Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan
Chapter 1124: Hyuga Neji vs Raijin VIBang!
A loud crash echoed as Raijin’s kick connected, sending Neji flying across the arena like a rag doll. He smashed into the walls, creating several cracks and kicking up a cloud of dust.
Thud!
‘Is it over?’
Everyone in the audience was taken aback by Raijin’s sudden burst of speed, wondering if the fight had ended with that attack.
On the other hand, after sending Neji flying, Raijin stood where he was, with lightning flickering around him as he waited. He knew that kick alone couldn’t defeat Neji, thanks to the Byakugan Chakra Mode, which protected Neji’s body from external damage to some extent. Even if the kick had connected, it wasn’t enough to knock him out.
Sure enough, only moments later, Neji emerged from the dust.
Cough, cough!
He coughed up blood, and a swollen mark appeared on his cheek. The Byakugan Chakra Mode had protected him from a total knockout, but Raijin’s attack was still strong enough to leave him injured.
Observing the young Hyuga, Raijin grinned. “So… you didn’t lose consciousness, huh?” he said. After a brief pause, he added, “It looks like you’ve really improved that imperfect Jutsu since last time…”Neji didn’t reply. He watched Raijin silently, thinking, ‘How did he suddenly increase his speed? He shouldn’t have been that fast…!’
Zzzzz…
“How am I so fast? Is that what you’re wondering?” Raijin’s words echoed in Neji’s ears. The figure of Raijin, who had been standing a short distance away, vanished in a burst of lightning and reappeared beside him in the blink of an eye.
‘How?’ such a thought lingered in Neji’s mind as he heard Raijin from behind him. ‘A Clone Jutsu…? No! That doesn’t seem to be the case as the one in the front has disappeared… he really is… faster!’
Bang!
Once again, Raijin kicked Neji in the face, sending him crashing into the arena’s wall. Though injured, Neji, yet again, emerged from the dust, battered but still standing.
Raijin shrugged at the sight. “If that’s the case… let’s keep doing this,” he said, then vanished in a burst of lightning.
“Not so fast!” Neji shouted, pouring all his chakra into boosting his speed and power. He blocked Raijin’s incoming kick with both hands.
Bang!
The ground cracked beneath Neji’s feet as he was driven back, but this time he wasn’t sent flying—only pushed back slightly.
“Haah… Haah…” Neji panted, gritting his teeth as he pushed Raijin back.
Surprised, Raijin said, “Oh… you managed to block my kick this time.”
Neji replied calmly, “I can see it, you know…”
“See me?” Raijin asked.
“I can see how you suddenly got so fast,” Neji said, focusing on Raijin’s chest with his Byakugan. He could see Raijin’s lungs expanding and contracting, letting him breathe in more oxygen, along with his heart pumping more blood into his body.
“Oh… that,” Raijin murmured with a chuckle.
“It’s the same technique that Sunagakure ninja used against Naruto. How… how can you use it?” Neji asked doubtfully.
“Isn’t the answer obvious?” Raijin shrugged. “I copied him. I liked that technique—I thought… ‘hmm, this would fit my fighting style and is exactly what I needed to get stronger.’ So, I copied him… simple, right?”
“Is it really so simple?” Neji muttered in disbelief. He had seen Shira use that technique, and it definitely wasn’t as easy as Raijin made it sound.
Not wanting to explain further, Raijin reminded him, “Are you sure you should be asking about that right now? You’re burning through your chakra. Do you really want to waste time in conversation?”
Neji smirked. “What about you? Are you sure you should be talking to me instead of watching your surroundings?”
“Hm?” Right after he spoke, another Neji emerged from the dust behind Raijin and struck at his back with a palm attack.
“Oh… so you left a Shadow Clone behind when you crashed into the wall the second time, huh?” Raijin murmured, quickly deducing Neji’s move. Without hesitation, he intensified the lightning around himself, whirled around at lightning speed, and attacked the second Neji.
Poof!
The Shadow Clone, not protected by the Byakugan Chakra Mode, had no chance to withstand the blow and vanished in a burst of smoke. The smoke engulfed Raijin completely, blocking his vision.
‘This is the moment!’ Neji thought. Running low on chakra in his Byakugan Chakra Mode, he saw Raijin’s back through the smoke and attacked with all his speed. ‘Gentle Fist: Palm Strike!’
Zzzzz!
Bang!
Whoosh!
A loud bang rang out, yet no one was sent flying. As the smoke cleared, everyone finally saw what happened: Raijin stood with his back to Neji, who remained in an attacking stance. His palm strike hadn’t connected with Raijin; instead, Raijin had grabbed his wrist, while lightning around Raijin’s body began to numb Neji’s own.
Paralyzed by the lightning, Neji struggled to free himself from Raijin’s grip, but Raijin’s hold was too strong.
“That was a clever move,” Raijin said, “but the gap in our strength and experience is too large for you to exploit.” With that, he swung his head back and bashed it against Neji’s.
Bang!
Neji staggered from the head smash, and Raijin used that moment to turn around and unleash several more attacks. For the next few seconds, Raijin brutally beat Neji at a speed the boy couldn’t react, draining the last of his chakra and forcing him out of Byakugan Chakra Mode. Once he lost that protection, Raijin’s blows began to cause serious harm to the boy, opening some wounds and drawing blood.
Seeing Neji’s one-sided beatdown, the Konoha ninjas grew angry at Raijin. Some Genin, like Naruto, were boiling with fury. If not for the experienced Jonin like Kakashi, Guy, Asuma, and others holding them back, they would have already charged into the arena.
“Kakashi-sensei… let me go… I’m going to kick his ass!” Naruto yelled, struggling against Kakashi’s grip. His whisker marks began to thicken, but Kakashi refused to release him—especially now, worried that Naruto might lose control and let the Nine-Tails take over.
While restraining Naruto, Kakashi glanced at the VIP seats, looking at ‘Kuroto.’ He could see a few traces of concern in ‘Kuroto’s’ eyes, it’s just that his overall expression was a bit difficult to read even for him, and all he could do was wonder silently, ‘What are you trying to?’
Back in the arena, when Neji no longer had any strength left to continue fighting, Raijin grabbed his wrist as a pivot, spun him around, twisted his arm behind his back, and put him in a choke hold with a kunai pressed against his neck. Smirking, Raijin pointed towards the VIP seats and said, “So… in the end, it doesn’t even matter. I was right all along, wasn’t it? You really aren’t worth as much as you think you are. That’s probably why your so-called Sensei isn’t reacting to your defeat, isn’t it? He doesn’t care at all, does he?”
Neji bit his lip in frustration, “Shut up!”
“Hahaha… if that’s what you want…” Raijin chuckled, delivering a quick chop to Neji’s neck. Neji instantly lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground in defeat.
After finishing him off, Raijin stepped back and looked at ‘Itachi,’ waiting for the match result to be announced.
