My Werewolf System

Chapter 1272 - 1272: Don't Betray The Howlers

Trixie was there to watch it from the beginning to the end, unlike the others who had just caught the tail end of the fight Kai had. She saw him turning into his Wolf form, how fast he was, how strong he was and not just that, how calculated he had been.

Every movement he had made was with a purpose to disrupt Ivy in every way possible. To others it might have been seen as random movement, same to the one he was fighting against, but with Trixie who was on the outside, who often had to use similar tactics to make up for her disadvantage against other opponents, could see it all.

‘He was this strong all along, he had just defeated an Ironfang who had eliminated all of the Altered hunters that were with us. A man that strong had decided at that point to run away.’ Things were starting to become clear in Trixie’s mind. Back then when Kai had made a run from it, they hadn’t let him escape.

They were the ones that were let off. He could have eliminated them at any time he wanted. Especially if it was a surprise attack, and he still hadn’t done. More and more she was wondering, why did Kim do what she had done in the end?

It was clear as day that Kai was enemies with the Lupus group based on all of the attacks he had done so far.

“Kai…” Trixie said.

“I’m happy to see out of everyone who survived, that you did.” Kai said. “I guess that’s karma for you in the end.”

Kim had stayed by the side, and also didn’t understand what had occurred. She was a vampire knight, one of the strongest vampires in the settlement underneath that of the vampire leaders.

That was why it was difficult for her to even fight against an Ironfang. She had read the reports about the Howlers and their members. The only one they were told to watch out for was Gary himself, and she wondered why someone this strong wasn’t in the report itself.

There was a clear answer for that. At the time when the vampires had attacked, Kai wasn’t there. He had travelled to Notsburg, so the vampires had no information at all about Kai or his strength within the group.

Looking ahead, Kai was ready. They had taken on one Ironfang and now with the two of them they should be able to take out another. However, that was when Broodie had done something unexpected.

Using the power of his mighty legs he jumped back, and landed on a branch on top of a tree, digging his free hand into the trunk to keep him up there.

“This is not the last you will see of me, Midwak. Next time… we’ll fight until there’s only one of us!”

Broodie started to run through the rest of forest. Heading for the exit, or heading for a place to hide, it was hard to tell.

“He ran away?” Midwak said, his fists clenched. “After all of that talk, he ran away in the end?”

Midwak turned to look at Kai. Broodie was happy to fight against him, but after seeing what Kai had done, he had decided to make a decision, and the decision resulted in the current situation.

“Should we chase after him? There’s a chance that he could call for help?” Midwak asked.

“No, leave him be.” Kai answered. “He was not my main target in the first place, and even if he calls someone, we won’t be here long anyway.”

“Not the main target?” Midwak replied.

He found the whole situation strange. When telling Kai the truth about his friends, he was sure that Kai would ask to go to where they were immediately, but instead he had asked Midwak for a favour.

To help him with the situation that was going on inside the Garden. It was a good thing as well.

Kai predicted that he could perhaps take out these Ironfangs, but two at once would be difficult. He needed someone at least of Midwak’s calibre to hold one of them back.

Thankfully there were many things that were in Kai’s favour. The fact that he was fighting against Werewolves, it made his power stronger than when he went against Altered, he could feel the energy rising in him.

Then there was the terrain he was fighting in. The water allowed his powers great strength, the location of the bridge made it an easier target to attack as well out in the open.

Lastly, his opponent itself, was one that was based more on agility, than defensive or strength, but Kai’s agility was far higher compared to the others. Everything had lined up for him against this Ironfang, but he wasn’t so sure that would be the case going up against others in the future.

Turning around, Kai saw Trixie looking at her fallen allies. She was grabbing a piece of item off all of them. He guessed it was a type of keepsake so she could remember them. Because there was no way they could move the bodies in the situation they were in.

Trixie turned around, to look at Kai, she didn’t know what to say to him, but that’s when she saw him walking to someone else, he was heading towards Kim.

“What… what are you looking at?” Kim shouted and sneered. Her eyes were looking across the room at the dead floor on the ground.

“Are you going to kill me?” Kim said. “Because of what I did. You know our two groups are in an alliance and if you get rid of me, you Howlers will cease to exist.”

“You’re right.” Kai answered. “I am going to kill you.”

The moment she heard those words, Kim bolted for the dead floors on the ground, but Kai moved, grabbing her by the wrist stopping her, and then with his other hand, he forced it right through her head, striking cleanly through it.

“No one, betrays the Howlers.”
