All the noise died down when Kent asked the question.

They all turned to the Blood Demon King, who, for a moment, looked surprised, then a frown appeared on his face.

“What did you just say?” he asked, emitting a faint killing intent that was now visible to everyone. Initially, his killing intent was directed at Kent, making only him capable of sensing it.

But now, he had made his intentions known. He wanted to see an intimidated look on Kent’s face, but all he saw was defiance. That alone pissed him off.

Kent doesn’t hold him in high esteem, which to someone like him was a huge insult.

Kent looked at him for a few seconds and smirked.

“I said what I said and I meant every last word. Why the hell are you looking at me with killing intent like I stole your wife?”

The aura around the Blood Demon King intensified just watching Kent’s smug expression. Of course, no matter how much he wanted to see Kent panic, nothing of the sort happened.

It was like Kent didn’t even see him as a threat.

“Save yourself the struggle, for even if there are ten of you, I wouldn’t even have to raise my hand to kill you.

That said, I want to make it clear that my conflict lies with the Hand; if you choose to become their dogs and attack me, then I will defend myself.

Defending myself will likely result in bloodshed, and while I would love to avoid that, blood doesn’t scare me.

So, while I am still smiling, take my advice and save yourself and your people.”

Subtle.

Kent’s threat was subtle at best, but it contained an underlying menace, one that made everyone aware of his stance.

Kent isn’t against them. If anything, he wants them all to succeed, just as he wants the Half-Elves to. He doesn’t want to destroy; instead, he plans to build the various races in Sonox.

He knew what he would gain from that in the long run, so that was his aim.

To him, the Hand is his only enemy worth paying attention to. So while he would love to have a peaceful life with everyone, he also plans to make them aware that they are not his enemies.

His enemy is the Hand, so if anyone were to ally with them, they would also become his enemy.

He made the Half-Elves aware of this, and he was ensuring the others became aware of it too.

His words resonated with them. He could see the looks that appeared in their eyes and plastered on their faces.

They sensed it. They felt it. And they knew it.

The brat standing before them is not afraid of them. Not even one bit. If anything, Kent was saving himself the struggle because to him, killing even a single one of them would be a waste of soul essence.

He values every last one of them because they are potential soul essence.

Before coming to this part of the world, he had plans to commit a couple of massacres on an unprecedented level.

He was prepared to kill.

However, when he saved the three Half-Elves, his plans changed accordingly.

He saw his future linked to millions of worlds. He saw Galaxies, comprising thousands of star systems and planetary alliances, all connected to him, empowering him.

He saw an endless supply of soul essence.

When Paragon gave him the ‘Soul Universe’ technique, he told him that if he managed to walk the path to the peak, then in all of existence, nobody could measure up to him.

Kent wanted that. He had already glimpsed his past lives, and what he saw terrified him, so he planned to make his life in this life much more impressive. He planned to grow several times stronger this time.

This time, he planned not to fail. He planned to make his presence a source of hope for the hopeless. And to do that, he needed people. But to need people is to kill those who want to waste human life.

The Hand is that evil that wants to waste the life he needed. So he will do what he does best and unleash chaos on all those who come against what he cherishes.

“Let me be honest with you all. There is no outcome where any of you succeed in killing me. If anything, I am more impressed that I won’t even struggle against any of you.

But that doesn’t mean I am supreme and can easily trump over you all. However, you wouldn’t want to put that to the test.

None of you knows anything about me. Where I came from, who backs me, or what I am capable of. But the same cannot be said for you.

I know everything, and while I am not the kind that likes to use underhanded means, I also wouldn’t hesitate to use any underhanded means to destroy you. So please, for your sake, back down while you still have a chance.”

Kent then turned to the Blood Demon King specifically. “The one who foils your plans in the Dead Region is looking for blood. I can perhaps cool her down. Of course, you can be arrogant and say whatever you want.

But know this, if she wants you all gone, she will be able to do it within an hour. Perhaps, the only reason she hasn’t yet is because I told her not to.

So, yet again, behave yourself, or you won’t only be dooming yourself, but your entire race as well. As for what you’re after, I have dozens of ways to help you achieve it, but that will depend on what happens in the next few days.

If I see you worthy, I will do my best to help you; otherwise, I will allow whatever Karma you have accumulated to explode in your faces.

That will be all. Now, if you don’t mind me, you can go on with what you were doing before this unfortunate moment.”

Words are indeed powerful. With just a few lines, one can shatter the ideas of many. Kent had just used words to shatter the ideas of the demon race.

‘Mother would have been proud of me,’ Kent smiled in his head.

If he went ahead and wiped out the demon race, the rest would fall in line and fear him like the plague. But he didn’t do that. He used his words, and the outcome was exactly how he had expected it to be.

They are afraid of him, and he can see that. In a way, they are now more than ever weary of the one called Kent Madson.

Some started asking the questions that they should have asked when the Hand came to them to help kill Kent.

They never even wondered about that, for the rewards offered were just too enticing. But now, it was plain to them that Kent Madson is no simple person.

And now that they see that, they would be forced to think logically instead of diving headfirst into anything that will invite doom for everyone.

Like Kent said, they don’t know him or have any idea of his background. That alone is enough for them to start thinking logically now.

After all, while they can’t get to the other worlds, they are more than aware there are worlds out there. Who is to say he isn’t some big shot’s son from an even more powerful world than their own?
