Before dawn the next day, Sasuke hurried to the practice ground.

“Good morning, Sasuke!” Kakashi, who was already at the training ground, greeted Sasuke from a distance.

With that in mind, he restrained his thoughts, and asked Kakashi, “Then what are we going to do? You say targeted training… but how are we going to perform that?”

Kakashi began explaining, “First point… killing your opponents is strictly prohibited in the third phase, additionally, because of the presence of Daimyo-sama of the five great nations, Deidara of Iwagakure will be limited as he will not be allowed to use Dust Release Kekkei Tōta… which leaves him with Explosion Release… The good news for you is that Deidara’s Explosion Release Kekkei Genkai can be countered with Lightning Style…”

Sasuke was surprised, “Huh? Really?” He couldn’t figure out how Lightning Style would counter Explosions, if anything lightning would increase the explosive effects.

But if shape transformation cannot be applied to Explosion Style, then how do you channel this chakra? You cannot release it from the mouth like Wind, Water, Fire… and many other Jutsu Styles… and although it is possible to release Explosion Style through the palm, it’s very dangerous, there is always a possibility of self-harm during release.”

“Hmm…” nodded Sasuke agreeing with Kakashi, and said, “Is that why Deidara of Iwagakure uses that white stuff? Is that explosive clay?”

Since Deidara is supposedly a member of Amatsukami whom he was targeting during this Chūnin Exam as such Sasuke has studied Deidara a little and knows that Deidara uses Clay creations to create explosions.

“Yes, he uses explosive clay, and you can use that to your advantage,” nodded Kakashi with a smile not explaining further. He believed that with Sasuke’s ingenuity, he should be able to figure out what he was trying to say.

Sasuke pondered for a moment, and immediately realized, “I see, Lightning Chakra is counter to Earth Style Chakra, it will destroy those clay creations…”

“Precisely…” nodded Kakashi, satisfied with Sasuke’s quick thinking. Then he added, “So, Deidara shouldn’t be a problem for you as long as you are careful and don’t let down your guard…”

Sasuke agreed, “Yes,” not for a moment he believed that he would lose to Deidara, and snorted to himself, ‘Humph! Even if he were to use Dust Release, I’d still win!’

Unaware of Sasuke’s thoughts, Kakashi continued, “The problematic ones are Darui of Kumogakure as well as Raijin of Amegakure. Both of them are masters of Lightning Style, and their Lightning Style is superior to yours. In order to stand a chance against these two, you’d have to not only Master Wind Style which can counter Lightning Style, you’ll have to upgrade your Lightning Style too…

Mastering a completely new Chakra Nature is not easy, but you don’t necessarily have to master a Chakra Nature to learn a few Jutsu of that Chakra Nature, you have Sharingan, and that can help you copy Jutsu, we are going to use that. Both of us will create a Shadow Clone, my Shadow Clone will perform different Wind Style Jutsu and your Shadow Clone will copy them, then practice them…”

“Alright…” nodded Sasuke creating a Shadow Clone, and Kakashi did the same as another Sasuke and Kakashi appeared on the field. The Shadow Clone Kakashi and Shadow Clone Sasuke nodded to their original self, then went to the other side of the field to train Wind Style. Sasuke then looked back at Kakashi, “What about upgrading the Lightning Style?”

Kakashi questioned, “You should have heard about Darui’s Black Lightning and Raijin’s White Lightning, right?”

Sasuke nodded, “Yes,” and said with an unbelievable expression, “Performing the Nature Transformation on a Single Chakra Nature. I did not expect such a thing was possible… Moreover, both of them have mastered it.”

In response to Sasuke’s unbelievable expression, Kakashi smiled, he then weaved hand signs as purple lightning covered his right hand, and said, “They aren’t the only ones to have successfully completed the Nature Transformation of a single Chakra Nature.”

“Huh?” Looking at Lightning wrapped around Kakashi’s arm, Sasuke was takenaback, “Kakashi-Sensei, you too?”

Kakashi nodded, “Yes, I too have mastered it. After watching Darui’s Black Lightning and Raijin’s White Lightning, I was able to figure out how it’s done, and successfully did it.”

Hearing Kakashi’s explanation, Sasuke was speechless and looked at him weirdly.

This kind of thing is no less difficult than developing a Kekkei Genkai, Kakashi said that he figured out how to do it just from watching others, it’s like him saying ‘I watched that guy use Ice Style, and figure out how to do it, then when I tried, I did it,’ simply put, it is absurd.

Kakashi did not care about Sasuke’s speechless expression, and said, “This is what you have to master, and only by mastering Nature Transformation on a Single Chakra Nature will you stand a chance against Darui or Raijin. But don’t worry, we have about a month, although one month might not be enough, I will still try my best to teach you within this month so that you can master it.”

The corner of Sasuke’s lips arched into a smirk, “Kakashi-Sensei, even without Sharingan, you were able to master Nature Transformation on a Single Chakra Nature just by watching… I have the Sharingan, and I have you to teach me, there is no way I won’t be able to master it within a month.”

Kakashi glanced at the three tomoe whirling in Sasuke’s eyes and nodded to himself.

As Sasuke said, Sharingan has a unique advantage in discerning and copying ninjutsu, therefore, it might not be surprising if Sasuke were to master Nature Transformation on a Single Chakra Nature in less than a month.
