Chapter 1079: 1079 The Noxus Archives

The archive hall was a massive library that looked more like a national treasure than a library of the sort that Wolfe was familiar with.

Everything was on memory crystals, not in books, so the entire area was just row upon row of glittering gems extending up a tower for five floors.

“Patriarch, if you follow me this way, there is a reference crystal that can help you sort by the training methods that you have used, the ones that you found most effective, and life experiences that you have had, assuming they have been experienced by one of the other Noxus Family Magi in the past.

The interactions with the Lowest Planes were uncommon, but not so uncommon that there won’t be anything at all about their interference.”

“Castellan Vladimir, please, call me Wolfe. It is custom where I come from to respect our Elders, and you’ve got at least a thousand years on me.” Wolfe replied.

The Vampire laughed. “In that case, call me Vlad. I might be older, but now you’re more powerful, and you have a higher position, Mister Wolfe.”

Wolfe chuckled. “That seems to be the name everyone ends up with when I eschew titles. Alright, let’s see what I can find in the Library.”

Wolfe stepped to the crystal and began his search.

The archive index’s mental image looked like the archive room itself, and at first, Wolfe didn’t realize that it was working. But when it asked him for his age and time to advance to each Rank, Wolfe dutifully filled it in and let the spell search for records that were closest to his situation.

“Please display the prophecy.”

[After the death of the world, the Inheritor of Magic will be born into the ruins of civilization. The Gods Above and Gods Below will favour their rule and make them the Magi King, ruling over a world void of morals for a thousand years.

Wolfe considered that. It certainly sounded a lot like him. He had been favoured by the Gods Below for certain, and he had a decent relationship with the Seraphim, who had members above the King Rank in the Upper Planes.

But it didn’t really elaborate. He already knew that a thousand years was the customary reign of a Family Patriarch.

Calling this world one without morals was somewhat ironic, as he wasn’t certain that it had any before the ’civilized’ ones as the crystal called who he assumed were the other Magi who settled other worlds, left.

“Without considering age, please give me a reference of documents relating to the King Rank progression of Magi with Lightning and Unholy aptitudes, who had their mana cores altered by the Lowest Planes.” Wolfe requested instead of going deeper into the Prophecy.

[Eighteen hundred and seven records found.]

“Please refine by instances where the mana cores were altered to match the energy of the lowest planes.”

[Six hundred and eighty-four records found.]

“Sort by most commonly accessed.”

[Most accessed is the legend of the Void Monster, Eighth King of the Nubian Era.

Second most accessed is the diary of Queen Divi, First King of the Divian Era…]

“Pause that. How can Queen Divi be a King of the Divian Era?” Wolfe asked.

[Queen Divi used her powers to transform her body into that of a female Magi without sacrificing her mana cores. There are four thousand seven hundred and four research entries on this field of study.]

“Is it actually viable, then, to give a female Magi mana cores?” Wolfe asked.

[There are zero entries where that approach was successful. There are forty-three thousand recorded instances where the reverse was successful, and fifteen thousand eight hundred children born of consorts who were converted from male Magi.]

Wolfe shook his head in dismay. Couldn’t they just have male consorts? Then he thought of Mary. Perhaps the love of cute things was more common in the past, and the Magi just decided to make themselves the cute thing.

It was possible to change his body size with his magic, so it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility. But he was getting sidetracked.

Curiosity always got the better of him, though.

“Please download the process for altering the body of another in this manner to my mind and continue with the search of relevant records to my prior request for records.”

[Third most accessed is the advancement of King David after battle against the Divine One.]

“Please access that record.”

Information flooded Wolfe’s mind, giving the history of King David. The Magi had been trapped in the Lowest Planes, and when confronted by a being known as the Divine One. The Divine One told Saint David that if they could win a challenge against the Divine One, a reward would be granted that would improve the Saint’s growth rate.

Upon realizing that the Divine One was a female, Saint David challenged them to a dick measuring contest, which was easily won.

Wolfe paused in the replay at that point. There was something seriously wrong with his ancestors. Everything that he learned about them made him question more and more if they were actually all senile or insane with boredom.

However, that challenge… No wonder he wasn’t given a choice in his challenge when he was taken to the Lowest Planes.

Wolfe continued to look through the records and found that what he had found in the record wasn’t all that detailed.

“Are there more records on the advancement process and training of King David after he interacted with the Divine One?”

[Seven records found.]

“Please send them to me in order of relevance.”

Again, information flooded Wolfe’s mind as he sat in the comfortable chair, lost to the outside world as he sorted through the information looking for answers that might help his progression.

It looked like this situation was very close to his own, in that the mana cores had been altered, but King David hadn’t taken on the aspects of the Lowest Planes, and had instead had his mana density improved to a near crystalline form, where Wolfe’s were before the incident.
