Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2718 - 2718: Whisker's Observation

It had been 2 weeks since Whisker’s return.

Before Alex could do anything, he decided to focus on fully absorbing the elixir inside of his body that he had stopped absorbing in order to talk with Whisker.

Having realized the situation, he attempted to finish it as soon as he could.

Whisker, in the meantime, got acquainted with Hell. Alex explained what had happened after the tournament had ended, and how he had been sent here upon having his Soul Space and Spiritual Sea completely sealed off.

Whisker was only now beginning to understand the situation Alex was in.

At least, it was better than what they had expected before. Based on how Pearl had made it sound, they were certain that if Alex wasn’t dead, he was imprisoned somewhere in a god’s territory.

As bad as Hell was, Whisker understood that Alex at least had the freedom to do his things and maybe escape this place in the future.

Whisker was fascinated by this new world and the Intent it carried. His whiskers couldn’t figure out the Intent, but they could sense things far better than his current Spiritual sense could.

With just a 3-meter area around him, he was surprised just how weak he felt. Even now that he was outside of Alex’s sealed-off Soul Space, the bond between him and Alex still felt so far away.

If they were outside of the 3-meter range, they couldn’t even chat with each other. As they moved further away, the quality degraded even more quickly. In just 50 meters or so, Whisker could no longer tell what direction Alex was in.

Whisker roamed the desert a couple of days while Alex cultivated, trying to get a better understanding of this world. He was more or less safe thanks to his improved cultivation and his quick methods of escaping.

After eating the pills Alex had created for him, he was now at Immortal Ascendant 5th realm, which gave him plenty of ways to evade any beasts he met in the desert.

But perhaps due to his size and lack of the thing called the Sunheart, no beast came for him at all. Even the humans ignored him.

After roaming the land for a while, Whisker returned and waited for Alex to be done with his cultivation.

Alex opened his eyes, all elixir in him now having been fully consumed by his body. This would have to be his last cultivation for a while, which was a shame since he felt that he was quite close to breaking through to the next realm.

“By the way, do you have any pills with you that I can use?” Alex asked.

Whisker nodded. “I gathered a few important herbs and pills just in case you might need them,” Whisker said. “They’re in my Soul Space.”

Alex raised his eyebrows. “Show me what you have. I might have some use for them.”

Whisker brought out what he had, which included not just pills and ingredients, but other various artifacts as well. There were a few cauldrons Alex could maybe use too, but he sadly found no weapon.

“You didn’t bring any swords?” he asked.

“I would have, but we can’t leave the Demon realm, and all your weapons are so far away outside,” Whisker said.

Alex nodded. He knew that much at least. He worried for them a little too. The thing that was killing all those beasts, would it affect his other items too?

“Memory wasn’t with you, was she?” Alex asked.

Whisker shook his head.

Alex sighed. “Well, I can only hope she’s alright and do my best to get to her soon,” he said.

He took a few of the cultivation pills with many pill veins and was about to store them in his storage bag, but decided against it.

“Keep them in your Soul Space. I’ll ask for them when I need them,” Alex said. “Outside, they might be affected by the endless Yang.”

Whisker nodded. “The Yang is truly strong out here, brother. You weren’t joking.”

“You went around the desert?” Alex asked.

Whisker nodded. “It’s a fascinating place, the desert,” he said. “I saw that thing you called Shadow Dance.”

“It’s interesting, isn’t it?” Alex asked. “It happens because the sky is constantly distorting space, so light fractures as it comes in, causing your shadow to seem like it’s flickering. It’s an interesting phenomenon.”

“It was,” Whisker said. “But you never told me anything about the night. That was more surprising.”

“All the beasts? Yeah, they come out as soon as the sun goes down,” Alex said.

“No, not the beasts. The Yin.”

Alex paused. “Yin? What do you mean?”

Whisker paused as well. “Oh, right. You wouldn’t know, brother,” he said. “I only realized because of my whiskers.”

“Realize… what?” Alex asked.

“The reason why everything is full of Yang,” Whisker said. “It’s because the ground sucks up the Yin.”

Alex froze for a long second, unable to understand what Whisker was saying. “The ground… sucks up the Yin?”

Whisker nodded. “The day is as you say. The sun influences all energy to become Yang during the day. But when night falls, the energy slowly starts to change to Yin. But even as it changes, most of it is sucked into the ground for some reason.”

Alex stared at Whisker for a long second, trying to make sense of his words as he had never observed such a thing.

“Are you sure?” he asked. “I never sensed anything like that.”

“I didn’t either with my Spiritual sense,” Whisker said. “Only my whiskers helped me do so. The Yin is stolen away by the ground before it even has a chance to become strong enough to contend against the Yang.”

Alex thought for a moment. If what Whisker was saying was true, then it would make sense why this world had an abundance of Yang.

But then, why was the Yin drawn into the ground?

His curiosity on this matter was quite strong at the moment, strong enough to derail everything else he had planned.

So, he had to put a full stop to his thoughts.

“Whatever is happening, we can figure it out later,” Alex said. “For now, let us focus on saving everyone else.”
