Chapter 6298: The Prowess of the Devourer Scepter
Whoosh!
Several chains suddenly shot forth from where Jie Tianran was.
At the same time, the formation chains below that had been binding Jie Ranqing also shot toward Long Zhuoyan and Chu Feng. Jie Ranqing was released as a result, but her silhouette dissipated right after.
She was indeed a fake.
Both Jie Tianran’s chains and the formation’s chains were enveloped in three layers of spirit power. They were far stronger than the chains that had attacked Long Zhuoyan and Chu Feng earlier.
“Hmph!”
Long Zhuoyan harrumphed. The formation scythe that had severed the chains earlier began striking the incoming chains, causing sparks to flare.
The clash was so fast that Chu Feng couldn’t see it clearly, but he could sense that the formation scythe, despite having easily severed the chains earlier, could only barely stand its ground against this wave of chains. It was unable to sever them.
Whoosh!
More chains flew forth from Jie Tianran’s direction. These chains resembled massive dragons, and this time, they were enveloped with five layers of spirit power. The chains intertwined with one another as if the dragons were collaborating to form a massive formation.
It looked like an unstoppable force. The sheer pressure coming from these chains left Chu Feng with goosebumps all over his body.
“How did that darned grandfather of yours get this formidable?” Eggy exclaimed in horror.
It was fortunate that Jie Tianran wasn’t around when he came here with Old Cat, or else they wouldn’t have the chance to escape. Jie Tianran was much stronger than they had anticipated.
“He must have hidden his strength,” Chu Feng said.
Jie Tianran’s strength had reached an entirely new level compared to the last time Chu Feng wreaked havoc in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. It was at a level where Chu Feng could no longer reach at the moment.
Even if he risked his life to unleash his Heavenly Lightning Nine Slashes, he still wouldn’t be a match for Jie Tianran.
The chain formation soon took shape, causing its prowess to be amplified.
Even the formation scythe protecting Long Zhuoyan and Chu Feng shattered in its face.
Long Zhuoyan released another surge of spirit power to block the chains, but it didn’t last long before shattering. Fortunately, she seemed to possess boundless spirit power that allowed her to summon a continuous stream of barriers to stop the chains, even if they only lasted for a brief moment.
“Whoever you are and whatever stature you have in the Ancient Era, you should have never picked a fight with me, Jie Tianran.”
Jie Tianran’s voice echoed from afar, but his figure was nowhere to be seen. He sounded much more confident than before.
“You look down on the Ancient Era just because you inherited an Immemorial Era’s legacy? You little twat. The best treasures of the Immemorial Era have been monopolized by our generation. What you have in your hands is merely trash that failed to catch our eyes! Let me you show you the true means of the Immemorial Era today!”
Long Zhuoyan changed her hand seal, and an inferno manifested. The inferno not only stopped the incoming chains but also melted them. In the end, only the chains reinforced with five layers of spirit power remained.
“Is that all you can do?” Jie Tianran sneered in disdain.
He conjured even more chains, and the chains also intertwined to form a formation. This time, the chains were reinforced with six layers of spirit power.
“Hmph!” Long Zhuoyan sneered.
The inferno she conjured flared with even greater intensity, resulting in a standstill.
Despite her composed front, she sent a voice transmission to Chu Feng, “Damn it! If only I hadn’t expended the bulk of my energy on dealing with the Immemorial Concealment Flood Dragon, I could have vanquished that brat in a single breath!”
Chu Feng could tell Long Zhuoyan was struggling, so he quickly replied via voice transmission, “Big sister, this is my private affair. I am grateful for your help, especially since I was able to confirm my mother’s safety. That puts my mind at ease. You don’t need to go all out to kill him today. I can take care of him myself in the future. This much is enough.”
“Shall we retreat?” Long Zhuoyan asked.
“Yes, let’s retreat,” Chu Feng replied.
Boom!
A pitch-black energy suddenly flared.
Chu Feng and Long Zhuoyan were baffled. The chains had blocked much of their vision, but they could tell that the energy wasn’t from Jie Tianran.
It was from Jie Tian.
Black aura was puffing out from Jie Tian’s Devourer Scepter. The black aura seeped into his body, causing his eyes to turn pitch-black.
“Jie Tian? What is that he is holding in his hands?” Chu Feng was taken aback.
The energy emanated by Jie Tian didn’t pale in comparison to Jie Tianran and Long Zhuoyan’s means, and it was coming from the scepter in his hands.
“What else could it be? It must be a vile treasure. The Seven Realms Sacred Mansion has picked up quite a few treasures along the way. That thing would be an invaluable treasure even in the Ancient Era,” Long Zhuoyan remarked.
At the same time, Jie Tianran’s voice boomed, “Stop, Tian’er! I suffice against them. You don’t need to intervene! Stand down right now!”
Jie Tianran diverted a portion of his spirit power to stop Jie Tian, but he had expended too much spirit power on the chain formation that he couldn’t stop Jie Tian.
Jie Tian gritted his teeth. He was bearing a tremendous amount of power that shattered his physical body and cracked his soul, but he continued to channel the Devourer Scepter.
In the end, the Devourer Scepter’s energy became one with him.
He raised the Devourer Scepter, and a black aura gushed out from his body. The black aura rushed toward not Chu Feng and Long Zhuoyan, but Jie Tianran. It morphed into a black cage that sealed Jie Tianran off.
This sudden twist in the situation left Chu Feng, Long Zhuoyan, and Jie Tianran baffled.
It was only when Jie Tian turned to Chu Feng that Jie Tianran understood what was going on.
“Chu Feng, save my mother!”
