Chapter 3581: What You Know
"What do you mean?" Those three asked at the same time.
Roan began to explain what he saw. "From the looks of it, everyone born in F956 has kind of a connection with the Camazotz Bats, a connection that goes deep into one’s blood, energy, and soul. I didn’t have enough time to check things deeply. All I know is that the Divinity Realm Camazotz Bats can use this connection and rob everyone around them of their lives."
Roan turned to the hole. "You saw it. He made everyone explode, and he took all their energy and blood. He simply used that connection, something pretty much no one knows."
Rifindio, Elsie, and Royer had never heard about it. "So that’s why we felt like we were about to explode earlier..."
Rifindio took the chance to ask with Divine Sense. ’But I’m also a Camazotz Bat... kinda. Still, I also felt like I was going to die to that guy earlier.’
Roan understood why. ’That’s to be expected. I told you, this is something that everyone in F956 Universe is born with, and that includes the Camazotz Bats themselves. It’s just that only those who reach the Divinity Realm are allowed to know about it. No, to be more specific, just reaching the Divinity Realm isn’t enough. You probably need some extra authority and things like that.’
Rifindio couldn’t help but sweat cold. ’All the Camazotz Bats in the Divinity Realm who came here have high status. That means they all can do it...’
’Possibly,’ Roan didn’t deny. Then, began to speak normally again. "Another thing I saw was the secret behind this information. This is something you must not let anyone know. The Camazotz Bats who use this skill must make absolutely sure everyone involved is dead or silenced somehow. Well, that wasn’t a big issue since they cause everyone to die when they activate this connection anyway."
"That can’t be... Aren’t we basically dommed, then? We would never be able to fight against the Camazotz Bats of our Universe." Elsie felt like she was trapped.
Royer narrowed his eyes. He didn’t even know how it happened. His own energy simply tried to leave his body, bursting out on its own. It was like it had its own consciousness. "Were you able to see how to get rid of it?"
"No," Roan shook his head. "The moment I touched those memories, the seal in that guy’s soul activated, and it made his core explode. That seal is definitely something you will only acquire after reaching the Divinity Realm." Roan was certain of that since they had Rifindio. If all Camazotz Bat had such power, Rifindio would have it, too. Not to mention the others they captured in the past.
Truth be told, Roan’s wasn’t supposed to have seen that far. It was thanks to both his and Rean’s help that they managed to glimpse some information before the guy’s head exploded. Anyone else would have just triggered the explosion and wouldn’t have seen anything.
Royer then looked to the other side of the trench, conflicted. Now that he was rescued, he wanted to give it another try and see what he could find in the palace. It was especially so since he knew that various Universes appeared here at the same time. Something special might be about to happen. However, if it did happen, and the Camazotz bats had to fight for it, they wouldn’t hold back and make everyone from their Universe explode so they could gain their energy and blood.
Elsie pulled Royer. "Master, let’s leave."
Elsie’s sole objective to come to this place was to rescue Royer, nothing else. She knew he was alive thanks to his Soul Flame, which was left with her. Now, she wouldn’t mind going back or simply waiting for the Palace to disappear.
"That reminds me," Rean spoke. "Just how exactly do you leave the Golden Palace? Do you travel back to the entrance?"
Royer shook his head. "As long as you aren’t trapped like I was, a portal will open and drag you inside even if you don’t want to. It is possible to resist and stay in the Palace, but over the years, everyone saw how every single expert who stayed behind died. In the end, no one tried that anymore. It’s considered suicide. Everyone now definitely goes out when the time comes."
Roan glanced at Celis. "Do your magic."
Celis nodded and changed again. His vines grew through the walls of the corridor, creating a passage to the other side after a few minutes. "Sure enough, gravity increases above the hole as well. They truly don’t want anyone flying over the traps they prepared..."
Roan ignored that, turning to Elsie and Royer. "We need to keep going. In any case, you won’t go back from here as it is too risky. At most, you can stay here, but I don’t think it is a good idea, considering Royer wasn’t sent out last time."
"Yes, let’s leave this place first," Royer agreed.
Using Celis’s vines, the twins’ group crossed the trench and came out on the other side. Then, using the same vines, they pulled Celis to their side and continued forward.
These tunnels were all similar in these aspects. They had many traps, but most of them were long inactive or had been set off in previous excursions. The other paths that other experts were using were no different. Still, quite a few died due to lack of attention or just because they weren’t strong to start with. Not that the twins’ group cared, of course.
Roan didn’t waste that opportunity, asking Royer more about what happened before on the way. "Isn’t the palace supposed to be different every single time? All these old traps that had been set off or just worn out say otherwise.
"Oh, that..." Royer had almost forgotten, his mind on the fact he was set to be used as fuel for Camazotz Bats. "The palace does change, make no mistake. From what you told me, you first passed by an open field and then had to cross a lake to enter the tunnels under a waterfall, right? Back when I entered, we did no such thing. The entrance to this place was located at the top of a mountain and then went down underground."
Royer looked around. "However, some of the structures you find inside are used from time to time, just like this place. I’ll be honest, though. I was quite surprised to see you all here. As far as I know, the same place isn’t used twice in a row. But then again, it is not like I know everything there is about this place."
Roan nodded. "Okay. Now, just tell me what you do know. For example, Elsie’s Medallion."
