a guild leader needed to handle every little thing that may or may not harm the guild’s interest?
Nevertheless, the outright clash with the Reaver Guild had made Xu Feng lose any mood to watch any dramas.
Instead, he closed his eyes, crossed his legs, and assumed a sitting lotus position. Afterward, he began to consolidate the energy force and condensed it into a more pure form.
Time quickly went by, and Allison’s voice resounded from the kitchen.
"Feng, the food is ready."
"Okay!"
His eyes soon opened and Xu Feng proceeded to open his palm. Hues of energy force floated above his palm and his strength had once again increased.
If he were to meet with Vince—the home invader who tried to assassinate Allison now, then Xu Feng could completely disregard the former. With his current strength and Energy Force capacity, Vince was no different than an ant in his eyes.
Sometime later, Allison placed all the dishes on the table and Xu Feng promptly joined in.
"By the way, has your Elder Alfred caught the home invader?" He then inquired.
Speaking of the home invader, Allison’s face frowned. "It’s somewhat infuriating. The city was on lockdown and my Uncle had already cornered the invader. But then all of a sudden, the invader vanished."
"Hmm, is that so?" Furrowing his brows, Xu Feng found it surprising to see the invader escape. "The invader was called Vince, and with facial recognition features, an arrest warrant should have been issued."
"That’s the most frustrating part. The invader somehow got diplomatic immunity and was able to escape the law. Moreover, we didn’t have any deaths, so it’s hard to prosecute him." Allison hissed.
Nodding his head, Xu Feng understood the true implication. It wasn’t that they didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute him. Instead, it was that the value of Vince out surpassed a failed assassination.
’Energy Force Fighters are equivalent to a strong military commander. Each one is more valuable than the other.’ He nearly wanted to laugh aloud at the so-called fairness, equality, and justice that politicians often preached about.
