Starting My Cultivation With Time Management

Chapter 1029: 22: Talking at Cross Purposes

Chapter 1029: Chapter 22: Talking at Cross Purposes

Chen Guanshui stepped into the Tu Family village and noticed that the passing villagers were all staring at him.

This was a very normal phenomenon: after all, most people in a village know each other, and suddenly seeing an unfamiliar face clearly marked him as an outsider.

However, curiosity is one thing; the villagers did not come to inquire, but instead cautiously kept their distance from him.

Chen Guanshui naturally had no intention of conversing with these villagers—he was here to hide, not to visit for the New Year, and the fewer people who knew his real identity, the better.

He calmly walked through the village, heading in the direction of the Giant Tree Secret Realm he remembered.

After about an hour of wandering in the mountains, Chen Guanshui was startled to find that he couldn’t remember the location of the entrance to the Secret Realm.

After all, he had only been there once, and with so much time passing, forgetting was certainly a normal thing.

He instinctively ordered:

“Ah Jing, the last time’s Secret Realm location…”

Before he could finish, he remembered that Ah Jing had already left and had to change his inquiry:

“Suming, do you remember which way to the Giant Tree Secret Realm last time?”

“Of course I don’t remember,” replied the Summoning Sword.

“Not remembering is one thing, but why say ‘of course not’?” Chen Guanshui frowned and asked.

“Because I don’t have a recording function,” the Summoning Sword retorted confidently, “I’m just a sword, after all.”

“But you are one of the Fuxi Dual Swords!” Chen Guanshui emphasized, “The most powerful Flying Sword under the sky!”

“No matter how powerful a Flying Sword is, it’s still just a sword,” the Summoning Sword argued, “No matter how powerful, it can’t help you cook, sweep, do laundry, or remember things that are easy to forget.”

“I knew you weren’t as good as Ah Jing!” Chen Guanshui was quite frustrated.

So, he had no choice but to return to the Tu Family village and ask for directions.

After another quarter of an hour or so, Chen Guanshui returned to the village entrance and saw Ah Ling with a backpack full of herbs, leisurely walking in from outside.

Ah Ling?

He quickly remembered that this girl had initially pretended to be from Tu Family village, leading Ling Yunpo and other Shushan cultivators to that Secret Realm.

Her true identity, however, was Long Xiaoqi of the Eastern Emperor Path, a Jiaolong cultivator who frequently visited the Mortal Realm.

Since Long Xiaoqi was here, Shi Yao couldn’t be far… but Chen Guanshui was neither Qiu Changtian, Ling Yunpo, nor Luo Yan and had no identification as an Orthodox Sect cultivator, so he wasn’t afraid of Shi Yao recognizing him.

“Miss,” he called out to the returning Ah Ling, “may I ask for directions?”

“Oh,” Ah Ling stopped, “where is this guest planning to go?”

“I want to go to the Giant Tree Secret Realm,” Chen Guanshui stated bluntly.

Upon hearing the word “Secret Realm,” Ah Ling’s eyes narrowed immediately.

After a moment, she slowly asked, “May I ask which immortal you are? And where did you hear of this Secret Realm?”

Chen Guanshui replied, “My Taoist moniker is ‘Wang Shan,’ I’m just a Loose Cultivator, but I heard of it from a Shushan cultivator, which is why I’ve come to seek the Secret Realm.”

Ah Ling had her suspicions: that Giant Tree Secret Realm produced many rare flowers and herbs, and housed powerful Demonic Beasts. The former was Purple Mansion Secret Medicine for Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators, while the latter could hone magical combat skills and help break through cultivation bottlenecks.

It seemed this man was either of the Foundation Establishment Realm or Golden Core Realm, coming to that Secret Realm to seek fortune.

“The Giant Tree Secret Realm is not very far from here,” Ah Ling calmly replied, “Many cultivators have gone there to explore and seek treasures.”

“However, although I know where the Secret Realm is, I’ve never ventured deeply, so at most, I can only lead you to the entrance. You’ll have to navigate the interior yourself.”

“Thank you greatly, fellow Taoist!” Chen Guanshui was overjoyed.

“No need for gratitude, I’m just an ordinary mortal girl,” Ah Ling quickly got into character.

Chen Guanshui, of course, wouldn’t be fooled and maintained a respectful attitude since he needed something from her, showing no rudeness.

Ah Ling led him winding through the mountain paths, quickly arriving at the entrance to the Giant Tree Secret Realm.

As Chen Guanshui headed toward the Secret Realm, from the corner of his eye, he noticed Ah Ling waiting behind, not activating any ambush formations or traps, which surprised him.

After he disappeared into the Secret Realm, not long after, Shi Yao gracefully arrived from the distance using Sword Control.

“What’s the situation?” she coldly asked.

Ah Ling described Chen Guanshui’s characteristics in detail and thoroughly.

“Wang Shan…” Shi Yao pondered for a moment, “I haven’t heard of a cultivator by that name in the Three Pure Orthodox Sect, perhaps he really is a Loose Cultivator.”

“So what should we do?” Ah Ling asked.

“Let’s ignore him for now,” Shi Yao thought for a long time before slowly saying, “If it were someone from the Three Pure Orthodox Sect, we would ambush and kill him directly. A Loose Cultivator is of no concern.”

“Then I’ll go in and follow him to see if he truly is a Loose Cultivator,” Ah Ling said.

“Is your time to be wasted on such matters?” Shi Yao immediately reproached sternly.

Ah Ling stuck out her tongue and said nothing more.

As Shi Yao left using Sword Control, Ah Ling’s thoughts shifted slightly, and she turned back toward the Secret Realm.

This Secret Realm was her usual dwelling place, as no Human Race cultivators would come here, allowing her to confidently reveal her Jiaolong true body.

After circling the air for a search, she didn’t find any trace of that Loose Cultivator.

Ah Ling found it peculiar when she suddenly realized something and quickly turned toward a certain mountain valley.

The valley was originally home to a poisonous jiaolong, which was later slain by a crazed Taoist priest. Ah Ling had then entered the deep pool at the bottom of the valley, discovering the water concealed the poisonous jiaolong’s lair.
