Chapter 961: Innocent
The crowd was amused when Recknoizer made an outburst.
So he's Reckonizer?
That was the crowd's thought when they realized it was an external force player who eliminated a member from the Super Guild.
Meanwhile, on the Malefic Order Guild's side, CarnageBound was dumbfounded by the situation.
'What did Reckonizer do to provoke Kelso? Why did he even target others and not remain lowkey?' CarnageBound naturally knew Reckonizer's true identity.
He was someone from their guild, so how could CarnageBound not be astonished when one of their members was chosen as a target to be replaced?
Next to CarnageBound was Evelyn, who curled her lips upward.
'So he really did use the information to wreak havoc.' Evelyn could be said to be the only person aside from Carmen who understood the main culprit of this farce.
Since she was the one who offered all classified information to Xu Feng, she would be damned if this conflict wasn't caused by the seemingly innocent Xu Feng.
Her eyes gazed at him, who seemed to be immersed in his innocent role as he discussed the shocking event.
'Ah, I really want to expose him and see his dumbfounded appearance. But I can't. If I do, then Cool Wind would only despise me more.' Ultimately, Evelyn refrained from exposing anything.
Many only knew she was affiliated with the Malefic Order Guild, but the truth was that she couldn't care about it. In fact, she even hated her guild occasionally because, thanks to the guild's presence, she always lacked her fatherly love, who was a grand elder.
As a grand elder, her father naturally held a lot of prestige and authority within the guild. It was also due to the fact that she was able to mingle around and no one dared to slight her.
Not even CarnageBound dared to be rude to her.
But to ensure her identity was somewhat protected from the public, she appeared as a subordinate of CarangeBound.
Who could have imagined that the first thing she did when joining the guild officially was to go to another plane and commit an ambush?
Back then, she was quite intrigued and amused, having believed no one would dare to harm her whatsoever. That was until she encountered Cool Wind—someone who gave zero damn about her identity.
In fact, the present she received was a bombardment, followed by imprisonment in the city's prison cell.
Her father was enraged and sought to organize an all-out war against the Vanguard Guild, but she shook her head and rejected the motion. She was grateful for Cool Wind's action because her father actually decided to take a few breaks to enjoy some vacation with her.
Who could have imagined that Cool Wind's destructive and utter disregard for Evelyn resulted in her finally having some father-daughter time?
Hence, she was very appreciative of Cool Wind and even hoped to get closer to him so that she could orchestrate many more acts.
Whenever Evelyn thought about herself falling hopelessly in love with a man whom her father deemed as scumbag, she wondered how much chaos she could wreak.
Unconsciously, she started grinning sinisterly. 'Ah, if I get ravaged by Cool Wind, then wouldn't I get more attention?'
While Evelyn held such perverse thoughts. Elsewhere, on the Floral Branch side, Xu Feng suddenly sneezed very loudly.
"ACHOO!"
"Are you okay?"
Carmen was startled by his loud sneeze. No, could one even sneeze in a game for no reason?
Xu Feng shook his head in response.
"I don't know why, but I suddenly feel a very cold chill." His face was somewhat pale as he couldn't understand what was wrong with him. He was feeling normal and even eager to see Reckonizer being screwed by his scheme. Yet in an instant, he suddenly felt like someone was targeting him in a very sinister and perverted manner.
Confused, Carmen held a solemn expression.
"I think it's retribution knocking on your door lately." She calmly said. "You schemed too much and harmed too much, so now karma has finally found its way to you. It was only a bit delayed."
"..."
Speechless, Xu Feng didn't know how to respond to that.
Luckily, he was able to escape the awkward moment as Reckonizer was automatically teleported to an arena stage.
The arena stage was at the center, and everyone could see it clearly.
Soon, the eliminated Kelso emerged, and his expression was very cold.
"Didn't expect I had more Resonance Shard, did you?" The first thing Kelso did was taunt the hell out of Reckonizer. "A fucking healer dare to screw me over. Watch how I toy with you dearly. This daddy here will make you cry for existing!"
"Brother, I don't even know you." Reckonzier cried aloud. He naturally knew who Kelso was, but he really didn't know why Kelso was hell-bent on targeting him.
"Stop trying to play innocent, bitch!" Kelso roared in fury. If it weren't for the System not starting the match immediately, Kelso would have wanted to rush ahead and devastate Reckonizer already.
"Who are you?" Reckonizer gnashed his teeth. He had never felt so aggrieved before. It would have been fine if the latter were someone whom he had destroyed or toyed with. But the fact was that he didn't even know what Kelso was spouting.
Alas, no matter how much Rekonizer tried to claim innocence, it all landed on deaf ears.
Soon, the System commenced the match, and Kelso immediately dashed ahead with a barrage of spells and attacks.
"Ultimate skills from the start?" Stunned, Reckonizer reacted in time to face the incoming offense.
As the battle intensified on the stage, many spectators were dumbfounded.
"This Reckonizer claimed to be innocent, but Kelso's eyes were full of rage. Such emotion can't be faked!"
"Maybe Reckonizer is really guilty."
"Agreed, there's just no way Kelso would forgo the free 10 empty spot and instead choose to target an external force player without any strong reason."
With the spectator's comment, it was basically cemented that Reckonzier was the main culprit.
Meanwhile, the real culprit, Xu Feng, was watching the stage with an intrigued expression. 'The Cyclone Guild is really resourceful.'
