MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1573: Improvise, Adapt, OvercomeChapter 1573: Improvise, Adapt, Overcome
Although the average strength of Greater Beyond’s player base had greatly improved over these past couple of months, it could be said that the foundation their strength had been built upon was a flimsy house of cards.
Confident that their low-rarity classes could be compensated with good equipment and skills, many of the players who went with this route of strengthening swiftly rose through the class ranks, with the majority of them easily reaching the peak of Rank 3.
As for those who were part of a guild, or were part of the elite, it was not difficult for them to reach the middle of Rank 4, with some even reaching the peak of Rank 4 thanks to a few fortuitous encounters.
However, the ones who had gone this route the farthest were surprisingly those from the Five Leviathans.
Among the five leaders, the weakest among them had reached the early stages of Rank 5, while the strongest among them had gotten to the middle stages of Rank 5.
Of course, with their high class ranks giving them the ability to explore more regions, it went without saying that the past two months had allowed these five to reach the peak of Rank 5 with ease.
Though, just as they planned on keeping their momentum going and ascending to Rank 6, it was at that exact moment that the system gave them a rude awakening, informing them of the various requirements one needed to fulfill in order for one to ascend to Rank 6.
Although reaching the peak of Rank 5 was one of those requirements, the other requirements the system had given them left the five leaders at an utter loss for words.
Throughout all of the other VRMMORPGs they played before Greater Beyond, the five were able to remain dominant over the entire player base, utilizing both their guilds’ might and their own skills to reach the pinnacle of strength in said games.
Yet, from what the system was telling them… their current strength didn’t even reach 10% of the strength needed to become a Myth?
For a while, this left the five leaders unsure of what to do, with even one of them venting out his frustrations over the matter on the forum.
Naturally, the fact that one of the Five Leviathans decided to complain on Greater Beyond’s forum all of a sudden caught many among the player base off guard.
However, once they took a look and read through what they were talking about, almost all of them understood the reasoning behind their frustrations.
Aside from that, it was also at that moment that the player base realized that Greater Beyond was unlike any VRMMORPG they’ve played before.
According to what that leader had said in their post, although they had a decent level of strength since they were at the peak of Rank 5, their actual combat strength only matched that of an average Rank 3 NPC.
And thus, the existence of the ceiling was finally revealed to the players of Greater Beyond.
Thanks to the ceiling’s existence, all of the players that went with the path of relying on levels for strength panicked over the next few days, wondering to themselves whether they keep their current progress or start anew.
In the end, after multiple debates on the forum, as well as their own careful and rational deliberation, almost all of them did not hesitate to wipe their current progress and start over from Level 1.
And with that, a new era for Greater Beyond’s players had begun.
Gone were the players that thought level was everything in the game.
Instead, all of the players that decided to start over sought out everything that could enhance their strength before ascending to the next rank.
At first, their attempts at strengthening themselves had only yielded their Rank 1 class to become Uncommon-grade, one rarity above the six Common grade classes that were given to them.
However, as time passed, the methods of strengthening one’s foundation gradually increased, with some of them even becoming mainstream throughout the player base.
In the end, by the time Valyr had gotten out of the inheritance, all of Greater Beyond’s players had Rare-grade classes at the minimum, with those that put in a bit more effort obtaining Epic and Legendary-grade classes.
Naturally, Ataraxia also helped the guild’s members strengthen their foundations during that time, writing down a general yet detailed guide that guaranteed the class they eventually got to be Rare-grade at the very least.
Though he initially intended it to be used by those in the guild that headed down the now-abandoned route of strengthening, a great portion of the guild actually reset their progress back to Level 1 because of it, realizing that they had missed out a lot in fortifying themselves.
With that, it was no surprise that Azure Coalition’s general strength had greatly increased.
“From what I could recall, the elite members of the guild currently have Epic-grade classes, while those who’ve signed contracts to become core members have obtained Legendary-grade ones,” muttered Ataraxia to himself, shifting his focus towards the guild’s territory.
“Of course, it’s only right that Thomas and the others also get Legendary-grade classes, as well as powerful subclasses that complement their current play styles.”
Continuing to admire the guild he’d built with Thomas and the others from the ground-up, the young man briefly thought about the rewards he got from participating in the Myriad Prodigies Tournament.
Specifically, the ones he had yet to obtain from the kingdom.
“Although we’ve been told we could enter the Ocean of Crystallized Truths at anytime, the kingdom has yet to update us on the plot of land as well as the items we could take from the treasury.”
As those words left his mouth, Ataraxia could not help but frown.
After all, if he were to utilize the plot of land and the treasury’s items wisely, he would be able to bolster both his and the guild’s strength to greater heights. Even more so once Valyr began to work on the armor sets they requested.
Though, just as he was planning on contacting Lunarossa about the matter, a small group of familiar people came up to him.
“Hey, Valyr.” Thomas waved at him to call for his attention. “The core members are starting to get impatient.”
“Then again, I don’t blame them. It’s been a while since we’ve last shown our strength to the other guilds.”
“Is that so?” Glancing at the four, the young man let out a chuckle as he pondered over his friend’s words. “What are your thoughts on the invitation?”
“I don’t mind going.” Thomas shrugged. “After all, not only would we get good equipment out of it, they also said we could get good skills if we help them out.”
“Same here,” said Lucques and Meria, only for Alisa to agree with their sentiments as well.
“Well, if that’s how you four feel about it, then it’d be stupid for me to keep rejecting.” Briefly flashing a wry smile at the four, Ataraxia eventually nodded back at them. “Alright, then. Inform the core members.”
“The Azure Coalition will be participating in the Realm of New Horizons.”
