Chapter 1103: Raijin vs Uchiha Sasuke II

Because of the mask Raijin wore, Sasuke couldn’t see his expression or sense his emotions. But when the Amatsukami member didn’t interfere with the setup of his wire formation, Sasuke sneered inwardly. “Hmph, the so-called members of the God Organization aren’t all that. This battle might be easier than I thought!”

Raijin, with his Sharingan activated, casually glanced at the wire formation around him before locking eyes with Sasuke.

Sa!

In an instant, both vanished in a flash of speed.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The rapid sound of metal clashing echoed across the field, accompanied by a spray of sparks from each violent collision.

“This is… too much!”

“I can’t even see them clearly!”

“It reminds me of the battle between Hokage-sama and Uchiha Shisui-sama!”

“What are you talking about? That was Hokage-sama and Shisui-sama! These are Raijin and Uchiha Sasuke—they’re just Genins.”

“Yeah, but they’re fast, aren’t they?!”

“Well, when you put it that way…”

“What’s happening? How are they moving so fast?”

Amidst the sharp clashing sounds and flying sparks, two ghostly figures darted across the battlefield, colliding back and forth at such speed that, despite it being broad daylight, it gave the eerie sensation of encountering specters in the dead of night, leaving the audience bewildered.

Unlike the general spectators, the shinobi in the stands and the candidates in the resting areas frowned in concentration. What surprised many was that Raijin wasn’t prioritizing the destruction of Sasuke’s steel wire formation. Instead, he was eagerly engaging in combat within the restricted and hazardous environment Sasuke had set up.

Konohagakure’s Waiting Room

Rock Lee sighed with a serious expression. “Sasuke’s speed has improved again!”

Naruto nodded enthusiastically. “Yeah, it’s way faster than during the Forest of Death!”

Guy added, “It’s not just his speed. His reflexes, coordination, and even his overall body control have all advanced significantly. To make this much progress in just a month—it’s remarkable!”

Fighting within a wire formation is vastly different from regular combat on open ground. The two are entirely different challenges. Not only does Sasuke have to focus on battling his opponent, but he also needs to be constantly aware of the wire placement to avoid accidentally triggering his own trap, which could result in self-inflicted injuries. This requires a perfect blend of physical prowess, sharp perception, and mental focus.

Asuma, puzzled, asked, “Hey, Kakashi, what kind of special training have you been putting Sasuke through lately?”

Kakashi smiled mysteriously. “Hahaha, wouldn’t you like to know?”

Kimimaro’s usually calm expression gradually grew serious as he murmured to himself, “How has his taijutsu improved so drastically?”

Haku, who had also fought against Sasuke before, was equally puzzled. “Yes, it’s only been a month, but he seems like a completely different person.”

Jugo added, “Perhaps it’s this extraordinary talent that drew Orochimaru-sama’s attention.”

Kimimaro sighed, “Now, I really want to fight him.”

Upon hearing Kimimaro’s remark, Haku and Guren exchanged glances before falling into a shared silence.

Just yesterday, Tsunade had confirmed Kimimaro’s worst fear—that his blood disease was beyond her skill to cure. In fact, there may not be an Iryō-nin in the world capable of saving him. The harsh truth was that current medical ninjutsu simply wasn’t advanced enough to heal him.

Shinichi, leaning against the wall with his arms folded, gazed at the battlefield and said with a grin, “Am I imagining things, or has Sasuke really grown up?” He paused for a moment, shaking his head as if refusing to believe the idea. “Nah, I’m overthinking it… it’s still too early to say he’s grown up.”

Shisui glanced at Shinichi with a helpless expression, choosing not to argue. Instead, he simply remarked, “As expected, Kakashi-san really is the best mentor for Sasuke.”

Shinichi laughed, shifting his focus to Raijin. “I wonder if Raijin can hold his ground. If Sasuke kills him, the Boss will probably be furious!” He folded his arms tighter and added, “I think Boss should’ve sent Samsara to fight Sasuke. If it had been her, Sasuke would’ve definitely lost.” Though he didn’t know the full extent of Tengu’s or Raijin’s power, Shinichi was convinced that Samsara was the strongest of the three due to her Rinnegan.

Shisui shook his head. “Kuroto-san probably doesn’t want anyone to know Samsara has the Rinnegan.”

Fighting Sasuke might expose her secret, and Shisui suspected Kuroto wanted to avoid that, which explains why Samsara wasn’t chosen for the fight.

“Yeah, I guess that makes sense…” Shinichi nodded thoughtfully, finally understanding.

At the Arena

The more Sasuke fought, the more unnerved he became. He had anticipated Raijin being able to keep up due to his use of the Sharingan, but Sasuke had expected him to tire out quickly, considering how draining the Sharingan could be on a non-Uchiha. Yet, for some reason, Raijin didn’t seem fatigued at all. If anything, it felt like Raijin was going easy on him, as though he could fight like this all day.

“Damn it, this can’t go on!” Sasuke muttered to himself, realizing that his steel wire trap had not worked as intended. Raijin hadn’t even bothered to destroy the wires. Seizing a brief opening, Sasuke quickly changed tactics and formed hand signs.

Chirrrrpppp!

The high-pitched chirping of a thousand birds filled the air as a blinding flash of electricity ignited in Sasuke’s right hand—Chidori. At the same time, Sasuke’s left hand flung four kunai, striking the shurikens and broken blades embedded in the four corners of the wire array with perfect precision.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The kunai impact triggered a chain reaction, causing the steel wires to tighten and snap the shurikens and blades out of the ground. The entire array lifted into the air like a giant net, quickly entangling Raijin.

Sasuke’s Sharingan spun rapidly, and he maintained a calm expression as if everything was going according to plan.

‘Chidori-Flow!’ With a sudden motion, Sasuke channeled the Chidori from his right hand into the steel wire mesh, turning it into a dazzling electric grid that enveloped Raijin.

However, Raijin remained unfazed. Holding a kunai in one hand, he instantly activated White Lightning and swung the kunai, now coated in White Lightning, toward the electrified grid. His kunai, enhanced by the White Lightning, was far sharper and more powerful than the steel mesh charged with ordinary lightning chakra.

Just as the power grid was about to collide with Raijin’s kunai, Sasuke smirked and shouted, “Purple Lightning!

In an instant, the electric grid’s blue lightning transformed into a fierce purple current, surging with even greater intensity.

VIP Stands.

“This…!?” The Yondaime Raikage shot up from his seat, an incredulous look on his face. “You… you are kidding, right?” he muttered in disbelief.

And it wasn’t just him. Several other Kages, with the exception of the Godaime Hokage, ‘Kuroto,’ were equally astonished. None of them had anticipated that the young Sasuke would be capable of mastering a Single Chakra Nature Transformation at such a young age.
