In truth, ‘Madara’ is more interested in Shimura Danzō than even Nagato. His interest in Danzō comes from his research of the Chimera Jutsu that he has been doing for the past few months. Based on his understanding of Chimera Jutsu, from the scroll that Hiroku left behind, the Chimera Jutsu isn’t as high level as mastered by Danzō, which means that acting Hokage turned traitor made some of his own that Jutsu which resulted in him attaining that monstrous strength.

To figure this out, ‘Madara’ even tried searching for the Root researchers who might have been part of Danzō’s Chimera Research Project but turns out that each and every one of them was dead… all of Danzō’s research had died on the same night he completed the ritual. Whether their death was Danzō’s handiwork or not difficult to figure out, but one thing is certain Jutsu’s potential was severely underestimated by him.
