Yu Dong brought down her sword heavily, but the beast seemed to be unaware of the pain. It fell on the ground and got back to its feet before jumping on Yu Dong again; seeing this, Yu Dong’s eyes flashed with annoyance.

She twisted it around such that one arm was behind her while the other one was holding the blade of the spear in the front. “It will be a waste of my time if I don’t cut your head off for all the crimes you have been committing. As for the rest, I will worry about them later on.”

The woman sneered when she heard the words of Xien Zhenya.

While Xien Zhenya was fighting the general of the army attacking them, Master An was looking for Yu Dong, who had hidden herself in the dunes of the desert. She looked around, feeling frustrated and annoyed with how Yu Dong had hidden herself.

Seeing that she could not find Yu Dong, she looked at the beasts behind her and ordered, “Go and bring that woman out.”

These beasts were hypnotised by her and thus they listened to her.

The second she commended them, the beasts rushed to look for Yu Dong.

However, as soon as they ran past the second dune, suddenly thorny vines reached out and attacked them.

Master An was stunned when she saw the thorny vines attacking the beasts. At first she didn’t understand what was happening but as soon as she felt someone’s presence behind her, she realised that she had severely underestimated Yu Dong.

She turned around but before she could even stop Yu Dong’s attack, the woman’s blade landed on her neck and smoothly glided through her neck as if it was cutting through butter.

Master An’s eyes widened as she looked at Yu Dong; her eyes flashed as she looked at the weird weapon in her hand but before she could understand what it was, her head rolled off her shoulders and fell on the ground.

Her eyes wide in horror.

Yu Dong brought down her hand that was holding the sabre sword; her expression was cold as she looked at the woman’s head and turned to look at the only beast that had been left alive by her.

It was trembling in fright as if sensing a predator.

Yu Dong instilled spiritual energy within the beast and ordered, “Take me to the city lord.”

The beast nodded after gaining sentience and turned on his four paws before leading Yu Dong to the city.

One beast and one woman walked in the darkness of the hidden alleys before reaching a small courtyard. Yu Dong curled her lips when she looked at the courtyard. No wonder the spies couldn’t find anything. It was because the so-called city lord hid herself in this small house for the sake of saving her skin and left someone else in her old house to pretend to be her.

She looked up at the small courtyard before flipping in a sleeping bomb.

As soon as the bomb landed on the floor, it started to release faint smoke that even the shadow guards were not able to detect.

And by the time they detected it, it was already too late.

Yu Dong jumped inside once she was certain that everyone had been knocked unconscious. At the same time she took out a bunch of poisonous gas bombs, with her face covered in a mask, she started dropping the bombs all over the courtyard.

Though she knew that there were children inside the courtyard, Yu Dong wasn’t going to be softhearted. Three months ago she decided to leave the child of a rebel alive as she thought that the child was innocent.

The result? That child joined the army of the next city lord and became a spy. She even tried to kill Yu Dong when the latter was asleep.

That was how Yu Dong lost an eye.

Having learnt from her lesson, how could she foolishly commit the same mistake all over again?

Yu Dong entered the house and waded her way through the traps before searching for trap doors. Though it took a lot of time for her to succeed, she was able to find them all after looking around the entire house three times.

Once she found the trap doors and hidden slots, she collected all the documents and information before setting the entire house on fire.

This was to send a message that the city had been conquered.
