The dragon's harem

Chapter 1350 - 1350: Half-angel Night I

Arad rested on the bed, looking at the starry sky through the window, and the muscles on his back twitched, contracting and twisting as he cracked the unspread wings. He had once learned a valuable lesson from Nina, and it was that, for the most part, he can’t just dive into fire.

Through his glowing purple eyes, he could see three different scenes, all similar but not like one another. Here in the Half-angel kingdom, he was in this vast room with Aella, Mira, Tina, Kali, Diana, Isabelle, and Valeria, as well as the maid Jina and the other four maids that served them in the VIP room.

For now, Valeria took Serin to the next room to put her to sleep while everyone else stayed. Aella and Mira were already ready and waiting. Tina got used to it long ago, and Kali was happily humming as she brushed her hair with six arms. Diana silently sat beside her goddess, her eyes closed and her hands moving on their own, handing Kali brushes and oil whenever she needed them. The strangest one was Isabelle, who sat naked on the bed, shifting the details of her body with her fingers and occasionally asking Arad for his input.

“Say, how tall should be?” She looked at Arad, and he sighed, “Why are you asking me? Pick whatever you like.”

She looked at him and then at her long, pale legs. “Of course, I’d ask you.” She then turned to Kali, “What do you say?”

Kali looked at her, “Besides you, there is only one halfling among his wives. So I’d say he’d rather have someone a bit taller than his knee. How about you turn into a two-meter halfling?” Kali leaned back on her chair and stretched her arms, “Or, a meter and half, half Arad’s height. Halflings are called halflings because they are half the height of an elf, after all.”

Isabelle smiled, “Yeah! So I can be a half-Aradling!” She grabbed herself by the head and stretched her body upward, growing from just three feet in height to almost five feet, half Arad’s ten feet in height, which made her only a tiny bit shorter than Tina.

Aella looked at her, “You look…weird.”

Mira also gasped, “Ugly is more like it. Your torso is stretched like a snake.”

Isabelle looked down and burst laughing. Her legs were still the same length, and only her abdomen had stretched. “Sorry! I should’ve thought about that!” She quickly fixed herself and then looked at Aella, “You’re his wife, the first one he met. Care to give me some pointers? Of course, I’m not trying to copy you or anything.”

She approached her with sparkling eyes to the point that Aella pushed her away, “Calm down. Fine, but first, fix your arms as well.”

After Isabelle fixed her body’s proportions and set them straight, it was time to change the small details. First, Aella informed her that Arad would prefer a fit body like Mira and her than anything else. For their endurance, if nothing more.

Hearing that, Isabelle drew some abs on her abdomen and made them vaguely visible, plumped her back a bit, and even gave her tights a small pump in thickness.

“Do you know how much it takes to develop abs like the one you just pulled out of nowhere?” Mira sighed. She had spent years working as a carpenter, swinging hammers and carrying heavy slabs of wood to develop her well-tuned body. It was quite overwhelming to see Isabelle freely shift her body as she fancies.

“I know, years, if not more.” Isabelle leaned on her arms and then looked back at Aella, “So, about the important bits. How large or small should I get them? My butt and chest, I mean.”

Aella grabbed the pillow and swung at her, “Why are you asking me? Make them whatever! Just don’t turn yourself into a disgusting ogre!”

Isabelle dodged Aella’s strike with a jump and landed on the bed, taking a stance and ready to fight. “Come on, bring it on.” She spawned a pillow out of thin air and started spinning it.

Mira also lifted a pillow and got ready to fight. Since it was Kali who recommended her, Aella and Mira didn’t have that many problems with Isabelle, or at least not yet since it was her first day around. Nothing beats a little squabble to know how a person would act.

As the three fought with pillows over the bed, Arad stood and took a seat on one of the chairs close to the window. Jina, the half-angel maid, approached him, “Lord Arad, want me to get them to stop?”

“No, let them play.” He looked at her, “So you’re here, how come so?”

She looked back at the four maids behind her, “Thanks to you and Aella, they won enough money to retire.” She scratched her chin, “But we won’t miss the chance to work in a family that has a goddess as one of the wives.” She looked back at Kali.

One of the maids added, “Forget the rich nobles and royalty. We’re working under a goddess. No one will miss such an opportunity.”

Arad sighed, “You know I’m not talking about that.”

“I know.” Jina shook her head, “If you’re good for a goddess, you’re far better than any of us deserves.”

Kali, who was still doing her hair, looked at them, “Come on, he is even out of my league. I should be his servant, not wife.”

The maids laughed, and the only one who still had a serious face was Diana.

“Lady Kali, are you sure about this?” She glared at her, and Kali stopped laughing, “Then tell me, what do you think?”

Diana looked at Arad for a while, “He is strong, quite adept, and far better than any mortal I’ve ever seen. But something about him is off.” She looked at the ceiling, “I feel like the bright ones are watching all the time.”

“The bright ones.” Kali smiled, “No, they aren’t watching. Those old angels will only shift their gaze to the mortal world when something important happens.”

“Who are the bright ones?” Arad asked, and Kali waved her hand, “They are nothing important, just the angels of the first overgod AO. They are indifferent to the matters of the world and universe. So you can ignore them.” She pointed up, “They are all above in their heaven, kneeling down and waiting as they’ve been doing for the past eons. The weakest of them is on the level of a lesser god, and the strongest ones are only a bit weaker than me and Amaterasu.”

Kali stood and threw a glance at the three fighting in the back. “Aella, Mira, shouldn’t you two get going so we can have a chance to have some fun as well?”

Diana stood, “Then I’ll be leaving.”

Kali called her, “You should stay.”

Diana looked at her, “Is that an order?”

“Just an advice. You can ignore it if you want.”

Diana stood for a minute and then sighed, “Fine.” If an Archon like her had learned anything in her life, it is that the strongest gods don’t need to deceive or trick people. She approached the bed, “I’ll try and see where the wisdom of a goddess takes me.” She glared at Arad with a faint fire burning in her eyes, only to get grabbed from the back of her neck by Kali.

“You’re the submissive one. We all are. Don’t embarrass me and yourself in the future.” Kali really wanted to tell her that she was standing in front of AO, but that fact should be tightly controlled until the fates decide it’s time to make it known.

If Kali knew one thing, it is that the primordials should trust each other’s judgment no matter what. When Kali tried to kill Creation, Creation didn’t even try to resist. Because Kali is Destruction, and she knows when something must be destroyed. In the same way, the fates know what’s fated to happen and when.
