Chapter 1104: Raijin vs Uchiha Sasuke III

“How can this be!?” Ay muttered in shock. The Single Chakra Nature Transformation of the Lightning Chakra Nature was something even he, the Raikage, had never managed to complete. Such a thing is something very few ninjas have been able to do, and almost always, these ninjas have been from Kumogakure such as Sandaime Raikage and Darui but now all of a sudden, both Amegakure’s Raijin and Konoha’s Genin, Uchiha Sasuke, had mastered such a technique. It was unacceptable for the Yondaime Raikage to witness this.

The significance of completing the Single Chakra Nature Transformation was immense—far more difficult than it seemed. If it were easy, Ay, who was proficient in Lightning Style and had the guidance of his father, Sandaime Raikage, would have long since mastered ‘Black Lightning.’

Yet, to this day, even he hadn’t.

Watching ninjas who are still green behind their ears and accomplishing things that even he, the Raikage couldn’t, Ay felt frustrated.

The Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, wore a similarly troubled expression.

He couldn’t help but feel uneasy. Was it sheer natural talent that allowed Raijin to master ‘White Lightning’ and Sasuke to master ‘Purple Lightning’? Or is there something else, like a special technique or something that can be proliferated?

If it was the latter, it would spell big trouble for Iwagakure. Lightning Style already had a natural advantage over Earth Style, and if the methods of mastering advanced Lightning techniques like ‘Black Lightning,’ ‘White Lightning,’ or ‘Purple Lightning’ became widespread, Iwagakure—whose ninjas relied heavily on Earth Style—would face tremendous pressure.

Unlike the frustrated Raikage and the concerned Tsuchikage, the Kazekage and Mizukage, though initially surprised by the display of Purple Lightning, quickly regained their composure. They didn’t seem overly concerned and continued to observe the battle with thoughtful expressions.

Kumogakure’s Waiting Room

Shee rubbed his eyes in disbelief and asked Darui, “Darui, did Uchiha Sasuke really use ‘Purple Lightning’? Could it be a Genjutsu?”

Darui’s face was serious as he replied, “No, it’s not a Genjutsu. Uchiha Sasuke has actually completed the Single Chakra Nature Transformation of the Lightning Chakra and mastered a unique form of Lightning Style, which appears to be ‘Purple Lightning’.”

Atsui, still confused, asked, “Is it really that easy to perform Single Chakra Nature Transformation with Lightning Chakra?”

Darui shook his head, pursing his lips. “No, it’s far from easy. If it were, wouldn’t more Kumogakure shinobi have already mastered it?”

Konohagakure’s Waiting Room.

Asuma, visibly shocked, exclaimed, “Isn’t this the ‘Purple Lightning’ you recently mastered, Kakashi? How did Uchiha Sasuke manage to master it too?”

Kurenai, Shizune, and Guy all turned to Kakashi, their faces filled with surprise. They knew that Kakashi had mastered Purple Lightning after observing Darui and Raijin’s battle during the second phase of the Joint Chūnin Promotion Exam. It made sense for Kakashi, the renowned Copy Ninja, to master it, given his long-standing study of the Single Chakra Nature Transformation of Lightning. But for Sasuke to have mastered it in just a month was astonishing.

Kakashi scratched his head and responded, “Well, I tried to teach it to Sasuke, and, well, he kind of just picked it up… He’s really talented, isn’t he?”

The Jōnin instructors were left speechless.

Meanwhile, the Genin from Sasuke’s class erupted in surprise upon seeing him use the ‘Purple Lightning’.

Naruto, with his hands behind his head, grinned proudly and said, “Haha, I knew about this secret a few days ago!”

Naruto and Mika had visited Sasuke in the hospital earlier, where Sasuke had mentioned mastering ‘Purple Lightning’. However, Mika had told Naruto to keep it a secret, so he hadn’t talked about it much until now.

At the Arena

Rumble…

Two streaks of lightning—one purple, one white—intertwined, emitting a thunderous roar. The clash of lightning was so intense that it outshone the sunlight overhead, illuminating the faces of everyone in the audience even through the curtain of Four Purple Flame Formation. The brilliance was overwhelming, and even Sasuke who was standing at the center of the arena had to avert his eyes for a moment.

As the light faded, Sasuke immediately glanced at Raijin, wondering, ‘Is it over?’

His latest attack had been a refined version of his ‘Chidori’, using the extended ‘Chidori Stream’ combined with a strike of ‘Purple Lightning’. Coupled with the carefully arranged steel wire mesh to guide the current and bind his opponent, it was a deadly strategy—one that should be nearly impossible to escape without space-time ninjutsu.

As the smoke cleared, Raijin’s figure came into view. Sasuke grinned, ‘Success!’

Raijin stood there, wrapped tightly in Sasuke’s steel mesh, his body emitting green smoke from the electric shocks. His robe was singed in several places with visible scorch marks.

‘Tou-san, I did it!’ Sasuke thought, a surge of elation filling his chest. He could already picture the moment when he would torment Raijin and reclaim his father’s eyes.

But just as Sasuke prepared to step forward to remove Raijin’s mask and pluck out his father’s eyes, he heard a series of sharp sounds.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The specially reinforced steel wires binding Raijin snapped one by one. With little effort, Raijin broke free, brushing off the remnants of the mesh. “Impressive setup, but it’s just flashy and lacks enough power,” Raijin scoffed and added with a grin, “Not to mention… Lightning Style is kind of useless against me…’

“You…!?” Sasuke was stunned. He had never imagined that Raijin would emerge unscathed from such a well-executed attack.

Raijin dusted off his clothes casually and slowly walked toward Sasuke, smirking. “Come on, Uchiha genius, I’m not done having fun yet!”

Feeling Raijin’s overwhelming presence approaching him, Sasuke’s anger flared. ‘Damn it! How dare he underestimate me!’

With a sense of urgency, Sasuke quickly formed hand signs and shouted, ‘Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!’

A massive fire dragon roared to life, lighting up the battlefield as it charged toward Raijin.

Boom!

The Fire Dragon Jutsu collided with the ‘Four Purple Flame Formation’ that separated the battlefield from the stands, causing a thunderous noise. Smoke filled the area, and Sasuke’s Sharingan spun wildly, his three tomoe scanning the surroundings. Beads of sweat appeared on his forehead as he muttered, “Where is he?”

Suddenly, a mocking voice came from behind. “Are you looking for me?”

Sasuke’s heart raced. Startled, he instinctively swung his kunai as he turned, slashing toward the voice. But before he could complete the motion, his arm was caught in a vice-like grip. A moment later, his other arm was restrained just as forcefully. In an instant, both arms were completely immobilized.

Sasuke froze for a split second before struggling fiercely, trying to break free from Raijin’s grasp. To his shock, Raijin’s strength was far beyond what he had anticipated. No matter how hard he tried, Sasuke couldn’t break free.

“You’re asking for it!” Sasuke growled, his anger surging. He locked his eyes on Raijin’s, the three tomoe in his Sharingan spinning rapidly as he attempted to cast a Genjutsu.

Bang!

Before their eyes could meet, Raijin yanked Sasuke’s arms downward. Sasuke, thrown off balance, crashed chin-first into Raijin’s knee. The impact sent a wave of pain through his body, causing him to cough up blood as dizziness overtook him.

As Sasuke crumpled to the ground, Raijin placed a foot on his face, pinning him down. Leaning in close, Raijin sneered into Sasuke’s ear, his voice dripping with mockery, “You? A pathetic boy like you wants revenge?”
