The crack in the Heaven Vein Mystic Realm continued to expand, and primal chaos qi surged from its depths. It was as if the very realm was wailing in agony.
Everyone stood frozen.
“What kind of power is this?”
Their voices trembled, their souls quaking in terror. Many top experts felt their confidence shatter like fragile glass, leaving behind only despair.
“What a terrifying attack,” remarked Xia Chen.
Even Gu Yang and the others felt a chill creep down their spines. They had never seen the white-robed Long Chen before. The latter’s sinister and oppressive aura was entirely foreign, and his powerful attack had sundered the very world, revealing the dragon scale’s hidden domain.
Amidst the devastation stood a lone figure before the white-robed Long Chen. A deep, jagged cut ran from the top of his skull down to his very core, cleaving his body cleanly in two.
“You treacherous trash, I never thought that I, Zhu Yin, would end up falling for the scheme of some brat. But don’t celebrate too early—you’re coming to hell with me!” roared Zhu Yin.
BOOM!
Zhu Yin suddenly exploded, scattering into millions of violet dragon runes that surged toward the white-robed Long Chen like a vengeful tide.“Zhu Yin Blood Curse!”
With a final roar, the runes exploded, unleashing a tempest of violet flames that devoured the entire dragon scale space.
The white-robed Long Chen hastily summoned a protective barrier. But the moment the flames touched it, the barrier shattered like brittle ice, causing him to cough up blood.
He had underestimated the curse’s potency. The flames were not merely burning him—they were infiltrating his very soul.
Suddenly, his body shuddered.
A streak of white appeared at the edge of his black eyes, spreading rapidly until one eye regained its normal hue. At the same time, his pristine white robes started to darken, and the evil aura coming from him faded slowly.
“You used me!” the white-robed Long Chen roared, his voice filled with fury as realization dawned upon him.
“Why phrase it like that? I merely gave you a free opportunity to perform. Shouldn’t you be thanking me?” Long Chen smirked, his expression as devilish as ever.
“Just you wait, the next time I appear, you will vanish forever!” declared the white-robed Long Chen coldly.
“Then see you next time.”
With that, the white-robed Long Chen’s aura faded completely, and Long Chen reclaimed control of his body. Around him, the dragon scale space had turned into a sea of violet flames.
These flames contained Zhu Yin’s dying curse that could devour flesh and incinerate souls. This wasn’t just an attack—it was an eternal torment that seared both body and spirit.
The white-robed Long Chen was affected, his body trembling under the curse’s invasive force. But the real Long Chen? He remained completely unscathed. After all, how could a dragon curse itself? Zhu Yin’s bloodline stemmed from the same origin as Long Chen’s. This so-called “curse” was nothing more than a joke to Long Chen.
Instead of harming him, the flames became nourishment for Huo Linger. Before Long Chen even had to act, she instinctively began devouring the energy, absorbing it like a feast.
“Heh, free meal,” Long Chen chuckled.
As he sat down and formed hand seals, his nine dragon veins surged forth, greedily siphoning the dragon blood essence from the burning space.
“You really are sinister,” the Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign muttered. “Zhu Yin was terrifyingly powerful, yet you conned him to death.”
Zhu Yin had been the Dragon Sovereign’s heart-devil, a rival who had grown alongside it. No one understood Zhu Yin’s strength better than the Dragon Sovereign itself. And yet, in the end, he had fallen so pathetically.
Seeing Zhu Yin suffer such a sullen death, the Dragon Sovereign couldn’t help but feel a bit bad. Back then, it had used words to trap Zhu Yin into a fair battle with Long Chen.
However, who would have thought Long Chen would summon the white-robed Long Chen to fight for him? Having condensed thirteen core veins, the white-robed Long Chen caught Zhu Yin off-guard.
The gap between them was insurmountable. Zhu Yin had desperately tried to shatter the altar and ascend to the same level, but the white-robed Long Chen never gave him the chance. Before he could react, his arms had been severed, and the battle was over.
In the end, a being as powerful as Zhu Yin was cut down like an insignificant side character. His death was truly pitiful.
The Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign sighed. If the white-robed Long Chen had known Zhu Yin could reach thirteen veins, with his pride, he might have given Zhu Yin the chance to fight fairly. But it was too late for regrets now. Zhu Yin was dead, and his final curse had only wounded the white-robed Long Chen. It couldn’t harm the real Long Chen.
After thinking about it, the Dragon Sovereign suddenly felt pity for Zhu Yin and the white-robed Long Chen. Neither of them truly understood what had just happened.
With Zhu Yin’s death, the dragon scale space erupted in flames. The towering dragon pillars and the ancient altar started to melt, their dissolution unleashing a wave of pure, unrefined energy.
“Enter the dragon scale and seize the dragon core essence blood!”
A furious cry rang out, triggering a wave of movement. But as they rushed in, they realized something—there were already innumerable figures ahead of them, frantically devouring the energy spewing from the collapsing structure.
Though the flames carried remnants of the death curse, these monstrous experts had their own means of resisting such energies. Moreover, as the flames burned, the curse gradually weakened, becoming little more than a flickering remnant that couldn’t threaten them any longer.
“Scram! This is our territory! We’ll kill any invaders!”
“Shut the fuck up! If I say this is my territory, it’s mine! Charge! Kill them all!”
Chaos erupted. The sheer number of experts turned the battlefield into an ocean of blood and steel. Despite the massive expanse surrounding the dragon scale space, only a fraction of the experts had actually reached the front. The rest were still embroiled in relentless combat, fighting tooth and nail to claim territory.
The powerful factions switched to defensive formations, simply doing their best to absorb as much of the sacred energy contained in these flames.
Although they were nine-vein Heaven Saints and couldn’t condense more veins, the flames contained more than just raw energy—they carried the sacred essence of dragon blood, intertwined with the profound laws of the Emperor realm. If they absorbed enough of this energy, their path to the Human Emperor realm would be significantly smoother.
There were many paths to reaching the Human Emperor stage, but perfection was what they all craved. After all, not all Emperors were equal—some stood at the pinnacle, while others remained mere shadows of greatness.
This hunger for perfect advancement was what drove these heavenly geniuses to such extremes.
While chaos consumed the battlefield, the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest had secured its position at the forefront of the dragon scale space—right before the massive crack that had split open. Meanwhile, the Dragonblood Legion was immersed in the burning dragon flames, prepared for the inevitable clash.
“Attack the crack! We’ll enter from there!”
Hou Tianwu’s roar caused Gu Yang and the others’ expressions to change. Someone was finally coming for them.
