Lord Qilin is a handsome and graceful man.

He has deep blue, flowing hair and an appearance that suggests he is in his late 40s, while in fact, he is over ten thousand years old.

He has an athletic build, and, like every Qilin in their human form, he has subtle, shimmering scales on his arms and neck.

With him came two others, also from the Qilin race. They are the two strongest elders in the Qilin Court.

Just like with the Dwarves, they approached the Half-Elves with polite smiles.

“King Thalirion. Queen Jascia. Pleasure to meet you all again.”

“Glad to see you too, Lord Qilin. I was told you managed to shut that Hand lady up while I was away. Nice one, Lord Qilin,” Queen Jascia said with a smile.

Kent, who heard her words, knew she wanted to call the leader of the Hand a bitch. However, to maintain her dignity and stellar reputation, she had to make compromises.

However, hearing that the Hand was overpowered by Lord Qilin, who even went ahead and stripped her cultivation base by four refining levels, made her very happy.

Of course, the Qilin aren’t known for their dominance if their emperor can’t even handle some arrogant bitch who seeks to suppress them.

He made sure she became aware of what he stood for, and that wasn’t to become the worker of an underworld organization.

Just like how the dragons made sure she knew they didn’t want to go into league with her like she wanted, the Qilin made sure she knew they honestly did not want to do anything she had in mind for the Beastkins.

Of course, other beast races still went into bed with her and, for the last years, had been doing her bidding. But for now, the Beast Race has no connection to the Hand when viewed from Lord Qilin’s perspective.

“I guess if the Warrior Queen herself acknowledged my feat, then I should be happy about it. Though I also heard the Hand lost hundreds of their best in your kingdom. That is impressive too.”

Both King Thalirion and Queen Jascia smiled, and King Thalirion responded, “While it would be good to claim credit, that feat wasn’t achieved by us but by Kent Madson.

He was the one who killed every last one of them, including Kenji, the Blade Whisperer, who had been under the command of the hand all this while.”

Lord Qilin looked at Kent and smiled, though Kent could see the doubts in his eyes.

Not that he expected just anyone to believe he was able to kill hundreds of the Hand operatives, and even went as far as killing Kenji, the most wanted killer in world.

After all, someone like him doesn’t exactly scream fear.

“I guess thanks are in order for doing all of us a great service, taking out the scum that has haunted most of us for years.”

Kent merely nodded, not having much interest in whatever Lord Qilin thinks of him. Ultimately, he doesn’t seek validation from anyone.

Those who have doubts about him will try to come against him, and he will be forced to kill them all.

For now, everyone can think what they want.

“We would like to officially make you aware that every last Beastkin will send representatives to the auction. I hope we are welcome,” Lord Qilin said after a few bickering exchanges here and there.

Of course, this was his way of letting the Half-Elves know they had accepted the invitation and would be coming to the auction.

This way, on the very day of the auction, even if there were any new changes, asking now means it wouldn’t affect them.

“We will be sure to welcome you all with open arms,” King Thalirion said, bringing a smile to Lord Qilin’s face.

“In that case, we will come early so we can explore your humble kingdom before the auction.” He turned to leave, but then he stopped and, turning around with a smile, he extended his hand and handed over two red tokens to King Thalirion.

“Take that as a sign of goodwill for this newly formed relationship between our kingdoms.” With that, he left, making the Half-Elves smile slightly.

‘Bunch of pretenders pretending to care when they just want what we have. Of course, when we are done with them, they will know a Half-Elf is not an easy target,’ Queen Jascia said inwardly, looking at Lord Qilin retreating.

If she were to be sincere, then she would say only the Dwarves are worthy of her respect, for they were their allies in a way.

She and the queen of the Dwarves are friends to some extent, who, back in the day, shared some happy moments. Had it not been for Queen Ylva, when Kenji’s dagger pierced Queen Jascia’s chest, she would have died.

But Queen Ylva used one of her most fabulous creations to save her, and for that, she is grateful.

Even if the last 1,000 years hadn’t seen the Dwarves helping the Half-Elves, if anything, at the end of the day, they saved their queen, so that counted for something.

However, the others merely want to use the Half-Elves, and when they have obtained what they want, they will reveal their true colors.

That is the worst kind of evil, and they are ensuring its success. However, the Half-Elves are also not going to reveal their true nature until it is necessary.

Queen Elenara was seething in anger while she watched the races she had a good relationship with now sucking up to the Half-Elves.

If anything, she most certainly would want the Half-Elves to drop dead, for she didn’t like what she was after to be discovered by them. But now, she was starting to suspect the Half-Elves wouldn’t be in the dark for long.

That both made her weary and pissed off like hell.

Kent was also now more focused on something else, and that was the demons.

The Blood Demons, in particular, were looking at him with extreme killing intent. It was as if, at any moment, they would lunge at him.

‘Why not ask them what they want?’ Kent smiled in his head. He looked toward the Blood Demon King and asked,

“Excuse me, Mr. I don’t suppose we met before, or we share the same parents, so why then are you looking at me with extreme killing intent?”
