(I guess it’s about time.)

After leaving the card shop Astelia Home, Mira checked the time and then headed back to Craftbell, Coffee and Antiques, where she had agreed to do a photoshoot.

By coincidence, she had been able to see Danbulf’s card during the tournament match, proving that the card did exist, and on top of that, she even saw that card defeat one of the Nameless 48 Generals, so she was in incredibly high spirits.

Thinking of that, she recalled something and took out one card of Legend of Astelia.

「Now that I think about it, everything happened thanks to this.」

That was the card featuring Fuzzy Dice. That card had set off a long chain of events, which in a way was a funny coincidence. As Mira thought about that, she soon reached that shop with the owner obsessed with antiques.

Meanwhile, back at the waiting room in Astelia Home.

(…Who would’ve thought that the Rank A adventurer Moonlit Snowflake Grandir was into younger girls… At least that explains why he never got into a relationship before. Everyone who approached him was older and more mature…)

The handsome man, Grandir, was a Rank A adventurer who also happened to be a really good player of the card game. He had plenty of traits to be popular, so many women approached him with romantic intentions.

Amongst those women were various daughters of noble families, and even some possessing nearly unattainable beauty. But Grandir had never accepted their advances even once.

No one knew what he found lacking in them, not to mention that he was in a position where the women would not mind forming a harem if it was necessary, allowing him to have multiple wives. But regardless of that, he never got close to any of them.

Eventually, certain rumors began to circulate amongst other adventurers, who wondered if he was into guys instead.

As that became widespread, things started to get trickier for the friend too, as he was always together with Grandir.

The friend was part of the same guild, but a rank lower. At least now, he could be at ease again, but the reality that Grandir liked younger girls was also not something he had been expecting, so overall it was a conflicting feeling. He went out to the event area with those thoughts circling in his head.

Then, on the other side of the building near the shopping area, where the card packs and other related items were sold, a well dressed man was standing. His name was Elio, a sales manager of the Grimoire Company. He stood exhausted while looking at the event area, and a female employee of the store was next to him.

「Ah… So the match is already over.」

He had been there when the match started, but left halfway through. Now that he was back, he saw that the playing tables had been taken away as they prepared to celebrate Leona’s victory.

「Yes, Leona will be moving up in the tournament.」

「I see, I had a hunch it would end like that.」

The employee replied, and Elio muttered like he already anticipated that result.

「But I’m more surprised by how you left in a hurry like that. Did something happen?」

That had happened around an hour prior. Elio had left the store just as the match was getting interesting. In response, he seemed a bit miffed as he said it had been all for nothing, before explaining what had happened. Basically, he had just received news from a trustworthy friend that a cute girl with long silver hair had been sighted.

「You know that flying ship that landed in the Academy’s courtyard yesterday? My friend was curious about it so he went to check it out before the match started. And according to him, he couldn’t see any flags or emblems on the flying ship…」

Elio began by explaining what that friend had told him. Flying ships were still a relatively new invention and extremely expensive, so most of them were owned by the governments of big countries. But the one in the Academy was different.

That ship had arrived carrying a large number of children, who would start living in the orphanage that had just opened next to the Academy. According to the students that had seen it, there were also a large number of spirits aboard that ship. Someone else mentioned that the ship had traveled from far away in Grimdart before arriving in Arkite. On top of that, many of the children were constantly talking about someone named Mira.

After that, Elio also brought up his cousin Furio, who was in the same line of work as him, and had mentioned the Spirit Queen a few days before.

「He was working in Haxthausen at the time, over in Grimdart. Things were pretty hectic there because of the Phantom Thief Fuzzy Dice, and he said that the Spirit Queen showed up there as well…」

Elio mentioned all of that while slowly connecting the dots. The Spirit Queen had been in Grimdart, then the flying ship came from Grimdart, and aboard that ship were many spirits.

「And more importantly, that Mira the children kept talking about! That’s the name of none other but the Spirit Queen!」

The Spirit Queen had recently become incredibly popular, but only by that name, with few knowing what her real name was. He only revealed that by the end, as the final clue that finally tied the person who came in the flying ship as the Spirit Queen, and the female employee looked shocked hearing that.

「Wait, so you’re telling me that the Spirit Queen is in this city now?」

「Yes, that’s what I believe. A cute girl with long silver hair is a pretty vague description, but with all the other evidence we gathered, I think it’s safe to assume that it’s her.」

The defeat of the great evil Chimera Clauzen had sent ripples across the entire continent, and the Grimoire Company was planning on releasing a booster pack themed around that event, which would include redesigned cards for adventurers that took part in the fight, as well as a new one for the Spirit Queen who had played such a pivotal role.

Finding her and getting her to sign an agreement to use her likeness in the card game had turned into the biggest priority for all employees of the Grimoire Company, which was why Elio ran out the moment he heard she might be in Arkite.

「Seeing your face, I’m guessing you couldn’t find her though?」

The female employee asked that, seeing how exhausted and defeated Elio looked.

「Yes…she slipped away. I heard there were sightings of her in an antique shop, but she was already gone when I got there…」

After running out of Astelia Home, he had followed directions and ran around the city following her footsteps, but it had been in vain.

In the end, he lost her trail in the antique shop, where he was unable to get any new leads, so he just searched nearby for a bit before admitting defeat and returning empty handed.

「That’s too bad. There’s that big bonus for whoever gets her to sign too.」

「Yeah, I know. There goes my chance to party it out in Bacchus…」

Elio sighed, realizing that the bigger the expectations, the bigger the disappointment.

Soon after that, a certain man came up running to the pair.

「Ema, have you seen a girl with long silver hair around here? I was told she left just a moment ago.」

That was the friend of Grandir, who stopped to ask the employee Ema before running aimlessly in the streets. He had first talked with the fans of Leona, who told him that the girl was a fan of Danbulf, and had just left.
