My Werewolf System

Kim’s body fell to the floor and was unmoving. It was a clean strike to the head from Kai, and when attacking it was clear he didn’t pull back. Wight had pretty resilient bodies, they had a mass amount of strength and they were able to fight through next to any wound and regenerate any wound if they had some substance along with them.

That was all, as long as the head was protected. Kai didn’t know this fact, this was only known among the Werewolves and vampires, not a new pack like the Howlers, but Kai had instinctively struck the head.

He could see the countless wounds on her body. Since she was moving fine, he had theory, and in order to do the most damage he had struck where he thought it would do the most damage.

“Kai, what did you do!” Trixie said as she rushed over. She thought she might have been able to do something to help Kim, but she was unrecognisable, it was clear that there was nothing that could be done with what was left.

“What did I do, did you even know what she was?” Kai asked. “You were there when she had tried to pin everything on me, to try and attack me. You don’t know the full story of it, but we were working together to help take out the Lupus group. Both of us were in the same situation.”

From the conversations she had overheard when fighting against Broodie, she had come up with her own conclusions and it was along these lines. It truly didn’t make sense to her why Kim at the end of it all would do such a thing.

“I’m sure you heard, I’m from the Howlers group.” Kai said. “We’re not targeting out the Altered hunters, but we were here to help you guy’s deliver these packages. Because of what we are, it would have been difficult to get you to agree.”

“So it was a deal made at the top, and in order to not have any discourse they kept it this way.” Trixie said a little stunned.

But it was believable. The Altered Hunters had already gone through so many resources to take care of those from Ruin City. It was quite clear though they were failing. To get outside help to make sure that the mission succeeded and all of the losses wouldn’t be for waste.

“There was something else as well.” Midwak said as he was walking over. “Those Wight’s are nasty things. In order to regenerate they need to consume human flesh. In her last moments, you saw her darting over, she was heading for one of the bodies of the Altered hunters. It was a good thing, you stopping her when you did.”

It was hard for Trixie to comprehend everything. She knew about Altereds, but creatures that ate human flesh.

As Kai heard this he thought the Werewolves weren’t so different. After all they consumed others as well, but it was out of choice rather than necessity. In a way maybe their decisions were worse, so he didn’t care about that, but it was clear that Trixie was involved.

Meanwhile Midwak was still thinking about what Kai had just done. How quick he was to act, how he was able to make the quick decision to take out Kim. From the instances he had with Gary, he couldn’t imagine Gary taking care of Kim so fast. He would be hesitant.

‘Kai would make a good leader… If it was someone like him, then maybe I wouldn’t mind following them so much.’

Finally Trixie stood up. She wasn’t able to mourn over the death of everyone that was there. Not when there were still things that needed to be done.

“This area is clear now. I need to check my communicator and see what there is to do next. See if Cooper managed to get it online.” Trixie pulled out her communicator, and then she instantly saw the message.

Kai could hear her heart pounding slightly heavy compared to just moments ago.

“What’s the message?” Kai asked.

“It’s from Cooper, one of the Five star hunters that was here before us. He says that Lupus, is at their Garden. It’s the one that Blackjack and Pluto was sent to.”

“And the one that Austin was sent to as well.” Kai clicked his tongue.

They had a major problem on their hands. Austin was strong but to go against Lupus, it was hard for Kai to see him winning the fight, especially if he had the same strength as someone like Harvor.

Then there was Blake and Innu.

“I think… we might have to go to Blake and Innu.” Midwak said. “Although there is some time we have. It’s not unlimited. If Lupus is out, if anything it’s better for us to head to the two of them knowing that he won’t be there.

“If she was here, I imagine your friend has more support as well.”

“This message was sent out to all of the hunters.” Kim informed. “So I think everyone will head to where he is.”

Kai was thinking about it, most likely the Altered hunter they were aiming for Edvard would be there as well. But without the special delivery could he even fight against Lupus.

“Trixie, you stay here.” Kai informed. “The two of us, are going to go to one of the other Garden’s there’s something we need to do.”

Kai walked past Trixie, and she wondered where they were heading as that wasn’t the exit, but that was when they went to the two bodies of the Werewolves on the ground.

“Midwak, we need our energy, and I need you to be stronger. You consume her, I’ll get my energy back.” Kai ordered.

“Did you just say consume?” Trixie asked.

She saw the two men transforming back into their Werewolf forms and turned around. She could hear the sounds from behind that was making her whole body shudder.

‘What is going on here… what have the Altered hunters placed themselves in the middle of?’
