Chapter 122: Trying Everything To Kill You
Trying Everything To Kill You . . .
The method to escape this dire predicament might have seemed like a myth in the Land of Han-Yang, but it was a common practice in the Qing-Yun Realm. Gu Jin-Long was acutely aware of this.
As he remained firmly affixed to the Cosmic Hades, Gu Jin-Long contemplated his options. If Feng Zhi-Ling were foolish enough to extend a helping hand, it could alter the course of events. There was a slim chance of escape, and Gu Jin-Long was willing to seize it, even if it meant sacrificing Feng Zhi-Ling.
In Gu Jin-Long's mind, his own life held the utmost importance, surpassing any potential benefits that Feng Zhi-Ling might offer in the future. He rationalized his decision, convincing himself that friends were merely pawns to be manipulated and discarded when necessary. It didn't trouble him to employ this tactic.
After all, he had the capacity to eliminate his own wife, who had faithfully waited for him for half a century. Letting a man he had only recently met perish in his place was a relatively simple matter for him.
With unwavering confidence in Feng Zhi-Ling's perceived honesty and humility, Gu Jin-Long resolved to mourn the man's sacrifice for the rest of his life.
However, when Gu Jin-Long observed Feng Zhi-Ling's unyielding stance, he became perplexed. Feng Zhi-Ling remained immobile, displaying no intention of extending assistance.
Frustrated and unable to turn his head to address Feng Zhi-Ling directly, Gu Jin-Long resorted to shouting his frustration at the Cosmic Hades.
"Hey, hey, hey," sneered Cha-Eun Xiao, his tone laced with mockery. "Gu Jin-Long, what exactly do you expect me to do?"
This unexpected response sent shockwaves through Gu Jin-Long. Things weren't unfolding as favorably as he had envisioned. He felt an abrupt chill creeping over him.
"You…" Gu Jin-Long stammered.
With a sardonic grin, Cha-Eun Xiao continued, "I invested considerable effort in creating this flawless trap, just for you to stumble into it like a pig awaiting slaughter. And now, you have the audacity to ask me for assistance? To lay down my life for you? Do you truly believe I am ignorant of the consequences of touching you?"
He continued to taunt, "Perhaps you assumed I would be touched by your plea, thinking, 'Oh, Brother Feng, I will always remember your kindness.' Is that it, Gu Jin-Long?" Cha-Eun Xiao's laughter rang out. "Hahahaha… You are indeed naive and pitiful."
Enraged and on the brink of spitting out blood, Gu Jin-Long retorted, "You… What is the meaning of this? What is happening?"
Without further ado, Cha-Eun Xiao decided to take action. He seized a broadsword he had prepared earlier and swung it with all his might, aiming for Gu Jin-Long's head.
"I'm taking action," he declared as the blade descended.
Terrified, Gu Jin-Long screamed, "Please... Have mercy…"
As Cha-Eun Xiao continued his relentless assault on Gu Jin-Long, the cave echoed with a cacophony of clashes and screams. Gu Jin-Long, though initially begging for mercy, had now thrown defiance to the wind.
"Mercy my ass," Cha-Eun Xiao shouted, his strikes unrelenting. He aimed at Gu Jin-Long's head, believing that a well-placed blow could end this nightmare. But to his astonishment, it felt like hitting solid steel, and the broadsword in his hand shattered into pieces with a resounding "Kuang!"
Gu Jin-Long seized the opportunity to taunt his captor. "I have cultivated my body for more than five thousand years," he declared arrogantly. "Even though I can't harness my spiritual power to fortify myself, my body is as hard as steel. You, Feng Zhi-Ling, are too weak. You can't kill me. All you can do is wait for me to escape. I swear I'll hunt you down, no matter where you flee. I am the blessed one! What could you possibly do to me? Hahahaha..."
His laughter, fueled by the ineffectiveness of Cha-Eun Xiao's attacks, echoed through the cave. He no longer begged for mercy; instead, he reveled in his apparent invincibility.
Undeterred, Cha-Eun Xiao reached for another weapon and swung it toward Gu Jin-Long's neck. He thought that targeting the neck, a vital part of the human body, might yield different results. But once again, the blade met the same fate as the others—it shattered into pieces upon impact.
Frustration gnawed at Cha-Eun Xiao's mind. He couldn't comprehend how this seemingly invulnerable foe remained unscathed. He felt a growing sense of dread as he continued his relentless assault, striking Gu Jin-Long's body with various weapons, even targeting his private parts.
Through the pain and humiliation, Gu Jin-Long's fury only intensified. "Feng Zhi-Ling," he snarled, "you continue to insult me like this. I'll kill you, you bastard. I'll tear you into pieces, imprison your soul for millennia, and subject you to eternal suffering."
Cha-Eun Xiao listened to Gu Jin-Long's angry tirade, his expression unchanged, but his thoughts were in turmoil. It was becoming apparent that Gu Jin-Long's body was impervious to harm. This realization left him astonished.
Cha-Eun Xiao had initially relied on the Cosmic Hades, believing it could both immobilize and weaken Gu Jin-Long. However, it seemed that his plan had only worked partially. While the Cosmic Hades had indeed immobilized Gu Jin-Long, it had not fully absorbed his formidable spiritual power.
"Gu Jin-Long is unable to move now," Cha-Eun Xiao contemplated, "but if his power isn't completely absorbed, he might break free sooner or later. If that happens, it'll be my demise."
As this life-and-death struggle continued in the icy depths of the cave, Cha-Eun Xiao knew that his own survival depended on finding a solution quickly, or else this would become the greatest joke of his life.
Cha-Eun Xiao's relentless assault on Gu Jin-Long continued unabated. He targeted every vulnerable spot—throat, neck, head, eyes, ears, back, waist, legs, and even the crotch. An array of weapons, each one chosen for its potential to inflict harm, were employed in his desperate bid to bring down the seemingly invincible Gu Jin-Long.
Yet, to Cha-Eun Xiao's mounting frustration, Gu Jin-Long remained unharmed. He stood resolute, stoically enduring the barrage of attacks. His clothing bore the brunt of the onslaught, reduced to tattered remnants. Despite this, his skin bore only faint marks, far from any serious injury. It was as if his body was impervious to harm.
However, while Gu Jin-Long remained physically unscathed, he could not escape the pain that accompanied the relentless strikes. His pride was further wounded each time his crotch became the target of Cha-Eun Xiao's attacks. Though he had not suffered true injury, the indignity of the situation weighed heavily on him.
Meanwhile, the Cosmic Hades showed no signs of relenting. Its insatiable appetite for Gu Jin-Long's presence persisted, drawing him in like a moth to a flame. In addition to its overwhelming attraction, the Cosmic Hades exuded an intense cold, transforming the once-vibrant mountain into a frozen wasteland. The gelid qi radiated outward, forming a formidable ice dragon that stretched into the distance, freezing all in its path.
The entire mountain had been transformed into an icy spectacle, glistening under the harsh sunlight. The cave's entrance had been sealed by a thick layer of ice, trapping Cha-Eun Xiao and Gu Jin-Long in an arctic prison.
Despite the freezing conditions, Cha-Eun Xiao's determination remained unwavering. He continued his relentless assault, using all available weapons in a frenzied attempt to break through Gu Jin-Long's defenses. Swords, axes, spears—all became fierce whirlwinds striking at Gu Jin-Long's unyielding form.
However, the outcome remained frustratingly consistent. Weapons shattered into fragments, littering the cave floor, while Gu Jin-Long bore nothing more than white marks on his resilient body. It was an exercise in futility, with Cha-Eun Xiao's efforts falling short.
In a final act of desperation, Cha-Eun Xiao produced a needle—a small, inconspicuous tool. He intended to target Gu Jin-Long's most vulnerable spot, his eye. As he moved to strike, Gu Jin-Long recognized the gravity of the situation. The needle in Cha-Eun Xiao's hand was no ordinary implement; it posed a significant threat.
Refusing to let it make contact with his eye, the softest and most vulnerable part of his body, Gu Jin-Long clamped his eyes shut. The needle found its mark on his eyelid, eliciting a guttural scream of agony from the otherwise unflinching man. "AHHHH…" Gu Jin-Long cried out, the pain searing through him.
As the cave remained locked in ice and the struggle continued, Cha-Eun Xiao knew that time was running out. This relentless battle had pushed him to the brink, and he had to find a solution before it became his own undoing.
