Chapter 1130: After Story 6: The Sea Does Not Forget, Nor Does it Forgive

“Say Mama.”

“Dadada.”

“No, sweetheart. Say Mama.”

“Dadada?”

Ethan couldn’t help but chuckle as he watched Lilian patiently teach their daughter to talk.

She had been repeatedly coaxing her one-year-old daughter to say “Mama,” but every attempt was met with an enthusiastic “Dadada” instead.

“Ouch! Why are you pinching me?” Ethan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when Lilian vented her frustration on him.

“It’s because you look annoying!” Lilian pouted.

Ethan shook his head helplessly, then dropped onto the carpet, stretching out beside his cute daughter, Thalia.

“Say Dada,” Ethan said softly.

“Mamama.”

“…”

“… Pfft!”

Lilian giggled, amused by the speechless reaction on her husband’s face after he heard their daughter’s reply.

“No, Thalia, say Dada.”

“Mamama?”

Ethan and Lilian shared a look before shifting their attention back to the little girl, who beamed up at them with a wide, innocent smile.

“Is Thalia pranking us?” Ethan asked Lilian, who lovingly picked up her daughter from the carpet.

“Maybe,” Lilian replied. “She’s my sweet little munchkin.”

The beautiful lady then gave her baby’s chubby cheeks two kisses, making the girl giggle and reach out to touch her face.

“She’s quite smart for her age,” Ethan commented. “Her talent for magic is also very high.”

The city of Atlantis had an appraisal stone that could detect the volume and quality of magic someone possessed.

Among Ethan’s children, Thalia’s magic power was the highest.

On the night Thalia was conceived, Lilian suggested something to Ethan, which he readily agreed to.

They jointly activated their Legacy Resonance and made love without shutting it off. At that time, it just seemed like an interesting idea, and neither had thought much of it.

All they wanted was to spice up their love life. But like an extra blessing, that night led to Lilian’s pregnancy.

While she was giving birth to Thalia, a storm descended upon Atlantis, which had docked in the Lands of Alastor.

Heavy rains, thunder, and lightning struck the surrounding area. Oddly, Ethan inexplicably understood that the storm wasn’t natural.

As soon as Thalia uttered her first cry, the storm clouds suddenly materialized above Atlantis, and rain fell for an entire day.

Ethan wielded the power to summon storms, so he was certain that it wasn’t Lilian who had caused it.

But if not her, then who?

A year later, they noticed that whenever Thalia cried loudly, a storm cloud would form around the area where she was.

It didn’t take long for Ethan and Lilian to realize that their daughter could already summon a thunderstorm despite her very young age.

They also believed that their daughter’s prodigious talent and constitution were the results of conceiving her with their Legacy Resonance activated.

“By the way, I received a letter from my brother last night,” Lilian said. “Lyall is now pregnant.”

“Really?” Ethan’s voice carried a tinge of surprise as he reacted to this piece of news.

After the Progenitor Wars ended, the King of Eastshire, Austen Whitehall, made a public declaration, finally introducing Cedric and Lilian as his children.

No one knew why he decided to do that.

But since he had made the public aware that he had two additional children aside from the Crown Prince and the First Princess, it caused a stir in the lower echelons of the nobility.

Even Cedric’s and Lilian’s classmates from Brynhildr Academy were surprised to hear the news. As soon as the announcement came out, the noble families wasted no time to try their luck by sending the two marriage offers.

Unfortunately for them, both were already happily taken.

Two years later, Cedric and Lyall married each other, and the two decided to live in Grandshire.

This allowed their families to visit them regularly since there were multiple teleportation gates headed directly to Grandshire.

“What gift should we give them?” Lilian asked.

She was very happy that her brother’s marriage with Lyall was a harmonious one. Now that they were about to have a baby, she wanted to give them the best gift ever.

“A chest of gold and jewels,” Ethan replied. “Of course, we can add more gifts if you want. Just tell me what it is, and I’ll get it for you.”

Lilian pondered a bit before looking at the bracelet hanging on her right wrist.

A single pearl was attached to the bracelet, but this wasn’t any ordinary pearl.

It was a pearl created by Ethan using his progenitor powers.

They called it the Pearl of the Tidebringer.

It promoted proper blood circulation, increased the body’s regeneration ability, and granted resistance to diseases and status ailments like paralysis and petrification.

It also allowed Ethan to instantly teleport to its location during emergencies.

All of his wives wore this bracelet and treated it as Ethan’s token of love and protection.

“Will it be too much to ask you to give a pearl to Lyall as a gift?” Lilian asked.

“Giving her one is fine,” Ethan replied. “I’m sure Lily would’ve asked for it as well if she knew her sister was now pregnant.”

Ethan considered Lyall part of his family. If his wives wished for her to have the same charm of protection Ethan had given them, he would not hesitate to give her one.

Right on cue, Dantalion flew past the window of Ethan’s room and landed on top of the table.

“Dadada!” Thalia reached out toward the white raven, making Ethan smile.

Dantalion often played with his kids whenever he wasn’t delivering any letters to Ethan’s acquaintances.

The young man then walked towards his Spirit Guide to check the letter stored in the magical cylinder tied up on his legs.

“How is George?” Ethan asked.

He had asked Dantalion to visit George, wanting to know how his senior was doing.

“His two wives, Sabrina and Roze, are both pregnant,” Dantalion reported. “He wrote in the letter that he wishes for you to become their Godfather when they are born.”

A faint smile appeared on Ethan’s lips as he read the handwritten letter by his former Head Prefect.

After reading everything, Ethan thanked Dantalion for his hard work.

The White Raven played with Thalia for a bit before flying to the Aviary to eat and rest from his long journey.

“It seems everyone is living happily,” Lilian commented as she handed her daughter to Ethan, so she could also read George’s letter.

George had been a responsible Head Prefect of Dud Manor during his term, so he was well loved by its residents.

“Amazing. He is now one of the Professors in the academy. The Martial Arts professor for the First Years, huh?” Lilian said. “Aww. He also said he’ll make sure to clean and keep the Dud Manor safe even if there are no longer students staying inside the Dorm.”

The young lady’s eyes moistened a bit, because she could feel George’s love for Dud Manor, which he treated as his second home.

“Knowing he’s there to stand guard makes me feel at ease,” Ethan replied. “Dud Manor holds many wonderful memories. I don’t want it to be demolished because it no longer serves a purpose.”

“Then, how about you give an ultimatum to the academy?” Lilian asked in a teasing tone. “Tell them that if they demolish Dud Manor, you will demolish the entirety of Brynhildr Academy.”

“… Why didn’t I think of that?” Ethan blinked.

“… I’m just joking, you know?” Lilian suddenly felt anxious. It seemed that she had underestimated her husband’s love for Dud Manor.

In fact, Ethan’s love for the place, which allowed him to consider it as his second home, didn’t lose to George’s or Henry’s.

After all, it was the place that had become his safe haven when he was still trying to understand and grasp the true essence of magic.

“Don’t worry,” Ethan said. “I’ll do things in moderation.”

The young man gently passed the little girl in his arms to his wife before summoning the crystal ball, intending to directly talk to Professor Rinehart, who was still the Headmaster of the Academy.

“Good day, Professor,” Ethan said as soon as the image of the kind old wizard appeared on the Crystal Ball. “There’s something I’d like to discuss with you about Dud Manor.”

A day later, George found a white marble slab planted beside the gates of Dud Manor. He hadn’t seen this thing yesterday, so he thought someone had decided to play a prank on his home.

But just as he was about to take it away, he noticed that there were words carved into it.

Since that was the case, he decided to give it a read.

“You see an abandoned manor, we see a sanctuary.

You see ancient walls, we see a legacy.

Do not mistake this home for mere wood and stone.

They hold the unyielding spirits of those who were forsaken by magic.

A home touched by the ocean is a home never truly abandoned.

The sea does not forget, nor does it forgive.

To those who dare harm Dud Manor, remember this.

The Prince of Atlantis and his kin will ensure your screams are drowned beneath the rising tide, never to be seen again.”

George suddenly found his vision blurring as the tears started to stream down his face.

The former Head Prefect thought he was the only one who truly cared about Dud Manor, but after seeing this monument, he understood.

He was never alone.

The lives Dud Manor had nurtured, protected, and sheltered, and the ones who had laughed and slept inside its halls would always be there to protect it, wherever they might be.
