Any trouble would eventually come to a pass.
Princess Selene wanted the meeting with the Silverstar Pack to be done in haste and as with all troubles, it did come to a pass but not with an assuring result—not with the result that the princess and the Alpha Primes liked.
Contemplating moves to overthrow Prince Alaric was today's main topic.
But it changed, the Silverstar Pack's visit made them ponder whether they were correct.
Going against the Clarentium Empire and resisting the change, are those things correct?
It was the big question lingering in their minds even when the opposition had already left.
Despite being extremely reluctant to admit it, Evelyn's message was compelling, she painted them, as a council of fools, if they decided to keep opposing Rex—and his empire. It was not her first rodeo that's for sure.
"What should we do, Your Highness?" Zeul asked, turning towards her for an answer.
Similarly, the other Alpha Primes also did the same, looking at her for an answer.
At this very moment, she did not have an answer—but she didn't tell it to them straight.Princess Selene stared ahead, her gaze vacant as if her soul was no longer in her body.
She stared at the Betas' corpses across the room, their blood was a beautiful carmine color, flowing out, and entering the crevices of the floor, as it slowly made its way to the right side of the room—creating a river of blood.
Everything in the background became a blurred image or sound.
Her eyes were entranced by the blood as a thought came to mind, 'Should I step back...?'
Meanwhile, walking outside of the castle through the snowy ground.
"Woah..." Adhara rubbed her pounding chest as she reverted back to her human form. "that was intense, I felt like I forgot to breathe until now. If a fight broke out, we would take down probably all of them except for the princess but there's a chance of us dying"
"All of them are Alpha Primes, it should be expected," Gistella smiled wryly.
Alpha Primes are the highest below royal so it was no doubt that they were powerhouses.
In response, Evelyn snickered, "Get used to it, the next meeting would be worse"
Considering that the next meeting would be about Prince Alaric ascending to the throne and announcing his decision to merge—with the Clarentium Empire—that moment would be a lot worse.
Not to mention, there would be hundreds of Alpha Primes there.
"I'm not worried though," Adhara shrugged nonchalantly, it somewhat felt refreshing to get something done on her own, without needing Rex's help. "technically, we already defeated the Werewolves at the Bloodstone Crater. We're only finishing them,"
Realizing that Valkis was with them, she waved her hand, "Pardon my words,"
"No need to apologize, I'm not the one to be offended by facts" Valkis replied.
Just then, Evelyn frowned, "Do you know the truth about the Bloodstone Crarter, Valkis?"
"Yes—Prince Alaric decided to share the truth, with those he trusted. I have the privilege—to be one of them" Valkis nodded, the mass knew that the Bloodstone Crater was destroyed by the Angels, not because of the battle between Rex against the royals backed by Gods.
But he knew the truth and he was one of the few who didn't mind about it.
Especially considering Prince Leif was actively trying to kill Rex.
It was only right for Rex to retaliate with the same force.
Soon enough, the group got out of the castle grounds and entered the public street.
Other Werewolves could be seen, looking over them, with growls in their throats, some were standing hunched on the side of the roads while some were watching over them from above— perched atop rocks.
Evelyn, Adhara, Gistella, and Valkis had passed them before.
However, it seemed their numbers increased.
Nevertheless, their fangs were too dull to pose a threat to this group of four.
Despite the Werewolves' menacing gazes, none of them were influenced or intimidated.
It was a walk in the park.
"Still..." Gistella mused lightly and gazed skyward to the moon. "I'm worried about Sven"
Upon hearing this, Adhara, Evelyn, and Valkis nodded the same.
Sven is an unpredictable variable, he was the heir of the Werewolf Origin and was so strong that he could easily take the throne. Prince Leif took control only because he was sane, and had the Yule Moon King Mark.
Had it not for that, Sven would definitely be the King of Werewolves.
A fearsome king to boast.
"It's unlikely he would show up," Evelyn assured. "he's mindless. Nothing here interests him"
"Even if he appeared, we'll make sure the throne landed on Prince Alaric" She added.
All of them nodded in a union once she said that.
It was Rex who sent them here and they couldn't afford to disappoint him.

Outskirts of the Human territory, a forest near level two city—Inkura City. Stay connected via empire
Splash!
Gelmar thrust his sword into a man with a weird-looking black mark on his face.
He killed the man and pulled out his sword, splashing blood to the ground.
Once he did that—he lifted his gaze and swept his gaze across the battlefield—seeing that his men were already finishing up. A lot of men from their side died throughout the attempt to help Humanity during a crisis.
A promise made by the Emperor himself.
And now, it had come to an end.
Gelmar had down the last mission tonight.
A week or so ago, he had stopped receiving missions from the UWO because of the weird visit from the Cessation Knights who wanted to assassinate him. Gelmar needed to report this to the Emperor and see where it went from there.
It was true that Rex had promised Humans to help because of Giana.
But Gelmar thought that he had done enough.
Most of the mutated animals were already handled, and the small cities were now more or less safe from the Second Breath's danger. In the last two days, his missions even shifted, from killing mutated animals to suppressing a rebellion.
He learned a lot from the cities he visited.
Gelmar thought that it was the SCO being alienated again but it wasn't the case.
In the mission briefing reports President Sebrof had provided, he referred to these people simply as 'Pariahs'. Gelmar didn't fully understand what these Pariahs were—but the dead weird man under his foot was a Pariah.
Power-wise, Gelmar found them similar—to the Black Hands—the only difference lies within their appearances alone. Black Hands has 'Gifts' that allow them to use unorthodox kinds of power and these Pariahs' powers were similar but their appearances were different.
Most Pariahs had some of their bodies deformed.
Gelmar had even found those who had three arms or even three eyes.
Despite undoubtedly being Humans, the Pariahs are different.
As his last mission, Gelmar was told to destroy a base of these Pariahs.
Knowing that it would be his last mission, the base was one of the bigger ones.
Gelmar and his men killed two thousand of these Pariahs already and now, the leader of the Pariahs has been slain, by one of his most accomplished men. Finding that the others, were finishing up, he took a sit against a tree.
Pulling a cloth from his pocket—Gelmar cleaned his sword as his mind wandered elsewhere.
Other than announcing his retreat, he also met with President Sebrof to discuss the ambush.
'I'm certain the one who sent the Cessation Knights to assassinate you was Richard Dunkeld, he is a representative of the Elpida Alliance, and holds command over the Cessation Knights. For what purpose exactly, I don't know. But I'm certain it's him'
Recalling those words from President Sebrof, Gelmar leaned his head back.
'Richard was sent to take care of the Angels—at the edge of the continent. He had seen, and felt directly the power of the Angels,' He pondered—a frown forming on his face. 'So he must want the Emperor's help to fight the Angels. I understand that to do that, he needs to obtain, the Emperor's attention but attacking me?'
'It would only give a bad impression to the Emperor,' He sighed, trying to crack the puzzle.
For better or worse, he wasn't someone who was good regarding this matter.
He was more of the blade, not the book—the book was more on Dindora's alley.
"And that person," Gelmar scowled in anger—recalling that after the ambush someone had used the portal to go to Dargena City. "whoever it is that used the portal—must be sent by Richard, but how I tell the Emperor about this?"
Just as he was contemplating in silence while cleaning his blade, he was hit by something.
A small pebble.
Gelmar ignored it as it might come down from the tree, there's nobody around that reached his senses but then, another pebble struck him again—this time, it hit his face. He stood up and scanned the surroundings, searching for where the pebble came from.
Of course, he did it half-assedly.
His trusted senses that helped him in battles always—detected nothing in the area.
Other than his men, there was not even a single bug around.
But then, his eyes caught sight of swaying bushes several dozens of meters from him.
Frowning as there might really be something that could bypass his senses, Gelmar held the handle of his weapon tightly before moving slowly towards the swaying bushes. His senses were activated to the maximum.
Not even A fly's speed would be able to outpace the arcs of his sword.
Approaching the bushes, he swiped his swords and cut the height of the bushes in half.
He found nothing hiding there but he did find something sticky and glistening.
Gelmar used his sword to scoop up the sticky, glistening substance, his eyes scanning the surroundings for additional clues. Lifting the blade—he brought the substance closer for a more careful inspection.
It was blood but the scent this blood emanated was different than that of the Humans.
Oddly enough, it also doesn't match the mutated animals in this area.
"Odd..." Just then Gelmar tilted his head a little. "the scent, it was familiar. It was similar to the Emperor's blood. A Werewolf's blood. Is there a Werewolf—here? No, Intra would have detected it easily if that's the case"
Knowing of Humanity's newest defense system, Gelmar put that thought away.
But he was still dubious as the blood was very similar to a Werewolf's blood.
Swish!
Snapping his head to the side, Gelmar saw a shadow brush past him.
Making haste, he investigated—dashing in the sound direction.
Upon making this chase, he could hear something a few paces away from him running away. Nodding his head, confirming that there was really something or perhaps someone close by, Gelmar sunk into the ground.
He reappeared twenty meters in front of him and saw a figure.
Not wasting a single second, he brandished his weapon in a deadly arc—going for the kill.
Reacting swiftly, the figure propelled itself out of harm's way by summoning an ice column from the ground—its movements reminiscent of an Ice Elementalist, but clearly something else. Gelmar could detect a trace of mana emanating from the icy construct.
On the other hand, the figure leaped over him and landed on the open field ahead.
Gelmar came out from the bushes and was greeted by two figures standing side by side.
Both were covered by a dark cloak and were taken hostage by one of Gelmar's men.
'More assassins sent by Richard?' Gelmar wondered, but seeing no resemblance to the elite Cessation Knights from these two, it must not be the case. As opposed to assassins—these two must be Pariahs or at least one of them was a Pariah.
Pointing the tip of his sword to them, Gelmar demanded with an authoritative tone.
"Release him or I'll ensure your life ends in agony!" He threatened.
Upon hearing this, one of them who was smaller and more slender than the other, lifted both hands up, "Calm down, we meant no harm to this man and you," the figure said, and stepped forward. "We only wished to be heard"
"You ask for trust when you're hiding your face?" Gelmar thundered back firmly.
Just then, the figure reached for the hood and took it down.
It was a woman, she obeyed and revealed her face.
Remembering her face, Gelmar then asked again, "Who are you and what do you want?"
"My name is Laura," the woman introduced. "we wished to speak with Rex..."
