"…I guess we’re good to go, then?"

Looking at Vera and the others as he briefly went over the things they did these past few hours in his mind, Hal had a slightly confident smile on his face as the question left his mouth.

"Ready as I’ll ever be," replied Vera with a faint nod, double checking to make sure she didn’t forget anything before they headed back to the east defensive line.

"Pretty confident we’ll be the first to complete the mission," said Valyr after her, his smile a similar type to the one Hal had on his face.

Then again, how could he not be confident after all of the practice he did alongside Harold and Nerissa?

"…We’re also ready," said Harold for both him and Nerissa, his expression serious as he briefly glanced at Hal and Vera.

However, as he shifted his gaze towards Valyr, the expression on the man’s face subtly changed as he recalled the various things they did during the past few hours.

After introducing themselves to one another, as well as what specialties each of them had, it went without saying that both Harold and Nerissa were left at a loss for words once Valyr began to back up his claims of being able to do pretty much everything.

Whether it was close-range combat, spearmanship, long-range combat, magic, healing, or anything else, the young man was able to show the two a considerable level of competence in that area for most of them.

But of course, although he could confidently take on different roles with relative ease, there were still some areas that Valyr truly specialized in, which Harold and Nerissa narrowed down to three things.

Close-ranged combat with the spear, magic utilizing his unique energy, and long-ranged combat with the help of his arquebus.

Considering that it would be safer for the three of them if they were to avoid utilizing close-ranged attacks on the Grand Chieftain as much as possible, it meant that Valyr’s only choices for attacking were either his magic spells or the arquebus he had.

Fortunately, it did not take much experimentation on their part to figure out which among the two would be the best option for their mission, especially after the young man found out he could use [Traceless] on the arquebus.

Although the idea was purely experimental at first, once the trio confirmed that Valyr’s ability to mask presences extended to the bullets he shot out, both Harold and Nerissa decided to bet more on the arquebus’ capabilities.

After all, with Valyr’s [Traceless] and Harold’s illusions working together to mask the bullet’s presence as much as possible, would the Grand Chieftain even realize he was being targeted before he died?

With that, the three worked around the idea of putting the arquebus as their first attack, making use of all the various buffs they had in their arsenal to boost the attack power of the bullet as much as possible.

Naturally, with him having mentioned to the two earlier that he had control over Mystic Energy, Valyr also made use of it to the fullest, combining it with mana to improve their stats even further than what Mystic Energy alone was capable of.

Unsurprisingly, Vera moved towards them because of that, greatly intrigued over the energy the young man made use of that felt awfully similar to the Mystic Energy she usually made use of.

And thus, with Vera’s buffs surprisingly stacking with the buffs Valyr had applied on all of them with the braids of mana and Mystic Energy, the four were eventually able to finalize their attack plan in their minds, confident that they’d be able to take the Grand Chieftain down no matter what.

"Let’s depart, then." Seeing as everyone in the War Squad was more than ready to complete the first part of their mission, Hal went ahead and dispelled the barrier surrounding them all this time.

Whoosh!

Subtly activating a reconnaissance skill after that to see if there were any beings in the area that had been spying on them these past few hours, the man eventually let out a sigh of relief after confirming that there were none whatsoever.

Glancing at the four that had been with him all this time, Hal gave Valyr a brief nod as the two of them went ahead and activated their respective movement skills.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

With that, it did not take long for the five of them to take to the skies once more, flying at an altitude that was significantly higher than the altitude they flew at when they arrived at the forest.

"We’ll be relying on you to mask our presences for the meantime, Harold," wrote Hal through the system, having created a group chat before the five of them even took to the skies.

"Don’t worry," replied Harold back with a nod, only to then start drawing a few magic circles in the air.

"[Lesser Mirage Construct]."

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Imbuing the magic circles with copious amounts of mana, the man soon positioned the circles in front of them before activating it, allowing the skill to both envelop and mask their presences in their entirety.

Nodding in satisfaction as he showed thanks to Harold through the group chat, Hal and the others continued to zoom through the air after that, arriving near the middle of the east defensive line just as the moon had begun to come down from its zenith.

Swoosh!

Cushioning their landings with a brief gust of wind, the five briefly looked at one another before shifting their gazes towards their current surroundings.

Exchanging information between one another with the help of the group chat, Hal soon asked Nerissa to scout out where the Grand Chieftain could be located, to which the latter nodded back in response.

Whoosh!

Making use of one of the stealth skills she had as an assassin, the woman swiftly disappeared from the senses of the other four as a faint black mist began to make its way through the ranks of the currently sleeping orcs.

While waiting for Nerissa to give them an update regarding the Grand Chieftain’s whereabouts, the four decided to move a bit closer to the east defensive line, making use of both Harold’s illusions and Valyr’s [Traceless] to mask their presences as much as possible.

Fortunately, even though Valyr wasn’t able to reduce the presences of the other three as much as he did himself, the slight effect his energy had on their presences by wrapping their bodies with it was enough for them to avoid detection of the orcs that were still awake at that time.

Swoosh!

Having decided that their meeting point be a large boulder near where they initially landed, the four only had to wait for a few minutes before receiving a response back from Nerissa.

"I’ve already scouted out a path to where the Grand Chieftain is." Dispelling the stealth skill she’d been using, Nerissa entered the domain of Harold’s illusions as she sent a message to their group chat.

"Any signs of the other War Squads?" asked Hal in return, his gaze towards Nerissa containing slight concern.

"I’ve passed by a total of 5 War Squads along the path I took to get to the Grand Chieftain," said Nerissa after a bit of silence, causing Hal and the others’ expressions to slightly grim.

Though, their expressions quickly returned to normal the moment they finished reading through the woman’s next words.

"However, it seems that these other War Squads are still biding their time on when to attack the Grand Chieftain, wanting to strike him at his most vulnerable moment."

"Are you telling that the Grand Chieftain is awake, then?" asked Hal, to which Nerissa shook her head.

"Quite the opposite," she said through the group chat. "Though, we’d first have to deal with the guards around his tent."

"Well, not necessarily," said Valyr, shifting his gaze towards Nerissa. "Are there other openings in the Grand Chieftain’s tent besides the entrance?"

"There are openings that serve as windows, if I remember correctly." Nerissa faintly nodded, only to then realize why the young man asked that question.

Of course, that meant Valyr also knew what she was thinking. "We’ll be using those openings instead to fulfill the mission."

"Got it." With most of them in their squad already knowing what Valyr was planning to do, it did not take long for the five to inch their way closer to the tent where the Grand Chieftain was resting, bolstering the skills they used to hide their presences in the process.

Swoosh!

Circling around the tent towards one of the window openings, Valyr went ahead and took a step forward, briefly checking to see how far the guards were to the spot he planned on using to target the Grand Chieftain.

Seeing that there was enough leeway for him to move about, the young man turned around to look at both Harold and Nerissa before giving them a nod.

"[Phases of the Azure Primacy]."

"[Traceless]."

Rekindling one of the properties contained in his Prime Azure Energy, Valyr went ahead and took out his arquebus from his spatial bracelet before swiftly going through the motions to arm it.

While doing so, Harold went ahead and fortified the arquebus with his illusions, making sure to mask both the presence of the bullet and the sound that the arquebus would make once it fired a shot.

With Nerissa remaining alert for any intruders on their operation, the young man then proceeded to activate all of his buffing skills as he activated [Extended Charge] on the arquebus, aiming the barrel directly at the Grand Chieftain’s head.

"Huuu…" Letting out a low sigh to calm his tense nerves, Valyr soon felt the arquebus reach its limit, prompting him to imbue a great portion of his Prime Azure Energy as he squeezed the trigger.
