Villain Ch 966. The Same Old Game

With a deep exhale, Darren finally broke the silence, his voice laced with frustration. “Do you see it? That’s how she traps men,” he muttered, his gaze fixed on Sophia as she played her part perfectly. He huffed in annoyance, the memory of how she had ensnared him and Liam in a similar fashion still fresh in his mind.

The soft vulnerability, the tear-filled eyes, the way she leaned on INeedAHotGF as if he were the only one in the world who could save her—it was a performance he recognized all too well.

Liam glanced at Darren, his expression equally sour. He took a slow sip from his potion, his thoughts heavy with the realization of how deeply they had been entangled in Sophia’s web. “Yeah,” Liam replied, his tone flat. “Same old act. She knows exactly how to play it, doesn’t she? Just a few tears, a little bit of that damsel-in-distress routine, and she’s got him right where she wants him.”

Darren nodded, his jaw clenched as he watched the scene unfold. “It’s like she has this… this talent for it. She knows exactly what to say, how to look just vulnerable enough to make a guy feel like he’s got to protect her. And once she’s got you, you’re stuck. It’s like being caught in a spider’s web.”

Liam sighed, his eyes narrowing as he watched Sophia lean into INeedAHotGF, her head resting on his shoulder. “I remember the first time she did that to me,” he said, his voice tinged with bitterness. “She was all sweet, telling me how she didn’t know who else to turn to, how she trusted me more than anyone. And like an idiot, I fell for it. Thought I was the one she could rely on.”

Darren scoffed, taking another gulp of his potion. “Same here. She played me like a fiddle. Made me feel like I was the only one who could help her, like I was special. And then, before I knew it, I was doing whatever she wanted, just to keep her happy. It’s pathetic, really.”

Liam nodded in agreement, his grip tightening around his potion bottle. “Yeah, pathetic. But that’s what she does. She makes you feel important, needed. And by the time you realize it’s all a game to her, you’re in too deep to get out without losing something.”

They both fell silent for a moment, their gazes still locked on Sophia and INeedAHotGF. The memory of how they had been manipulated by her lingered like a bitter aftertaste. The night they spent together, the three of them.

The realization that they had been used, that their loyalty and affection had been nothing more than tools for her to achieve her own ends, left a deep resentment that was hard to shake.

Darren finally tore his eyes away from the scene, shaking his head. “It’s a damn shame,” he muttered. “Because it’s not like we’re bad guys. We would have helped her, supported her, if she had just been honest with us. But instead, she chose to manipulate us, to twist everything to her advantage.” But yes, in his heart, he also knew he was wrong.

He also had an ill intention toward her from the beginning. He wanted her for himself and to sleep with her. But after they did it, it turned out Sophia had recorded them and threatened them with that video to make them do what she wanted.

Liam sighed, leaning back against the wall and staring up at the sky. “I guess that’s just who she is,” he said quietly. “She’s always got to be in control, always has to be the one pulling the strings. It doesn’t matter who gets hurt in the process, as long as she gets what she wants.”

Darren grunted in agreement, a weary resignation settling over him. “Yeah, well, I’m done with it. She can play her games with whoever she wants, but I’m not going to let her trap me again. I’m done being her pawn.”

Liam turned to Darren, a flicker of determination in his eyes. “Same here. We’ve learned our lesson. We just have to be smarter from now on, not let ourselves get caught up in her drama.”

Darren smiled bitterly, a hint of resignation in his voice. “But it doesn’t mean we can get away from her. She still has that video. We’re going to jail if she reports that to the police,” he reminded Liam, the weight of the situation pressing down on him. The video was a constant threat hanging over their heads, one that Sophia had expertly used to keep them under her thumb.

“True,” Liam said with a huff, the reality of their situation settling heavily between them. He took another drink from his potion, the liquid doing little to ease the tension that knotted in his stomach. As he lowered the bottle, a thought crossed his mind, one that sparked a small glimmer of hope amid the bleakness. “But… I have a plan.”

Darren looked at him, his expression flat and unenthusiastic. “Do tell me,” he said, though his tone lacked any real expectation. They had been caught in Sophia’s web for more than a month, and the idea of escaping it seemed almost impossible.

Liam turned fully to face Darren, the flicker of determination in his eyes growing stronger. “What if we pretend to be nice to her? Act like we’re still on her side, like we’re still wrapped around her little finger. But while we’re doing that, we secretly record what she says to us.

We have to get her to admit that she used the video to blackmail us and that everything we did was with her consent,” he suggested, his voice low and conspiratorial.

Darren’s reaction was immediate, his gaze narrowing into a skeptical flat stare. “That’s a great idea,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “But you know it won’t be easy to pull off. Sophia’s smart, and she knows how to manipulate us. She’ll be on guard, especially if she suspects anything.”

Liam nodded, acknowledging the truth in Darren’s words. “I know it won’t be easy. But what other choice do we have? We can’t just keep living under her control, always afraid she’ll use that video against us. We have to take a risk if we want to get out of this mess.”
