MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1504 - 1504: Myriad Prodigies: Shifting Tides

Whoosh!

“…What…?!”

Expecting themselves to be the first targets of Erika’s next attack, Julian and the other two were instead left with their mouths agape as they watched a cocoon of dark blue energy wrap around her all of a sudden.

Watching the amalgamation of crimson energy gradually disperse after that, the three quickly looked around to see who cast it, only to find a certain young man make their way up to them.

“Hopefully I wasn’t too late,” said Valyr with a slightly wry smile as he briefly caught his breath.

“…I wasn’t too late, was I?”

“You’re just right on time, Ylvar,” answered Julian in return, with Liam and Eliathaea nodding in agreement.

Though they still found it lamentable that they weren’t able to rescue those that were in Erika’s vicinity a few moments earlier, they still felt a massive weight lifted off their shoulders the moment they were able to avoid further destruction from happening.

“So… what’s the plan?” asked the young man, informing the trio to distance themselves a bit further from the cocoon the former conjured.

Just as the three planned on asking him why they needed to distance themselves, the answer to their question soon arrived in the form of a massive explosion.

Bang!

Briefly dyeing the land surrounding Erika in a mix of dark blue and brown, the Earth-infused cocoon burst without hesitation, delivering most of its energy into the person within it.

“Gaahhh!!!”

Although Valyr hadn’t gone all-out in terms of his buffs just yet, his usual combination of buffs was still more than enough to inflict a decent amount of damage to Erika, who immediately cried out in pain after the cocoon burst.

“You…!” Spending a bit of time recovering from the pain she felt, the woman eventually stood up, only to find that the one that interrupted her previous ritual had appeared beside Julian and the others.

“You again…!”

Whoosh!

Letting rage cloud her rationality, Erika went ahead and sent a maelstrom of attacks towards Valyr and the others, wanting nothing more at that moment than to take revenge on the one that humiliated her.

“…Die!”

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Watching the flurry of crimson-colored attacks come for him, Valyr took out the Arcane Staff of Azure Primacy from his spatial bracelet before using it to cast a multiple layers of barriers and shields around them.

“Haah!”

Then, just as he was done casting those spells, the three arbiters activated their own defensive skills, overlapping them on top of Valyr’s spells in order to make sure they wouldn’t get hit.

“[Aegis of the Pyrrhia Forges]!”

“[Algerie Defensive Art: Unyielding Barrier]!”

“[Burden of Earth]!”

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Watching the overlapping defenses slightly bend under the pressure of Erika’s attacks, Valyr and the others looked at each other for a bit out of nervousness, wondering if their combined defenses was enough to withstand against the rage of a Myth-level being.

Fortunately, after a minute of continuous battering, their defenses still remained standing, allowing the four to let out wide sighs of relief as they took the opportunity to launch a counterattack.

“[Three Swords of Algerie]…”

“[Severing Mortality]!”

Swoosh!

Asking Valyr to back him up with spells on the side, Liam swiftly closed the gap between him and Erika as he unsheathed his blade.

Making sure that the woman was occupied by the support fire the young man gave him, he then took the opportunity to attack her at a vulnerable spot, striking diagonally as he imbued his blade with tons of energy.

“[Crimson Bulwark]!”

Although Erika could not sense any traces of Liam’s attack, the threat she instinctively felt from behind her was more than enough for her to activate her defensive skill, shrouding her entire body in a layer of condensed crimson energy.

Bang!

Watching his blade strike against the layer of energy than Erika’s skin, Liam could not help but click his tongue as he retreated back to where the other three were.

At the same time, one of the other three went ahead and made their own move on Erika, deciding to make use of the slight weakness Liam introduced to the former’s defenses.

“[Voyant Secret Spear Art]…”

“[Star Severance]!”

Whoosh!

Taking out a long spear from who knows where, Eliathaea swiftly moved closer towards Erika, positioning herself directly in front of the spot that Liam struck.

“Haah!”

Then, activating one of the stronger skills she had, she thrust her spear forward, giving it a bit of a spin as she imbued energy into it.

Bang!

“Aghh!!”

Surprisingly, rather than reactivate [Crimson Bulwark] in response to another attack, Erika instead let the attack land, confident that it could withstand another attack from a peak Rank 5 being.

Yet, the opposite of what she expected happened, with the spear still containing enough strength to send her flying after breaking through her defenses.

Crash!

With Eliathaea putting all of her strength into that one attack, Erika was sent flying towards another part of the amphitheater, forming a small crater on the seats because of the impact.

“Now it’s my turn!”

Feeling confidence well up within him as he watched both of his peers successfully land attacks on Erika, Julian felt that now was his best opportunity to attack, hoping that it would stop her from attacking altogether.

“[Pyrrhia Hammer Art: 3rd Stage].”

“[40 Ton Warhammer]!”

Taking out what was initially a small war hammer from his spatial bracelet, the head of the war hammer exponentially grew in size as Julian got closer to Erika, eventually rivaling a maxed out [Prime Azure Heavenfall] in terms of surface area.

Transferring the momentum he’d built up into the attack, the man then swung the war hammer as hard as he could, making sure that its center would hit Erika directly.

“[Crimson Bulwark].”

“[Scarlet Maelstrom].”

Though, with Julian taking up quite a bit of time to prepare his attack, Erika had recovered once more, allowing her to put up a proper defense before sending out an attack to nullify Julian’s attack altogether.

“[Prime Azure Heavenfall].”

Of course, the others saw it as an opportunity to land another free attack on her, with Valyr deciding to conjure a spell of similar size while Erika was still fighting against Julian’s attack.

[Scarlet Maelstrom].”

Remaining wary against all of Valyr’s actions throughout the entire fight, Erika soon had a slight smirk on her face as she used her remaining hand to cast another skill to keep the young man’s attack at bay.

‘With [Crimson Bulwark] active, there’s no attack that can hit me!’ She thought at that moment, inwardly cackling at the sense of despair she perceived from the four.

However, before she could continue relishing in their despair…

Puchi!

A sharp blade cleanly cut through her neck.
