Moonheim City, the central-western part of the Scarlet Banes Kingdom.
It was snowing in this part of the land.
A blizzard swept through hard—dropping the temperature to almost an unbearable level but the people living in this city were not disturbed by the climate at all. Having warm blood, the Werewolves here were completely immune to the cold.
Considering the amount of Alphas roaming around, it was clear that the city was important.
One of the biggest cities inside the kingdom, second only to the capital city.
Packs of Werewolves could be seen roaming around the hills and edges, meticulously doing their duties to secure the area from any mutated animals or other threats that might appear and threaten the city.
Each Alpha leading these packs was at least in the early ninth-rank realm.
Compared to the mid-rank Supernaturals, the quality of their patrols was unparalleled.
Being able to spare ninth-rank realm entities as patrols displayed that clearly.
In the central part of Moonheim City, located between the two tallest hills was a castle.Having a grandeur unlike any other normal castle—as well as being spotlighted by the moon above, the host of the castle was certainly someone important. Higher than an Alpha Prime, a Royalty.
Perched in front of the castle were numerous wolf creatures and other mutated animals.
A saddle equipped each one of these mutated animals.
From the defiant, untamed nature of these mutated animals and also their strength, some reaching even the ninth-rank realm—these mutated animals definitely belonged to strong individuals of the Scarlet Banes Kingdom.
Surely, there was a gathering, powerful figures were summoned to this castle.
Inside the castle, the sound of a discussion could be heard echoing across the corridor.
It came from a particular room near the throne room.
"Your Highness, we should do something—the longer this continues, the worse it is for us"
"I agree—having two sovereigns was never our way, this would only split our forces, into two and weaken us in a larger scope. We have the advantage in this Second Breath—the animals treated us as a part of them and wouldn't attack us unless provoked. We should be out there—scouring the land, not cramped here"
Ten Alpha Primes had been gathered in this room, sitting on their own thrones.
Each one of them was one of the strongest out of the Alpha Primes.
Sitting on a higher throne at the center against the wall was a female Werewolf, a princess.
She was draped in spiky armor, the spikes, and sharp edges across her armor were golden in color while the base color of the armor was pale black. Listening to the Alpha Primes' worries—her face was sullen.
A lot of things were drilling holes inside her mind, the reason for her silence.
As she contemplated, the discussion grew more intense.

Most of the Alpha Primes were voicing out their troubles for the tension that was looming over their kingdom. It has been tense since the death of Prince Leif, the people were split into two sides, dividing their kingdom and its power in half.
Of course, this was a battle for power between Princess Selene and Prince Alaric.
None of the two were strong enough to overwhelm the other.
Because of that, the Alpha Prrimes under the kingdom were split into two sides.
Not to mention, rumors circulated around—that Prince Alaric was attempting to merge their kingdom—with the newly established Clarentium Empire. It wasn't accepted well by a lot of Alpha Primes so the tide was turning against him.
More Alpha Primes would support Princess Selene's ascension to the throne.
But even then, the power struggle continues.
"Your Highness, we should pressure the Alpha Primes, who are on Prince Alaric's side. Some of them were located between our territories, we could easily pressure them to abandon the other side"
"Let's slowly push on their border and force them to submission"
"It's not the time to defend, we need to attack. I heard the Vampires had found a well of the celestial blood and were strengthening their forces with it. Likewise—the Undead is also on the verge of a breakthrough in power as well as their spell combination"
"Yes, we need to move!"
"Attack!"
"We'll crush the other side!"
Just as the discussion heated up—Princess Selene lifted her hand lightly.
In an instant, the Alpha Primes were silenced, returning the room to its original peace.
Princess Selene paused for a second in contemplation.
'Dear Origin... help me choose the right choice' She pondered inside, massaging her brows.
Once she calmed down a little, suppressing the noise inside her mind, she turned to an Alpha Prime to her right—Zerul of the Lightless Pack, "What about Sven? Have you located him? He is needed"
"It's hard tracking him but I'm sure he left our territory" Zerul replied with a heavy sigh.
Finding Sven was a pain.
Being the bastard son of the Origin, he has a peculiar scent that couldn't be traced.
His aura was untraceable, invisible to their senses.
"Even if I found them—what good does he make?" Zerul added questioningly. "He can not be reasoned with, only liked to brawl savagely, and would most likely attack us the same, as our enemies"
"Having him by our side would pull more Alpha Primes to me," Princess Selene replied.
Regardless of Sven's nature, he commands a massive presence—in the Werewolf Society.
Many revered him so having him would be beneficial.
"What about the Ice and Snow Princess? Is there any news from her?" She continued.
But once again—Zerul shook his head, "No... She disappeared—after helping the Royal Black Prince like a ghost. I already sent out thirty packs to scour outside of our territories but there is no news from them"
Upon hearing this, Princess Selene sighed and leaned her head back.
Flashes of the battle she had against the Royal Black Prince always haunted her mind.
She never felt so overwhelmed before—the memory still made her senses tingle.
It was as if she could still feel the pressure from the prince's aura directly.
Her body remembered it vividly.
'Should I confirm the rumor, about the Royal Black Prince's desire to make us his vassal?' She pondered deeply, still undecided—about her decision. Despite all eyes being on her, she kept her silence—and tapped her claw against the handrest. 'If I did—then there will be no turning back. I will be a real opposition against him'
Princess Selene couldn't reach a decision.
On one side, she didn't want the Werewolves to be under the Clarerntium Empire.
But on the other, she knew how strong the Royal Black Prince was.
Even back then when the previous Royal Black Prince was around, he held immense power in the Werewolf Kingdom—second only to the Origin. If the current Royal Black Prince sat in the position of power, it wouldn't be weird.
However, the current Royal Black Prince is different.
He is a Werewolf-Human Hybrid.
'I could expose the truth about Prince Leif's death,' Princess Selene stared ahead, vacantly.
If she did that—she would definitely win the power struggle against Prince Alaric since it was he who announced Prince Leif's death was caused by the Angels. Being caught in a lie would drop his image from grace.
Coupled with the fact that Prince Alaric wanted to merge the kingdom with the killer, it would be smooth sailing for Princess Selene. But as she thought that she reached for her nape. She was assaulted by a sudden chill.
Doing that would be the end of Prince Alaric's reign.
Despite that, she also felt that it would also be her end in this world.
"It is the strongest who should rule..." Princess Selene muttered whisperingly.
She quoted those words from the Werewolf Origin himself.
Suddenly, the massive door into the room was opened.
Zerul raised his gaze, and saw that it was one of his pack members, his trusted Beta along with several other Betas belonging to the Alpha Primes gathered here. Stepping forward— Zerul's Beta announced, "Forgive the intrusion but an uninvited visitor has arrived"
"Who is it...?" Princess Selene spoke, her voice boomed with command.
Pivoting towards her, the Beta paused in hesitance, "It's Valkis, he wished to meet with you"
"Valkis...?" Princess Selene frowned in surprise.
Out of the Alpha Primes, she could be sure that Valkis was on Prince Alaric's side.
"Bring him here," She commanded, waving her hand in dismissal.
Moments later.
Zeul's Beta and a couple more returned back to the room with Valkis at the center, he was escorted strictly—as if he were a prisoner. Once Valkis entered the room, he was instantly bombarded with the Alpha Primes' unfriendly look.
Some were blatantly showing it, looking at him as if he was something disgusting.
And some were keeping their face neutral but still exuded an unfriendly air.
He managed to reach Moonhime City that very night, thanks to the newly awakened Shaman who was immediately ordered by both Prince Alaric, and Princess Selene to connect all major in preparation for the Second Breath.
Of course, teleporting here instantly wasn't possible.
Valkis needed to go through multiple cities and finally stopped at a nearby city.
"What's this gathering about?" Valkis asked in a teasing tone. "Why am I not invited?"
"I shall have your head decorating this place!"
"You traitorous fool! Do you think we'll let you go easily after you came here to mock us?!"
Almost instantly, the Alpha Primes barked back in anger.
Despite knowing that he was not welcome here, Valkis dared to step into the city alone.
"Your Highness, there's no need to listen to him. He only came here to cause trouble—to only show us—that they knew about this gathering" Zeul intervened—his tone laced, with disdain. "It will only be a waste of time"
Upon hearing this, Princess Selene lifted her hand again, silencing the room.
Her sharp feline eyes gazed into Valkis for a moment, raising the tension inside the room.
Eventually, she opened her mouth, "Why have you come here searching for me?"
"I bring news and I don't think having them here is appropriate for the news" He replied.
Almost instantly, an Alpha Prime bearing the Blood Moon King Mark slapped his hand against the handrest, and stood up, "Absurd!" He thundered, pointing his claw at Valkis. "Who do you think we are?! Show some respect!"
Pivoting towards Princess Selene, this Alpha Prime saluted with his hand on his chest.
"Your Highness, allow me to bring this insolent thing outside to teach him a lesson he'll never forget," He beckoned, asking permission—as he was raring to go at Valkis. "I assure you, he'll come back with manners"
Princess Selene kept her face composed, locking eye contact with Valkis.
She then squinted her eyes, seeing a hidden meaning behind Valkis' eyes.
Despite the rising tension, she lifted her hand once again in a refined manner.
She willed the Alpha Prime to sit down with only her gesture.
"Anything you have to say, say it now," she said at last, her voice steady as she gestured for Valkis to speak. "Whatever news you bring to me, can be heard by them as well." She cast a glance around the room, her confidence—unwavering. The Alpha Primes present—were the strongest of their kind—there was no reason to shield them from the truth.
Upon hearing this, Valkis kept his gaze straight at her.
He waited for a good moment, giving time for Princess Selene to change her mind.
But it seemed she had no intentions of changing her mind.
"Suit yourself," Valkis shrugged his shoulders, a little bit excited to deliver the news. "I'm here to inform you—that the Royal Black Prince has come to meet with you. He's here to meet you as a courtesy before you and all the Alpha Primes were called to the capital city"
Surprised, Princess Selene stood up from her seat abruptly, "What did you say...?"
Likewise, the other Alpha Primes also sucked in a cold breath.
"I said, the Royal Black Prince request—an audience with you," Valkis repeated, delighted by the faces these Werewolves made. "He's waiting for you outside. Please permit his entry, he would be displeased if you made him wait too long..."
