MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1295: Results of the Ascension

"Nngh…"

Although he already knew that he’d fall unconscious at some point once he finalized his choices for the ascension process, the young man was still caught off guard as he fell asleep for who knows how long.

Giving his consciousness all the time it needed to rouse itself from its slumber, Valyr began to feel a bit more strength course throughout his body, only for that sensation to intensify as more and more time passed.

However, just as he began to wonder if there was no limit to how much his strength grew, that sensation of continuing to grow in strength eventually stopped five minutes after he’d woken up from his deep slumber.

Briefly lamenting over the possibility that hadn’t become a reality, the young man soon stood up from his bed, wanting to find out how much his strength had actually increased just from him ascending to a Rank 1 class.

"…Hmm." Deciding to start his test by doing a few basic movements, Valyr’s eyes slightly widened in surprise after noticing that the level of control he had over his body had become more thorough.

Though it was not at a level where he would be able to control every muscle that wriggled and writhed in his body, the young man was more than confident that he could bring out around 10 to 20% more power in everything he did.

Then again, with him feeling like all of his stats had undergone significant improvement thanks to the ascension, Valyr soon changed his mind, finding it more accurate that he’d be able to unleash at most 40% more power in everything he did.

Doing a few more tests after that, the young man eventually nodded in satisfaction, thoroughly confirming that he had gained far more than what would normally be possible for someone to gain during their first ascension.

Knowing that most of that reason was due to all of the elixirs he consumed, Valyr briefly had a bitter smile on his face as he placed his thoughts on the matter to the side.

After that, he commanded the system to bring up his notifications in front of him, curious as to what kind of skills his new class would give him.

Ding!

Hearing the notification sound go off in his mind, the young man immediately focused his attention on the screen in front of him, quickly scrolling down to the bottom of the list to see what skills his new class gave him.

[Checking prerequisite spellcasting skill…]

[Due to your new class, your passive skill ’Basic Spellcasting’ has been changed to ’Arcane Spellcasting’. The skill’s level has been reverted back to Level 1.]

[Checking prerequisite incantation skill…]

[Due to your new class, your passive skill ’Basic Incantation’ has been changed to ’Arcane Incantation’. The skill’s level has been reverted back to Level 1.]

[Checking prerequisite mana circuit skill…]

[Mana circuit exceeds the minimum quality threshold.]

[Due to your new class, your passive skill ’Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles’ has absorbed some of the concepts encompassing the Arcane, allowing a bit of its original splendor to return.]

[Although the acupoints and meridians are considered by many to be enough to an exemplary mana circuit, only by tapping into the existence of the stars can a mana circuit truly stand the test of time.]

[Your passive skill ’Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles’ has transformed into ’One Star, Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles’.]

"…Huh." Looking at the first three skills his new class had given him, Valyr briefly thought back to the various skills in his arsenal that also began to change after becoming a True Prodigious Blacksmith.

However, unlike that time, only two out of the three core mage skills he had was converted to better suit his current class.

On the other hand, his mana circuit skill remained the same, not being converted into a skill that had anything to do with the Arcane whatsoever.

If anything, his new class instead improved upon the mana circuit skill he currently had, bringing it one step closer to the original version of the mana circuit that was perfected by the Grand Sage a long time ago. ṘáΝồβËs̩

"Aside from that, the class actually gave out quite a lot of new skills," said the young man to himself as he shifted his vision downward.

[You have obtained the active skill ’Arcane Codex’.]

[You have obtained the active skill ’Basic Tenets of the Arcane’.]

[You have obtained the passive skill ’Basic Arcane Language Comprehension’.]

[You have obtained the passive skill ’Basic Arcane Tenet Mastery’.]

[You have obtained the passive skill ’Blessed by the Arcane’.]

"…I’ll take a look at their descriptions later." Getting a feeling that it would take a while for him to wrap his head around the brand new skills his new class gave him, Valyr decided to push the thought of looking at them to the side for the meantime.

With him having already gone through all of the skills his ascension to Rank 1 had to offer, the young man went ahead and returned his attention to the top of the list, quickly scrolling back up as a wave of curiosity washed over him.

[Your species ’Mystic Human | Junior Defier of Fate’ has been changed to ’Mystic Human | Junior Defier of Fate (1st Unsealing)’.]

[As you have transitioned to a higher-level species, you have gained +20 VIT, +20 STR, +20 AGI, +20 DEX, +24 INT, +24 WIS, +21 PER, and +19 LUK.]

[Your class ’Civilian’ has been changed to ’Emissary of the Arcane (Mythic — Growth)’.]

[You have gained +3 VIT, +2 STR, +2 AGI, +2 DEX, +6 INT, +6 WIS, +2 PER, and +1 LUK.]

[You have gained 4 unassigned stat points.]

"Definitely a lot more than I was expecting," said Valyr the moment he was done reading, briefly whistling in admiration.

With him being cognizant of the fact that elixirs greatly affected the amount of stats one obtained during the early ascensions, the young man wondered what would happen if he were to take the idea to the extreme, somewhat curious if the system would limit its effects in some way.

Then again, with him having gained over 20 points in each stat without the system even making a peep, Valyr soon understood that there wasn’t really much point in thinking that the system would stop him from abusing of its intended features.

After all, he’d already done that and far more back when was still in his other identity.

With him having already gone through his stats and his skills, the only things left for Valyr to read were the notifications that talked about the improvement to his stat coefficients, as well as notifications that told him he could now awaken his Technology Tree and unlock advancements.

Once he was done skimming through those notifications, the young man went ahead and closed the screen he brought up, only to then lie down on the bed once more as he let out a long and drawn-out sigh.

"…Man." Valyr felt a smile subconsciously creep up onto his lips. "I’ve seriously gotten a lot more than what I bargained for."

Allowing the excitement he felt from his ascension to subside, the young man soon took a look out of the window out of curiosity, realizing that he had yet to figure out how much time he spent to complete the ascension process.

Beginning to feel a bit of panic as he felt that he’d done something similar to the 3rd stage of the Records again, the young man eventually let out a wide sigh of relief after finding out he woke up at the night of the same day he started the ascension process.

’Then again, I guess it would’ve been fine even if I took two whole days to complete my ascension process,’ thought Valyr after that, coming to the conclusion that even if he were to spend that much time, it would be midnight on Earth by the time he left.

Faintly shrugging his shoulders as he discarded all of the what-ifs that went on in his mind, Valyr went ahead and allocated all of the unused XP he had left towards his levels, inwardly wondering whether he had enough for him to reach the peak of Rank 1.

Unfortunately, with the Tribulations of being a Junior Defier of Fate increasing the amount of XP he needed to go up a level, the young man ended up only being a few levels shy of reaching that point.

Ding!

[4,506,888 XP has been allocated.]

[Your level has increased by 13 levels.]

[You are now Level 23.]

[You have gained the following stats from your class: +36 VIT, +24 STR, +24 AGI, +24 DEX, +72 INT, +72 WIS, +24 PER, and +12 LUK.]

Whoosh!

Feeling far more strength course through his body the moment the system notified him of the changes, Valyr did not hesitate to do a few basic movements to acclimate himself to his newfound strength.

Sensing that he had regained full control over his strength once more, a hint of curiosity hit the young man at that very moment, wondering how much his stats had improved after just a single ascension.

Ding!
