The party was like fine wine, getting better as the night deepened.
After Xenia had her fill with dancing, she decided to watch the performers, singers, and other entertainers who belonged to various Jinn factions.
He didn’t know if they were all pressured to perform, but aside from the Velmoria Royal Family, the other factions had sent an entertainer to perform in front of Prince Aurelion and the Artemians.
As someone who had come to observe the relationship between the Jinns, it was very obvious to Lucan that the other factions weren’t fond of Prince Aurelion.
Everyone simply heeded his orders because he was the strongest. While that might be the case, it didn’t mean that the other factions were weak.
If the other factions currently had the Majin Princes and Majin Princesses from their faction with them, the Artemian Commander was certain that Prince Aurelion would treat them better.
Though there was one exception.
Zia.
Since her arrival, the Velmoria Royal Family was treated like VIP Guests, and was even sharing the same table as Prince Aurelion.
This display of favoritism was a double-edged sword.
While they might be fine now, the other Jinn Factions might start to hate them and scheme behind their backs.
This would put the succubus race in a precarious position, which was what Prince Aurelion was hoping for.
In order to win Zia’s heart, he needed to put silent pressure on the Velmoria Royal Family, so they would turn to him for help if things went awry.
His plan was simple.
Make them rely on him more until he was their only option.
Once he was on that pedestal, it would be very easy for him to make Zia his woman, especially in Pangea, where no other forces could come to their rescue.
Lucan was well aware of this and couldn’t help but acknowledge the Dragonkin Prince for his slyness.
If he were in the Prince’s shoes, he would probably do the same.
‘She’s worth that much,’ Lucan thought. ‘Especially since she holds a secret that the Jinns were unaware of.’
The blood of the Chandrean Royal Family was very special—all their descendants had the blood of a Celestial flowing inside their veins.
This power, which only they could control and manifest, was something the King of Artemian wished to possess.
This was why he had used his own daughter to advance his rank and gain the power of a celestial.
And now, that opportunity was presented to Lucan.
Without the influence of the Artemian King, he could build his own forces and increase his strength.
Once he became a High-Archon, the same rank as the Artemian King, he would no longer have to fear him.
Lucan could feel the heat of desire in his loins and the flames of ambition burn in his heart.
Because of this, he had made up his mind.
Before they return to their headquarters in Cressmont City, he would bring the succubus princess with him.
‘I just need to make sure that no evidence left will trace back to me,’ Lucan thought.
Right now, he didn’t want to make the Jinns their enemy.
Although he wasn’t afraid of them, if they really fought with their armies, it would lead to a lot of casualties.
Even if they won, it would become a pyrrhic victory. If the Wanderers took advantage of this, they’d be wiped off completely.
“Oh!” Zia cried out in surprise because Prince Aurelion had tipped his wine glass, making the wine spill on her chest, drenching her clothes wet.
“I’m sorry, princess,” Prince Aurelion said in an apology. “I might have drank too much, so my hand slipped a bit.”
Lucan and Succubus Princesses only sneered in their heart, knowing it was nearly impossible for the Dragonkin Prince to get drunk.
Clearly, it had been done on purpose, soon proven true by his next course of action.
“Someone, bring the princess to the changing room for a change of clothes,” Prince Aurelion ordered.
A moment later, two Dragonkin ladies approached Zia, bowing to her respectfully.
“Please, follow us, princess,” one of the ladies said. “We will take you to the changing room.”
Zia glanced at her sisters for help, and Princess Xynalia and Princess Laventia both moved to help her.
“We will come along to help her change,” Princess Xynalia said.
“Good.” Prince Aurelion nodded as he smiled mischievously at the two princesses. “Take your time.”
Ristella eyed her nieces, and the two nodded in understanding.
They then followed the two Dragonkin ladies to the back room so Zia could change her dress.
It was already nearing midnight, and for the most part, the party was also about to end.
The moment Zia disappeared, the brightness of the venue seemed to have dimmed a bit.
Clearly, the young lady’s presence had a profound effect on everyone, like a small candle inside a room of darkness.
Lucan and Prince Aurelion chatted a bit, but they only discussed minor things pertaining to a possible alliance.
They would hold their business talk tomorrow. The party tonight was simply to celebrate their arrival.
“Well, the night is not getting any younger,” Prince Aurelion said. “I think it’s time for our guests to retire. Please lead them to their temporary residence in the city.”
A few more Dragonkin ladies appeared and bowed their heads at their guests.
Lucan frowned a bit. Zia and the succubus sisters still hadn’t returned from the changing room.
Ristella was also getting worried, so he asked Prince Aurelion if she could see her nieces.
“Of course, you can go,” Prince Aurelion smiled faintly. ‘Not that you would be able to do anything even if you went.’
He had already made his preparations a day ago after seeing Zia, but when he noticed Lucan’s and the Artemian’s gazes on his future wife, he felt a little threatened. How could he be unfamiliar with those gazes?
Greed, lust, and ambition.
He knew it very well because he was the same as them.
And since he felt threatened, he decided to make Zia his woman before anyone else could take her from him.
Lucan eyed the Dragonkin Prince one last time before giving him a brief nod of goodbye.
He already understood what was happening, so he decided to also make his move.
The Artemian Commander and the current Leader of the Jinns shook hands one last time before parting ways.
One had a lustful and smug grin on his face, while the latter looked calm as if he was certain that the Dragonkin Prince wouldn’t be able to pluck the flower that he had set his sights on.
Both were confident in their abilities to possess what they wanted, and they wouldn’t hesitate to use any means to have it.
