Inheritor Of Magic: The Magi King

Chapter 1158: 1158 Spread The Knowledge

[I have to go tell the others about this. They’re going to be so excited when they find out that we can actually fix regions where everything is dead, and even make the magic null zones that the mages were telling us about on the other planets into viable farms.] Stephanie informed Wolfe before darting off his shoulder to go look for more Witches.

“It looks like you’ve managed to get everything set up for efficiency these days.” King Petros joked as Wolfe led him to a sitting room.

“Almost everything. There are still some requests coming in that can’t be handled by a subordinate, and there will always be some issues that can’t be solved without my intervention, but for the majority, we have managed to get them on track.

The only issue is that for all but one of the continents, we’re just leaving winter now, and that means planting season for the first full year with the new spells, and that is guaranteed to point out all the flaws in a global supply chain.

Everyone has been working hard to make sure they have enough stock for all the equipment that will be needed, but there is always something that doesn’t go as planned.”

Petros laughed at Wolfe’s grumbling.

“Oh, I know the feeling, friend. With so many worlds under my rule, and so many of them barely more than primitive or just entering the feudal stage when we arrived with magic, there is a lot of work to be done in the Fallen Empire.

Fortunately for us, we have your world available to bypass many of the stages of development and train our artificers in more practical devices. We should even have our own car company on my home world soon, provided we can find a reliable local source of lightning crystals for the artificers.

The Divine One has been impressed with our ingenuity, but there are still many limits on what we can do with only Unholy and non-elemental magic,” he agreed.

“That shouldn’t be too hard if you’re buying them here. There are plenty of magic users who can make the crystals in their rough form and let the artificers cut them to shape.”

King Petros nodded. “The export of raw materials has been a huge boon to your world. But given another decade or two, we will catch up.”

Wolfe smiled. “Things will change fast once we have all the Academies up and running at full capacity. You’re right, it will be a decade or two before we have enough true masters to fill all the teaching spots that we need to move students along to that level, but we will get there.”

Wolfe poured them each a mug of Dwarven Whisky, and Petros frowned at the mug.

“How in the world do you drink like that? I’ve been wondering for a while now because you’re always drinking heavily at parties, but never drunk enough to be off your guard, or embarrass yourself.”

Wolfe chuckled. “Magi Magic. Or you can use a Cleansing Charm from the Witches to burn off the liquor to a point where you can still walk. I just modified my body for massive alcohol tolerance. It makes negotiations much easier.”

The two Kings drank in peace for the afternoon while around the Noxus Castle, the normally busy halls fell silent as the Witches, along with a large portion of the Fae, settled in to research the theories that Stephanie had put forward, along with the evidence that she had provided.

Wolfe and Petros were deliberately ignoring the many small portals that had been opened to investigate the situation and the progress, in the name of magical theory progression.

This, he suspected, was what the Magi homes and strongholds were like before the great war. Bastions of silent research as everyone worked to further their understanding of magical theory. Even King Petros found the atmosphere relaxing, and he was putting off his return to his own Palace, where there would be hundreds of politicians and military officers waiting for him to give his input on how the Empire’s many planets should deal with their issues.

Even just one planet at peace, as this one was, would be a huge weight off his shoulders.

“Alright, I should head home. I will talk to your mining groups later to arrange an import of raw gemstones. Most of my people don’t have the contacts to buy them here, so I will arrange it for them through one of my ministers.” King Petros sighed as it got close to midnight in Noxus Castle.

The Kings separated, and Wolfe went looking for his Pentacle members. However, when he found them, everyone was studying or out of the castle working. Even Cassie and Ella were studying while the kids napped.

So, Wolfe settled into his favourite library chair and began making blank memory crystals. Compared to textbooks, these were hundreds of times more effective. The students only needed to know the basics of how their abilities worked, and then they could learn the actual spells from a Memory Crystal.

The mages and most of the Witches in the world weren’t powerful enough to make a top grade crystal that would implant large amounts of data in a way that wouldn’t be easily forgotten. But Wolfe found that once he implanted a basic set of skills into one crystal, he could make copies in only a few minutes each.

So, that was his plan for the month. Just make memory crystals until he had enough that the Academies could pass them to every student, and the villages had a full set for students with potential.

You could go through a crystal a day, and he had made each of them a study on an Elemental affinity’s common spells. If they had a chance at reaching Rank Two, they had a chance to use all the common spells of their best Element.

It was the best thing that he could think of for the world. More knowledge so that none of the regions were falling behind.
