Chapter 477: Greatest Lizard Army!

A Scaly tattoo glowed so much…

Back then, Jack had bleached it to oblivion, and yet it had come back, even stronger than before. But even then, he simply noted its appearance, preoccupied.

The new Class he had just unlocked was called… Soul Shepherd!

And reading the description, he couldn’t help but feel that it was already similar to the one he already had. But it seemed that just unlocking it had changed something.

[Ding! Soul vision Improved Drastically!]

[Remnant Souls Can Now Be Seen!]

[This is Active Passively!]

And with this, he suddenly saw the undead he had summoned differently. If before he saw the ungodly light in their eyes, now he saw a shadow of the soul they had been before.

Hell, he could even recognize a few that he had indirectly killed, not that it would change anything. But just as he swept his gaze, he jerked in shock.

“Wait, is that supposed to happen?!”

He saw tiny lizard souls even next to the living?! Those souls were different, way more animated and colorful as if their emotions were expressed through them.

Hearing his exclamation, his troops sent him concerned gazes, and he could only chuckle. How was he supposed to explain that he had just received the equivalent of mood rings?!

But before he could say anymore, it happened…

Groan! Groan! Groan! One after the other, the blood altar lizards were coming to. And as they did, many rolled on their side, opened their eyes, and froze completely.

A domineering white lizard with a Scaly tattoo?!

How could one lizard glow so much?! That, along with what they had seen in the visions, made many prostrate themselves on the ground. They were about to turn into cultists!

GREAT SUCCESS!

Jack sighed in relief: this had worked.

With this, he’d not only lead the only Legion to come out of the Lizardgeddon, but he’d even have tons of soldiers! In fact, he could already see a bright future awaiting him.

If he had caused so much chaos with only 80 lizards, then what would he accomplish with 1300 of them?! The sky was the limit! At this moment, he even saw bigger than that.

Maybe he could take over the lizard society!

Maybe he could train loyal soldiers!

Maybe he could attack Infinite?!

He, who had come here to stop the invasion, suddenly pictured a future where he controlled the lizardmen’s armies, turning them into his personal forces.

Orchards? He’d introduce them to pumpkins!

What would happen then? Would the game create an event to stop him? Would it even be able to? How richer and more powerful could he get before that happened?!

How amazing would that be?! How insane would it be?! How— but that’s when everything changed, with all the Lizardmen present suddenly glowing a bright red?!

[Ding! Disturbance Detected!]

[Lizardmen Bloodline Activating!]

[WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!]

“System, what’s happening?! What’s this?!”

He screamed for answers, and yet all he got was [ERROR! ERROR!] over and over. And just as he was trying to figure it out, his vision turned entirely dark.

He found himself in a bloody space, one tainted by corpses, tears, and infinitely demonic energy. No, it wasn’t the corrupting demonic he was used to; it was more perverse.

It was the kind of energy that wouldn’t fight fair.

It was the kind of energy that would hide.

It was the kind of energy he hated.

“You want to play? Bring it…”

Jack taunted, and then it hit him like a truck. It was a scene he was familiar with, the scene of that one evolution statue, the one with all the dead lizards.

Except, it was a thousand times more realistic!

He WAS the lizard in question.

He felt the pain of losing his loved ones, he felt their blood on his claws, he felt the stench of death around him, and he especially felt the rage bubbling inside him.

Where was he? What was he doing? Who was he? It all became meaningless in the face of the rage and the desire for revenge. And that’s when it appeared.

The same stiny snake from back then, Scaly.

It slithered toward him, its tiny body coiling around with purpose, and then it offered him ALL he had ever wanted. Oh, and it also urged him endlessly.

Revenge? Yes, he wanted revenge!

As if ink thrown on a sheet, the corruption stuck to his scales, turning them into a mix of dark miasma, and it did the same with his eyes, turning them pitch black.

All there was in there was an abyss of rage. And with this, the small snake suddenly started cackling, way too much darkness coming out of its tiny mouth.

It cackled endlessly, until it didn’t…

STAB! STAB! STAB! The blade in its skull stopped it dead in its laugh, its tiny brain exploding in a fog of miasma, its last vision a grinning Jack.

“Dumbass, this is a vision. Think I can’t manipulate it, too?” This was his own inner world; if he couldn’t even do that much, he truly deserved death, at least in his eyes.

Yet, he felt a chill down his spine. This was BAD!

Also, the thing had seemingly been gloating to something else before its demise. What kind of entity was it? Had this thing been Scaly or some nefarious fake? He didn’t know.

But he didn’t have time to ponder it either, hurriedly forcing himself awake. Sadly, what awaited him was a catastrophe. His 1300 lizard powerful army?

A vast majority of them had black eyes.

They had been corrupted, madness filling their eyes. So much for conquering the world with them! There was nothing he could do about it either. They were gone.

In fact, even their souls were pitch black and twisted, with glowing snake-like chains all over.

They had sold their souls away in the vision, irreversibly so.

That’s when they all rose at once, the earth trembling.

“ROOOOOOAARRRRRRRR!”
