Chapter 2080: Scattered Like Stars Chapter 2080: Scattered Like Stars Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Ivory Macadam shouted and charged at the demon-eared rabbit.
The demon-eared rabbit resembled a white rabbit, but underestimating it could spell disaster.
Its ears could release a kind of rotting ray, capable of causing anyone it touched to decay instantly.
Even those with higher realms of cultivation would find their bodies corroded and damaged.
To counter this, Ivory’s body radiated with a burst of light as she charged at the creature like a human-shaped tyrannosaurus.
The demon-eared rabbit let out a piercing cry, and its body blurred into motion.
Ivory’s expression tightened beneath her helmet as a sense of danger surged through her.
She instinctively raised her greatsword horizontally in defense.
Bang!
A muffled sound echoed as the force of the demon-eared rabbit sent Ivory skidding back several meters.
From his perch in a tree, Braydon Neal observed the scene with interest and muttered to himself, “Demon-eared rabbits are incredibly fast, but they lack patience.
Ivory has solid defense, but her attack power and mobility clearly fall short.” Braydon glanced briefly at the others before turning away.
If Ivory was considered talented, then Falcon Macall and Rae Haase were anything but.
At least, that’s how Braydon saw it.
“Falcon, are you ready?” Ivory shouted as she was knocked back once more, struggling against the demon-eared rabbit.
Falcon nodded, producing a compass.
“Scattered like stars!” In an instant, a burst of dazzling starlight enveloped the area within dozens of meters, including the demon-eared rabbit.
“Rae, are you ready?” “Ready, Captain,” Rae replied, clutching a small pearl before tossing it into the glowing starlight.
A surge of icy power erupted, slowing the thrashing rabbit.
Frost formed over its body until it was completely immobilized.
Meanwhile, Braydon, still perched in the tree, suddenly shifted his focus to the left.
“Something’s been drawn to the fight.” In a flash, he appeared several hundred meters away, where a darkpatterned panther—a top-tier predator of the Dark Forest and an immortal king-level beast—was lurking.
“The darkpatterned panther, a master hunter of the shadows, capable of killing in a single strike,” Braydon muttered, running his hand over its sleek fur.
The panther, which had been creeping toward Ivory’s battlefield, froze in fear.
When it tried to escape into the shadows, Braydon’s hand clamped down on the back of its neck.
Roar!
The panther spun, claws flashing toward Braydon in desperation.
Clang!
Metal clashed, and in an instant, the panther’s claws were severed, spraying blood.
Braydon tilted his head, dodging most of the blood, though a streak stained his pale face.
The panther howled in pain, its ferocious demeanor replaced by fear.
“It’s too late for mercy,” Braydon said coldly, a faint smile on his face.
With a sudden burst of power, he crushed the life out of the panther, its energy dissipating entirely.
Turning away, Braydon muttered softly, “I’ll leave it to you,” and headed back toward Ivory and the others.
Scarlet eyes glimmered in the surrounding darkness, but Braydon remained unfazed.
As he approached, he overheard arguing.
“Captain, why should he get 30% when he hasn’t done anything?” Falcon complained.
“If it weren’t for us, we wouldn’t have taken down the darkpatterned panther!” Braydon’s steps slowed, and his expression flickered with disdain as he listened.
“Captain, I agree with Falcon,” Rae chimed in.
“Thirty percent is too much for someone who didn’t contribute at all.” Braydon smirked.
If that darkpatterned panther had joined the fray, neither Falcon nor Rae would have survived.
Only Ivory’s spirit-iron armor might have withstood its deadly attacks.
Braydon emerged from the forest, the blood streak still vivid on his face.
Falcon and Rae’s arguments died in their throats the moment they saw him.
Fear flickered in their eyes as they took in his calm but bloodied appearance.
“Lige Guay,” Ivory interjected quickly, “don’t mind them.
They’re just venting.” Braydon’s voice was cold and measured.
“In the Dark Forest, anyone who exposes themselves becomes prey.
You were nearly hunted by an immortal king-level shadow leopard.” He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in.
“This cut doesn’t matter to me.
But next time, I won’t intervene.
If you die, then you die.” Turning away, Braydon disappeared into the shadows.
Falcon and Rae turned pale, realizing how close they’d been to death.
They glanced at Ivory, pleading silently for her help.
Ivory sighed, exasperated.
She had warned them to stay quiet.
Now, even if Braydon wasn’t visible, she knew he was nearby, listening.
“Lige, they didn’t mean any harm,” Ivory said diplomatically.
“We didn’t realize you were helping behind the scenes.
Let me treat you to dinner at Sky Gate City when we’re out of here.
I hope you’ll forgive their words.” For a long moment, there was silence.
Then, a cold voice echoed.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
