Chapter 1897: Follow The Smoke

Chapter 1897: Follow The Smoke

Grey spent most of his time with his mother and Cory, only leaving the house once to visit the little girl and her brother he saved some years back that settled in the City where the Dawson Manor was located. The triplets from the Horned Race were still with them, and they’ve grown stronger than the last time he met them. He spent some time with them, giving them some items that were basically useless to him at the moment, but for these people who did not have any hopes of ever reaching the Sovereign Plane, it was like he just handed them an opportunity to grow stronger.

After leaving the group, he took a stroll in the City with Cory. To his surprise, Cory is already well known in the City after staying with the Dawson Family for some years now, and the fact that she is someone regarded as one of the greatest geniuses of the younger generation, almost everyone wanted to have some connections to her. Of course, being the adopted daughter of Lucas and Martha Dawson, and also the sister to the well-known but elusive Grey Dawson helped out with things.

During his stroll in the City, Grey was shocked at how famous he was. What he found amusing was that these people did not even know what he looked like, and the painting he saw depicted him almost like a lady. He could not help but be a little embarrassed when he saw the painting, he knew during his younger years he could almost be described as beautiful rather than handsome, but over the years, his features have become more defined.

The day went by in a flash and before he knew it, it was morning.

Grey’s mother would be traveling with Cory and Eisendrache to the Azure Continent, while he would meet up with his friends before deciding if they would go to the Azure Continent or not.

Grey was the last to leave, heading to the cave his father brought him to the first time he reunited with him. On getting to the cave, he became a bit nostalgic thinking about how he finally reunited with his father. It has already been a few years now, but it still felt like it was a day ago the moment he walked into the cave.

While in the cave, he brought out his communication device and tried to reach out to Klaus. It took about one hour or so before he got a reply, and to his surprise, Klaus and the others were with Kyle, planning to help him clear out a camp of Gnomes that was discovered around there. After getting their location, he set out.

….

Somewhere in the Aurora Continent.

In a well-furnished building, Klaus, Reynolds, Alice, and Kyle were all seated.

“Grey’s coming.” Klaus said as he kept the wooden plaque in his hand.

“Really?”

Everyone was shocked at the news. It has not been too long they arrived at Kyle’s house, so hearing Grey was coming, they were a little surprised.

“Yeah.” Klaus nodded.

“Should we wait until he comes?” Kyle asked curiously. He was under a lot of pressure due to being the one assigned to wiping out the Gnome’s camp, and he wanted to make sure it was handled properly.

Over the years he had grown significantly, already a Sovereign even, but he was only a Second stage Sovereign. His speed of growth was hailed as one of the best in his Family, and he felt he would not be too far from Grey and his friends. However, seeing them some days back, he was left speechless. Every single one of them were a few stages higher than the Second stage of the Sovereign Plane. Knowing how freakish their strength were, he was a hundred percent certain they could fight above their cultivation stages. Then there’s Grey, the freak among freaks. Each of Grey’s friends could be called a once in a million talent, Grey on the other hand, could be referred to as the son of the Gods.

“There’s no need. If your information is correct, then there’s only one Third stage Sovereign among them, correct?” Klaus asked.

Nodding, Kyle replied, “Yes.”

“Then there’s no point in waiting for him. If we didn’t come, you would’ve dealt with it either way.” Klaus said.

“Alright. Then we should set off.” Kyle did not object to not waiting for Grey, in truth, he would’ve preferred it if they handled it as soon as possible.

They left immediately after, heading for the Gnome’s camp.

….

A few days later.

Grey landed on a mountain peak, looking at the vast greenery before him. He could see smoke some distance away.

“He really meant it when he said follow the smoke.” He chuckled to himself when he thought how Klaus would have felt when he told him that.

When he got close to the region where Kyle’s Family was located, he contacted Klaus again and found out they were not in the City. After getting directions to this mountain peak, Klaus’s last message was follow the smoke. Seeing the smoke rising to the sky, he knew that was the smoke Klaus was most likely talking about.

He flew in the direction of the smoke and quickly found a settlement that was mostly on fire. But there was no one present.

“Huh?” He was taken aback when he did not see anyone, as he was about to take a step forward, his figure suddenly flickered, disappearing from where he was standing.

He reappeared about hundred meters from his previous location, staring at the ice shard that came from the ground. Looking around, he did not find anyone but he heard a familiar voice grumbling.

“How did he sense it?”

“Come on Klaus, what’s with the games?” Grey asked playfully.

A cold snort rang out as Klaus showed himself. Alice, Reynolds, and Kyle showed themselves too.

“You’re lucky I noticed it was you on time, else you would have been dead by now.” Klaus commented as he walked over, inspecting Grey curiously.
