Chapter 604: Chapter 602: The King’s Return

Since the siege warfare erupted, the consumption of Truth City has been increasing day by day, especially after activating the supreme Formation that covers the entire city. The Formation was activated to defend the city, and the sorcerers naturally wouldn’t launch attacks at will, as doing so would exponentially deplete energy.

The purpose of attacking a certain Ancient King is to deter, to prevent the Alien Ancient Kings from being fearless.

After one strike, the effect was significant.

However, Truth City remained besieged, the battle stalemate continued, and compared to the previous days, the attack strength of the Alien Races had evidently increased a lot, while the sorcerers were still in a predicament as precarious as a pile of eggs.

One day.

Two days.

—-

Half a month.

The alien army was consistently kept outside the city walls.

The agreed time had arrived, and the Feather Tribe had not withdrawn. Anyone with a discerning eye could see that Truth City was on the verge of collapse, at any moment it might fall, now was the time to reap the final fruits.

In such circumstances, Elder Savanna of the Feather Tribe naturally wouldn’t lead the tribe to depart.

“Hahaha, the sorcerers inside are done for.”

“Everyone push harder, when the time comes, take revenge for grievances, and slaughter all the humans inside cleanly.”

Looking at the protective shield that was getting weaker by the day, the Alien Ancient Kings showed knowing smiles, amongst them, Jeteri of the Black Scales Tribe was particularly elated.

After these days of rest and recuperation, Jeteri had regained the ability to move, but had not yet fully recovered.

He stayed back, observing the battle, just waiting for the moment when the city’s defenses crumbled.

In stark contrast to the aliens outside the city, the sorcerers inside were very silent.

The majority of them were visibly exhausted, not wanting to waste energy saying too much. Talking was of no help, it was better to quietly maintain the operation of the supreme Formation, until they couldn’t squeeze any strength from their bodies.

As for how long Truth City could still hold out, they had no certainty in their hearts; perhaps only the two Great Sages knew.

“How much longer can we hold out?”

“According to the current situation, at least half a month.”

“That’s enough.”

Butler and Joy indeed knew, as all the instructions were conveyed through them. The two had an excellent grasp of Truth City’s situation.

Truth City seemed like it could fall at any moment, but in reality, there was still some reserve strength.

The variations in the protective shield were meant to lull those outside, all the while conserving energy.

Of course, Truth City truly couldn’t hold out for much longer. As long there were no unexpected occurrences, it was enough for the sorcerers, enough time to wait for the situation to reverse.

Time passed amidst flying missiles and battle flames.

Another day, two days, three days, four days, five days, six days.

Truth City was still teetering on the brink.

On this day of battle, Savanna inexplicably developed a strong ominous premonition. She stared blankly at the grand Formation in front of her that would possibly crumble at any moment, suddenly thinking of a possibility, and her complexion gradually turned grim and dark.

“Merwei, based on the earlier plan, we should leave this land now.”

“Elder, look at the clansmen around, who now still wants to withdraw? If we command to retreat at this time, wouldn’t we be faced with complaints?”

The Feather Tribe was not to be commanded by Elder Savanna alone. She merely tested the waters and immediately encountered opposition from another elder.

Savanna did not continue to persuade.

That very night, Savanna sought out the Trickster General and the Blood Slayer General from the Beast Plane for a consultation on certain matters.

“The two of you, I hope you can truthfully tell me some information.”

“Elder, please speak, we shall hold nothing back.”

Surprised by her visit, Trickster General and Blood Slayer General nonetheless kept the same cooperative attitude as before, as compliant as one could be.

“How long does it take to reach the Danaila Plane from your plane?” Savanna asked a critical question.

“About one year.” The two exchanged a glance before the Fox Commander gave the answer.

“How about at the speed of those Void King Wizards? You’re more familiar with sorcerers than us and should know that their actual combat ability is indeed extraordinary,” Savanna asked again.

Hearing her words, the two fell silent.

“Answer me!”

“Ten months.”

“What if at any cost, could nine months be enough?”

The pressing words from the other side shocked the two. Previously Void King Wizards had defected to the Extreme Beast Plane, and the Fox Commander and Blood Slayer Commander had infiltrated to fulfill their mission, naturally gaining an in-depth understanding of the sorcerer community, including the Void King at the top.

According to their understanding of the Void King Wizards, it was indeed possible to rush back to the Danaila Plane from the Extreme Beast Plane in nine months without sparing any expenses.

Looking at Truth City on the brink of collapse, they actually failed to realize this scenario, which was quite negligent.

“Possibly, right?”

Savanna observed the two’s reactions and affirmatively answered their previous question herself.

“How is that possible? No matter how hard they try, they could at most save half a month,” the Fox Commander caught on and hurriedly interjected.

Savanna ignored them and turned to walk away, quickly vanishing from sight.

The two exchanged a look, each with a different expression.

“Shall we retreat first?” the Blood Slayer Commander transmitted.

“There’s no time to delay; let’s leave immediately.”

The Fox Commander agreed without hesitation, suddenly realizing that based on the current situation, those Void King Wizards might be even more terrifying than what they knew, and it was possible they wouldn’t need nine months to return.

Perhaps those people had already reached the Danaila Plane and were hurrying here.

If not now, when?

As for the other Alien Races, they were not from the same plane and had nothing to do with them.

“Let’s go!”

Among the Four Great Generals of the Extreme Trees, the Fox Commander and Blood Slayer Commander were the best at preserving their lives; their talents for slipping away were indeed not in vain.

Within a moment, the two had left the army’s encampment and quietly flew off into the distance.

With two thuds, two figures fell from the sky onto the ground, crashing into the rocks and forming two pits, as two other figures appeared in the sky.

“Galif Fitzgerald, Ivan Marichadon, when did you come back?”

The Fox Commander looked incredulously at the two sorcerers above, guessing that they must have returned much earlier.

“This is our sorcerers’ territory; do we need to report to you when we come back?” The King of the Long Sky stared coldly at the two, looking at them as if they were dead.

“Back to camp!”

“You can’t leave.”

Knowing they were no match, the Fox Commander and Blood Slayer Commander wanted to return to the army’s camp to seek help from the other Ancient Kings, but how could the two Void King Wizards let them wish as they pleased? Spirit bodies were revealed, and with overwhelming power, they severely wounded the two on the spot.

For these two rats that had been causing trouble, Ivan and Galif were both very displeased; the former threw the Fox Commander into the fire copper furnace to suppress him inside.

The latter imprisoned the Blood Slayer Commander in the protection of the Nine-layered Breeze Tower.

Indeed, it’s difficult to annihilate Ancient King powerhouses. Under the current circumstances, the two were doomed to escape and would soon be suppressed to death by powerful treasures.

“Ivan, you all right?”

“With Black Soul Tower’s support, I’m doing quite well now.”

“Then follow me to collect some interest.”

After dealing with those attempting to flee at the fastest speed, Ivan and Galif set their sights on the Alien Races’ army encampment, eyes filled with thick intent to kill.

It’s time to settle accounts with these Alien Races!
