Alex began his attempts to break through the Seal into his Soul Space. From what he was aware of at the moment, the seal on his Soul Space and his Spiritual Sea were two separate seals.
He had to break them individually.
So, he focused on the seal in his Soul Space first, since that was the one in the most danger right now. There was a chance that his Spiritual Sea had something similarly dangerous happening too, but between the two, he had to choose his Soul Space.
His Spiritual Sea only carried Godslayer and Midnight, but his Soul Space carried literally everything else he had ever gathered. As tough as the choice was, Alex had to go with his Soul Space first.
Hopefully, learning how to break through the Seal surrounding his Soul Space would help him with destroying the seal around his Spiritual Sea as well.
As Alex started fighting against the seal, the situation was more or less the same as what he had been facing the past few months. He had improved a lot since coming out of the prison a decade and a half ago, but that improvement had been slow enough that between month to month, it could feel as though there was no change.
At the moment, Alex could attack the Seal around 14 times before it reached a point where he would simply lose consciousness if he tried any more. So, the only way to improve would be to make it so that he could last longer.
The longer he could survive, the stronger his Intent would be.
So, Alex focused entirely on improving his Intent that way. Even when he was tired, he tried his best to constantly make use of his Intent. He wanted to waste no time.
Any free time he had, Alex spent it all just focusing on his Intent, and as he did, he began improving once again.
His improvement was quite slow. In the next two months, Alex barely increased from being able to perform 14 attempts at attacking his seal to 15 times.
The improvement was far too slow for what he needed. His Intent was still nowhere near close enough to place a dent on the seal as he was right now.
If he were to do things normally, Alex feared that it would take him at least another 2 decades at the very least to even begin to show the slightest hints of damage.
He had to do something differently. Was there perhaps any formations that could help him?
“Whisker, you have some Spirit Junction pills, right?” Alex asked.
Whisker nodded and brought out a few. “I have about 6,” he said, handing them over to Alex. Each of the pills had 5 pill veins on them.
The Spirit Junction pill was something to be used alongside the Spirit Conjunction pill in order to improve one’s Spiritual energy. It condensed the Spiritual energy inside of his sea, making it much denser and stronger.
While it reduced the total amount of Spiritual energy, Alex was fine with that.
He had now realized that it wasn’t the amount of times he was going to attack that would get rid of the seal. It was going to be the strength of his attack.
Alex’s Intent was so much stronger than before, yes, allowing him to last 15 attempts at attacking his seal. But if each of those 15 attacks were weak, then it was going to give him no result at all.
There was a difference between weakly attacking something ten times, and attacking something just once but with ten times the strength.
It was clear which of the two was more devastating.
So, Alex had to pivot his strength from one to the other. Instead of attacking many times, he had to attack just a single time.
But that single attack needed to have as much strength as he could muster.
Alex had yet to attack his seal at his full strength yet. Because the seal fought back by giving Alex unbearable pain, he had to stop long before his strength reached its peak.
As a result, his attacks were still much weaker than what he could do.
If he wanted to change that, there was only one thing Alex could do.
He had to improve his mental pain tolerance.
The more he could remain conscious even at higher levels of pain, the more he could attack the seal. He had attempted to improve his tolerance in the past decade and a half, but he had never focused on it.
Now, he had no other choice.
Alex began training now by attacking his seal with a constant strength, slowly increasing the pain he felt bit by bit. Even when it became unbearable, he kept at it to push himself further.
The urgency of the situation made him work many times harder than before.
The more pain Alex felt constantly, the higher his tolerance grew. He consumed the six pills over the next month and a half, improving his Spiritual energy even more, thus making his Intent slightly stronger as well.
While Alex’s pain tolerance grew quite a bit, the speed at which it grew was not something he was happy with. He had to improve it.
There were times when he wasn’t fighting the seal where he could still be improving his pain tolerance. So, after some thought, Alex went to the city and had a custom formation made just for him, that would only deliver mental pain and nothing else.
These sorts of formations or scripts were common to deter Sun Wraiths from attacking the cities. They came in all sizes, but their strength was usually much weaker than what Alex wanted.
He wanted a formation that would constantly attack his mind and do nothing else. A stronger version of what he used back in Palm Haven.
It didn’t take long for those people to create the formation. When Alex tested it, it worked wonderfully.
With this, he could finally speed up his rate of improvement. Hopefully, he would make it in time to save everyone in his Soul Space.
