Strongest Warlock - Wizard World Irregular
Chapter 1054: A World’s Fate [Part 3]This wasn’t Ethan’s first time experiencing an out-of-body situation.
His soul had previously even gone to the Lands of Saraqael not once, but thrice.
Given his history, he understood that there must be something very wrong with what was happening to him right now.
A red crystal was stuck in his chest, and several web-like threads, which were glowing in red light, spread across his entire body.
"Who dares to covet the Realm that belongs to the Gargoyles?"
A voice filled with killing intent and malice asked, making Ethan’s soul tremble.
The young man slowly opened his eyes and found himself in what seemed to be outer space, with the sun and the moon shining their light upon him.
Not far from him, a purple Gargoyle looked at him in ridicule.
Ethan knew then and there that this being was an enemy he had to fight. However, he couldn’t feel any strength in his body.
In fact, even the act of moving was nearly impossible, and all he could do was glare back at the Gargoyle, who found his reaction quite amusing."It’s a good thing I placed a curse on the Core of the Arkanthos just in case the Guardian of the world was defeated," the Will of the Gargoyle Progenitor said with a smile. "Child, I will make you pay for trying to usurp my rule. I will toy with your soul and devour you until nothing is left.
"Your body left in the real world will be nothing but an empty shell. However, you don’t have to worry. I will take your place and make sure to make your loved ones suffer."
Ethan felt a blazing fury surge within his soul, but no matter what he did, the curse that had been placed upon his body made him feel so weak that he couldn’t even fight back.
The Purple Gargoyle slowly moved in Ethan’s direction, enjoying the pain and suffering that he was feeling.
But what the Purple Gargoyle liked the most was the look of defiance in the young man’s eyes, which seemed to say that he wouldn’t allow the Gargoyle to hurt those whom he held sacred.
"Brat, know that I, Zorathul, was the one who ended your life," Zorathul declared. "Although I am only a Will of my True Self, I am more than enough to deal with the likes of you."
The Purple Gargoyle laughed as he reached out to touch Ethan’s head with a devilish smile on its monstrous face.
"Your soul is mine!" Zorathul shouted.
But just as his hand was about to touch Ethan’s forehead, a beam of light slammed against the Purple Gargoyle’s chest, pushing him dozens of meters away.
"Get your hands off my man!"
Ethan forced himself to turn his head to the side and saw Chloe hovering a few meters away like a ghost.
Her body was completely white and almost transparent, which was normal for souls who were wandering in the Astral Realm.
"How did you get here?!" Zorathul asked. "No, you don’t need to answer. I’ll just get the answer from your soul after I devour it!"
Chloe frowned because she knew that she wasn’t a match against the fragment of Will that seemed to have planted itself inside the World Core.
The Gargoyle Progenitor didn’t wish for anyone to take control of Arkanthos because it was an important Realm that belonged to him. Continue your adventure with empire
Although he believed that no one would be able to defeat his subordinates, he still planted a part of his Will into the World Core.
He did this so that when the time for the new Guardian to gain dominion over the world, his Will would emerge and take over that person’s body by devouring their soul and memories!
Knowing how dire the situation was, Chloe didn’t hesitate and vanished temporarily from the Astral Plane.
Her consciousness returned to her body, and as soon as that happened, she raised the Stone of Destiny and pierced her chest with it, surprising the Protectors who had encircled Ethan.
Before anyone could react, Ethan and Chloe vanished, fading into nothingness right under everyone’s nose.
She then reappeared in the Astral Realm, and this time, she was no longer nearly transparent like a ghost.
She had brought her body with her, allowing her to use all of her abilities to the fullest.
"Ethan, I’ll buy you some time," Chloe said as she pressed her finger over Ethan’s forehead.
A moment later, Ethan’s transparent body solidified as his real body merged with his Astral Body.
The weakness he felt was still there. However, he was slowly starting to recover now that his soul had returned to his vessel.
Zorathul could tell that something out of his calculations was happening, so he no longer tarried. Without wasting a second, he lunged at Chloe with the intention of eliminating her first.
Chloe raised the stone of destiny in front of her and chanted.
"Lia Fáil na’talann eithne!"
The Stone of Destiny hummed, and a barrier materialized to protect her and Ethan from the Purple Gargoyle.
A look of contempt flashed in Zorathul’s eyes as he smashed his fist on the barrier, creating a small crack on its surface.
"Resistance is futile!" Zorathul roared as he continued to pummel the barrier, causing more cracks to appear on its surface.
Chloe’s eyes shone with power as she erected another barrier just as the first one shattered under the Gargoyle Progenitor’s onslaught.
New cracks formed on the second barrier, prompting Chloe to create a third one.
Blood seeped at the corner of her lips as she put all of her strength in the stone of destiny, creating another barrier.
However, before the fourth barrier could form, the Purple Gargoyle unleashed a breath attack that broke past Chloe’s defenses.
The young lady was then hit by the attack and was sent flying.
If not for the Lia Fail shielding her at the last second, mitigating the full brunt of the Breath Attack, Chloe’s body and soul would have already been annihilated by Zorathul’s Will.
Not wanting to waste anymore time and to prevent any more variables the chance to interfere, the Purple Gargoyle lunged at Ethan to finally claim his prize.
"Not on our watch!"
The Sea God’s Trident and Areadbhair materialized in front of Ethan and clashed with the Purple Gargoyle, blocking his path.
Sebastian and Ethan’s Other Half took over the two weapons and attacked the Purple Gargoyle with fury.
Chloe drifted in space, unconscious.
This was extremely dangerous, and the only saving grace was that Lia Fail was with her, allowing Sebastian and Ethan’s Other Half to prioritize stopping the Purple Gargoyle first.
Ethan, who had seen his lover suffer injuries because of him, was already beyond furious.
The curse that had been spreading inside his body earlier was now being absorbed by his body, which had the power to take in any form of magic or power, regardless of its form and where it came from.
This curse transformed into magic that flowed through his magical circuits, which had almost been emptied earlier.
It then traveled toward Ethan’s Soul Core, where Nicole’s Origin Crystal was flickering faintly as if it had been sapped of its power earlier.
When the magical flow reached the Origin Crystal, it started to glow and rotate, once again coming to life.
"Get out of my way!" Zorathul roared and sent the two persistent spears flying as he swatted them with all of his might.
Although he was just a Will of his True Self, he was still the Will of a Progenitor, making him incredibly powerful.
Just as the Purple Gargoyle thought that he had finally dealt with the annoying pests, a fist suddenly appeared in his vision.
The next second, he was sent flying backward as an enraged Ethan raised his fist a second time, smashing Zorathul’s face again.
He wasn’t fully recovered, but he had recovered enough to fight.
Deep inside of him, the Red Crystal of Arkanthos spun beside Nicole’s Origin Crystal, feeding Ethan with the power and authority that belonged to the Realm of the Gargoyles.
His assimilation of the world had begun, but Ethan didn’t give a damn about it at the moment.
The only thing in his mind was to beat the crap out of Zorathul and make him pay for hurting his lover in front of him!
***
Somewhere in the vast multiverse, a Purple Gargoyle wearing a crown slowly opened his eyes.
"Someone is trying to gain the authority of Arkanthor."
This Purple Gargoyle was the true body of Zorathul, who reigned over a few realms that he had conquered in the past.
Arkanthos stood up from his throne and disappeared a second later.
He was headed in the direction Arkanthos to get in the way of whoever was trying to take over what originally belonged to him!
