Chapter 1891 Clash of the Titans [20]
ƒгeewёbnovel.comThe tiny speck of Damien's existence rapidly expanded. In a single instant, his soul was returned to being. It was pure black in color but extremely tangible. It was hard to imagine that this was not a physical body.
That was until the physical body appeared around it. Damien's soul was reformed into a True Void Soul. It reached its complete state. The body that appeared around it was not immediately perfect, but its changes were very noticeable.
The [Child of Infinity] title activated and gave Damien the road to the Void. It did indeed act as a key to the massive door that blocked everyone else from the peak. The door was open. That was a fact. Damien could now see the proverbial staircase that led him to the position of Absolute.
However, those stairs still needed to be climbed. Damien's two concepts did not immediately merge and form some sort of beautiful situation where he could easily destroy the Dark God. Instead, those puzzle pieces started to fill themselves in very slowly.
He had no room to consciously interfere anymore. Just like the Worldwalker, he would reach the Void purely by existing. Unfortunately, there was someone present who wanted anything but that to happen. The form of the incarnation of envy was always terrifying, but it was even more so now. The souls writhing on its surface expanded and exploded. The condensed power of their misery was then used to enhance the natural vessel of the incarnation, which happened to be the Dark God's body. He used his hatred to fuel its power. He used all of the hatred and envy in the world to his advantage, becoming a true apostle of sin. This change further twisted the Existence and Nonexistence in his body into an entirely different group of forces. Though he did not realize it, to Damien, this was a subconscious sign that he had already given up on becoming Absolute.
In his heart of hearts, the Dark God was destroyed from the moment he learned the truth about the Worldwalker. Everything after that was merely desperation. He didn't truly think it was possible to turn Damien into the Worldwalker, nor did he believe that he would be satisfied with whatever outcome he brought about through his actions.
He was only acting because he wanted to preserve the meaning of his life by any means possible.
Still, that struggle was just as valuable as his race for the peak. It meant just as much to him, so it was able to produce an equally dangerous situation. The incarnation of envy became larger and more adept. The "Envy" it controlled reached a new level.
The Dark God didn't hold anything back. The only change was that he was no longer fighting an image of the Worldwalker. He was looking at Damien, acknowledging that Damien was the one putting him in danger.
When all of the feelings he held for the Worldwalker were transferred onto a new person, that new person was bound to suffer immensely. The incarnation attacked Damien with even more ferocity, and though he wanted to play defensive until his concepts finished merging, he quickly realized that it was impossible.
In these last few minutes, he had to have an all-out clash with the Dark God. Otherwise, there was a real possibility that his ascension would be interrupted.
BOOOOOOOM!
It was really something fantastical.
Damien flew through the air chased by millions upon millions of arms. His path was not linear in the slightest. He formed a strange abstract painting of curving light through the air with his movements. It seemed to be a trail of aura, but it was actually energy infused with attacks.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions erupted throughout the mass of arms and hands, destroying many of them in the process. Damien's eyes stayed focused on the scene in front of him, but that was only one method of perception. His actual sight was directed in all directions as if he was controlling himself through a screen. He could see the countless dimensions and planes being created around him. They were filled with the Dark God's corrupted energy. He could not risk touching even a single one, for if that energy was allowed to once again pollute his mind and body, then the intensive processes his body was undergoing would be ruined.
That was the reason for his insane movement.
He precisely twisted and turned through the air, changing his altitude freely. Every few degrees that he moved allowed him to dodge another dimension, carving his own line through the plane and establishing himself as an existence.
It truly was an image of lights and colors alone. White, black, red, green, blue, purple, and anything else on any other color spectrum became a medium through which Damien and the Dark God released their power.
The most menial things in the universe that were taken for granted all the time became the most important concepts to ever exist, for the fate of two cosmos relied on them.
As the stars collided, creating a series of great white flashes that shook the Sacred Abyss, Damien's concepts started to become one.
Existence and Nonexistence finally accepted that they were united in their differences. There was no need for them to remain separate, for they'd always be independent and valuable on their own. They would not be overshadowed by the Void. They were merely a part of its power, the most important part, at that. It was unknown how many times the Sacred Abyss had been destroyed already.
It was clear when the battlefield became so confusing that the cosmos could no longer handle them. In reality, the cosmos had been erased several hundreds of times already.
Only, it was reconstructed naturally in the very same instant, so it was as if it never happened in the first place.
It was too absurd of a battle, really. In a certain sense, it was a battle that could be considered nonexistent. All of these events could be said to have never happened. They'd only be immortalized as fiction through the eyes of those who witnessed their aftermath. Still, the battle was no more than a backdrop to Damien. It had already become secondary, because the situation ended up like that. He needed to reach his final goal if he wanted to win, so why would he focus on the Dark God?
Still, the battle was no more than a backdrop to Damien. It had already become secondary, because the situation ended up like that. He needed to reach his final goal if he wanted to win, so why would he focus on the Dark God?
From beginning to end, the Void was most important.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
His progress was easy to see. His movements became more precise at first, but they eventually slowed down. Damien's body became stronger, so his need to dodge decreased. At some point, he stood still. He stopped moving entirely and allowed the stars to strike his body. Their explosions decorated the sky and fractured the Sacred Abyss, but the scene caused by those attacks was irrelevant.
Damien closed his eyes. He felt his body reach that impervious state.
There was no longer a need for him to keep his focus on the battle. He finally reached that place. No matter what the Dark God did, he would no longer be able to injure him.
There was only a single step left for him to reach the Void.
