"Eh? EH?!" Mrs. Macmillan's face turned blank for almost a whole minute before she finally somewhat comprehended the situation. How long had he been calling for her? And did he seriously just call her deaf and dumb?!
Mr. Jefferson sighed. "That reaction doesn't help your case at all. Anyway, never mind that. I'm only here to give you this."
The female teacher stared blankly at the file she had been handed. "Schedule for the Annual Events Week?!"
She gasped. Because of all the excitement at the race, she had completely forgotten about submitting her preferences for which clubs she wanted to be in charge of during the upcoming events. "I shouldn't have put it off for the last day!"
Mr. Jefferson gave her a derisive look. "Why don't you take a look inside and see what you got?"
Mrs. Macmillan felt her hands tremble as she opened the file. 'Please don't be what I think… Please!'
They only had one such 'competition' in a year, and it was taken quite seriously. There were many events that were open to all students, and each club and department was also required to perform at least one activity to show their 'ability'.
It served not only as advertising material for the next year, but also gave them a lot of positive press.
For students who mostly focused on studies almost the whole year, they would of course need some assistance and supervision to make sure everything goes smoothly during their events, and their ideas are sound.
Therefore, in addition to all the usual provisions, each teacher also had to take charge of at least three to four clubs or departments and supervise their activities.
If they performed well, not only would there be additional merits, they would also get a big bonus to their next paycheck!
Needless to say, everyone wanted to pick the best clubs for themselves, and no one wanted to be stuck with the most troublesome ones.
To make it fair, teachers who had higher merits in the previous year got priority picks, and Mrs. Macmillan had always been at the top of the list for the last couple of years.
Having got 'free wins' for so long, missing out on her priority picks was already bad enough. But she also knew that this year had two extremely troublesome 'candidates' that no one wanted, as whoever got them was sure to be in for a lot of trouble.
And as her eyes landed on the names that had been assigned to her, Mrs. Macmillan felt her world turning bleak. "Princess Emilia's Royal Knights and… the Disciplinary Committee?!"
Mr. Jefferson nodded. "These were the only ones left after everyone was done picking. Good luck."
"W-What did you take?"
The man smiled 'kindly'. "Swimming Club and Library Committee. It's not going to be easy, so I'll take my leave."
Mrs. Macmillan collapsed back in her chair as she watched the man walk away indifferently. "Is this my retribution for signing that approval form back then? No, couldn't they have had a little mercy?!"
That little girl Penny already made her life hell on a daily basis, and now that she was going to have an even more solid excuse to bother her, how was she going to survive?!
Although the events week was still a long way off, thinking about her 'responsibilities', Mrs. Macmillan really felt like pulling out all her hair. "Just what kind of activities are these fangirls even going to do?!"

Meanwhile, back in the 'Disciplinary Committee' office, Dixie hesitated on whether she should knock when she heard the squeals from the other side of the door.
Unfortunately, before she could make the decision to be a little tactful and wait, Koko had already banged on it enthusiastically.
Before Dixie could reprimand the girl, however, the door opened shockingly quick, and a red-faced Crystal gave them a grateful nod.
Emilia was lazily lying on her side on the bed, and waved them in with a smile. "Where's Penny?"
"I sent her a message just now, princess—!" Dixie barely managed to catch Koko mid-lunge, making the girl come to an abrupt halt only a few inches from her target.
"Y-You bully! Emilia, help, ahhh! I missed youuu, you don't even come to our class anymore…"
Seeing the sulky look on the usually cheerful girl's face, Emilia could only smile ruefully. "Well, I've been a bit busy recently, but you can always come to meet me here, or at my home, you know?"
Dixie let the shorter girl go, and Koko's eyes immediately shone in delight as she dashed into the redhead's arms. "I-I can come to your home?!"
Emilia smiled as she patted the girl's head. "Of course. Haven't I been to your home too? Come anytime."
Koko rubbed her face into Emilia's neck with delight. "I-I'll definitely come every day!"
Emilia just chuckled as she let the girl hug her before giving the embarrassed Crystal a look. "You sure were quick to escape your punishment the first chance you got, huh?"
While Crystal coughed in embarrassment, Dixie finally realized that Emilia must have been tickling the blonde girl. Recalling the last time she did that… Crystal's underwear was probably soaked.
No wonder her squeals sounded so lewd.
Dixie coughed. "By the way, have you heard about the Annual Events Week?"
Emilia tilted her head in confusion. "Yes? Wasn't that for the clubs to show off or something? I'm not really in any clubs. Did you join any, Dixie? Ah, speaking of which, I should discuss this with Penny too, while at it."
The dark-haired girl blinked. "Oh, I thought that's why you called Penny over?"
Emilia shook her head with a smile. "No, she actually did something really cool recently, so I was thinking of rewarding her. I'll tell you about it later, hm?"
Dixie blinked. "Oh… okay. Um, but actually, I heard that your 'Disciplinary Committee' was also considered a participant in the event, so..."
Emilia could only give her a blank look. "W-What? What am I supposed to do there? Whip people?!"
