Chapter 300: Cultivating in the Magma Pools

Chapter 300: Cultivating in the Magma Pools

The two floated down to a flat piece of Earth which overlooked the expanse of magma in the surroundings. Even without going into the magma, one could feel the dreadful residual heat.

Jayce peaked at Elder Qing who seemed to be perfectly fine and he sighed internally. It seemed that once reached a certain cultivation things like hot and cold had much less of an affect.

“This here is the Magma Pools, usually reserved only for those who have contributed greatly to the sect. However, unless you’re at the late stage Foundation Establishment realm, you will burn to a crisp should you come here.”

Elder Qing was watching Jayce’s expression, however he still seemed rather unfazed.

“While not all of us are body cultivators, the Magma Pools can also be used to cultivate the Qi in your Dantian, however it’s less effective. Since you cultivate both, this experience will be a boon for you.”

Jayce nodded, he needed to increase his strength as much as possible over the next 12 months. In the end, he was not the one who saved Earth, despite getting rid of two Core Formation cultivators.

He wasn’t sure what had happened after he had fainted, but the last thing he saw was another alien trying to kill his friends. Thankfully, the Heavenly Tribulation had awoken from its slumber and destroyed the invaders, yet in the process, he had been removed from the world and transported here.

Jayce had a bad feeling that the actual invasion would be much worse than this one. When the Earth’s barrier dispersed for real, there would be no limit on how many cultivators could be sent over.

Nor would their be a strength cap.

The only thing that Jayce could do was to grow stronger, enough that he could save his friends and the entire planet.

Therefore instead of being afraid or nervous, he was full of determination.

“When can I start?” Jayce asked, not wanting to waste a moment of time.

Elder Qing held back a chuckle, but gestured for him to begin whenever.

Jayce walked towards the edge of the Earth, feeling the hot steam billowing upwards into his face. As he was about to step in, Elder Qing cleared his throat.

“Ahem, you may wish to take off your clothes, unless you plan on returning back to your residence naked.”

“Ah.” He had been too caught up in the moment, not realizing that while his body may be tough enough to survive the intense heat, the fabric of his robe was surely not.

With a wave of his hand, the robe disappeared into his token, revealing his glistening muscles. Jayce decided to keep his underwear on, as it was not prudent to unleash his dragon in such company.

Without waiting any longer, Jayce stepped into the Magma and slowly began to sink down. Due to the density of the Magma, it actually took him almost a full minute to descend up to his neck.

Thanks to his tough body, Jayce only felt as if he was being sunburnt, rather than being cooked alive.

“I would send some Qi to your hair, unless you want to look like a monk in the future.” Elder Qing commented, a sly smile appearing on his face.

Jayce’s eyes widened, before he quickly did as he was told. Unfortunately he was already up to his neck in the Magma and was far too late to save the hair on his nether region. By all accounts he now probably had a bald eagle, rather than a fierce dragon.

Seeing the panic on his face, Elder Qing felt a wave of amusement before Jayce’s head disappeared under the Magma. He had never the chance to tease someone like this, since all those who had grown up in the sect were knowledgeable about these things.

Of course he wasn’t worried that his harmless teasing would result in Jayce hating him, after all he was one of his teachers now that he’d become a Core Disciple.

Jayce had been forced to focus all of his attention on his body which had become heating up at a rapid rate. Even only moving down a few inches every second, the temperature was rising fast.

Since the Magma was so viscous, Jayce could easily stop himself in place which gave him some piece of mind. After dropping around 2 meters, he decided to begin cultivating.

He began to absorb the Spiritual Qi in the Magma, sending it through his pores and into his meridians. The moment the Qi made contact with his own, Jayce could feel a burning sensation, causing him to tense up a little.

It reminded him of the pain he would endure when bringing his black flames into his meridians, causing his Qi to boil. Thankfully, due to the amount of Qi, he was able to control how much he absorbed.

’Why is he only stopping there.’ Elder Qing thought, after using his divine sense to check on Jayce.

He would have expected Jayce to be at least 5 meters deep before he began to struggle, especially since the Sect Master had spoken so highly of him. Yet he could only feel a little disappointed seeing where he had stopped.

Elder Qing let out a small sigh before sitting down on the ground cross legged. He had lost a fair bit of interest, seeing that the young man was either a braggart, or just not a hard worker.

However, despite being uninterested, he would still keep an eye on Jayce in case he required assistance. After all, if the new Core Disciple were to die under his care, there was no way Elder Qing could escape punishment.

Jayce on the other hand had no idea what Elder Qing’s thoughts were. He had decided to take things slow, since he was in no rush at the moment.

With every passing minute he could feel his Dantian filling up steadily, filling him with happiness. He believed that only an hour of this and he could probably break into the middle stage of the Core Formation realm.
