Chapter 958 - 958: The Real Monster In The Cygni Continent [Part 1]

A day after Erica and Shana returned to Casimir City…

“Your Highness, the representatives of the Skavari have come again,” said a pretty lady to Princess Laventia, who was currently looking through the window of her room.

“You know what to say. No matter how many times they come, my answer will always be the same,” Princess Laventia replied.

“I have no idea what happened after our failed attempt to kidnap the Sorceress and the Saintess from the Hero Party. Maybe Prince Zorren is still alive, but maybe he’s dead. That’s all that I have to say.”

The princess then glanced at the television, which was currently airing the news of the Cygni Continent.

The Masked Beetle Rider had once again appeared for the third time, saving another group of Wanderers from harm’s way.

Bored, the princess was about to change the channel. But before she could do that, the door of her room burst open, and four Skavari entered with weapons drawn.

“What is the meaning of this?” Princess Laventia asked with a frown.

“It’s really simple, Princess Laventia,” replied the leader of the Skavari, who was a Rank 7 Sovereign. “Either you tell us where Prince Zorren is taken, or we will take you captive.

“Do not think you can get away from abandoning our Prince to save your life. The Skavari are not afraid to go to war, especially against your faction!”

“All of you are mad!” Princess Laventia shouted in anger. “Out of your prince’s lust over a woman, he tried to take her by force. And that is not his only offense. He also underestimated the enemy and got captured instead.

“Do not try to twist the facts, you mongrels! It was you who sought my help in capturing those girls. I was the one dragged into such a mess, not the other way around!”

Princess Laventia might be weaker than the Skavari, but she wasn’t afraid.

Her room had several magic enchantments embedded in items all over it, so she was confident she could stall for time until her subordinates arrived to save her.

But just as the two sides were about to engage in battle, Princess Laventia’s handmaiden cried out while pointing at the television that was airing news just a few moments ago.

“Greetings, Jinns and Majins of Gomorra. My name is Zion Leventis, and I have come to show you something very entertaining.”

Princess Laventia and the Skavari momentarily stopped their quarrel and glanced at the television at the same time.

There, they saw a familiar teenage boy, whom they had all investigated since he was one of the most influential individuals in the Cygni Continent, according to their intelligence.

“A few days ago, Prince Zorren of the Skavari Race tried to kidnap the Sorceress and Saintess of the Hero party,” Thirteen said as he smiled at the camera. “However, he failed and is now my captive.”

The teenage boy then stepped aside, showing the tied-up Skavari Prince behind him.

“I’m sure all of you like to watch the news for entertainment,” Thirteen’s smile widened. “So today, I am going to show you something even more entertaining.”

The Skavari, who were inside Princess Laventia’s room, looked at their prince before shifting their gaze to Zion.

All of them had bloodshot eyes, worried sick about whether their prince was dead or alive.

Seeing him now decreased their anxiety a bit.

However, a bad feeling crept into their hearts, as if they knew something they wouldn’t like was about to take place.

“Let’s interview the Skavari Prince first and ask him about his thoughts on his failed attempt to kidnap my fiancée,” Thirteen said as he moved his microphone closer to the Prince.

However, instead of placing it near his mouth, Thirteen whacked the side of the Prince’s head with the microphone, making the latter grunt in pain.

“Damn you!” Prince Zorren roared in anger. “I’m gonna kill you and that bitc—arggh!”

Thirteen had slapped his cheeks again with the microphone.

This microphone was in no way ordinary—Metatron had deliberately created it for this special occasion.

It was very sturdy, and it magnified the sensation of pain that a person felt after getting hit by it.

Thirteen repeatedly smacked, whacked, and slapped the Prince using the microphone in his hand.

“I’m sorry,” Thirteen said after hitting Prince Zorren’s face nonstop for nearly a minute before he came to a stop.

“I’m a little sick lately, so the microphone keeps slipping from my hands,” Thirteen said, making all the Jinns and Majins watching their television look at him with solemn expressions on their faces.

“Where was I again? Ah, yes. I want to ask if Prince Zorren has any thoughts about his failed attempt to kidnap my fiancée. Well then, what do you have to say for your failure?”

“I’ll kill you!” Prince Zorren shouted angrily. “I’ll kill you! Your family! Your lovers! I’ll kill everyone you care about!”

Thirteen nodded before making a gesture with his hand.

A troll appeared on the screen and put down a big metal bucket filled to the brim with hot coals.

Inside were a few branding irons, and Thirteen picked up one of them with a smile on his face.

“Do you know what this is?” Thirteen asked. “I don’t know if Jinns and Majins have something similar, but here in Pangea, this is called a branding iron. Are you all perhaps wondering what this does? Well, how about a live demonstration?”

Without any bit of hesitation, Thirteen pressed the branding iron on the side of Prince Zorren’s left cheek, making the latter scream in pain.

Half a minute later, he pulled the branding iron back and allowed the camera to zoom in on the Prince’s cheek, which now had the word “Mongrel” written in the language of the Jinns.

The members of the royal family of the Jinns refer to the weak, as well as those beneath them, as mongrels.

So, the moment the members of the royal families of Gomorra saw this scene, some of them drew in a cold breath in fear, while those who hated Prince Zorren laughed in amusement.

“Wait, having only one side of your face branded doesn’t seem right. Yeah, it’s uneven,” Thirteen said as he returned the branding iron in his hand to the metal bucket and picked up another.

Just like what he did earlier, he pressed the branding iron on Prince’s Zorren’s right cheek, making the latter scream a second time.

“Mirror, please,” Thirteen ordered. “I want to let His Highness see how handsome he is right now.”

The teenage boy said those words in a happy-go-lucky manner as if he was just playing a game with a good friend of his.

However, when Prince Zorren saw the branding now etched on his face, a roar filled with anger and frustration escaped his lips.

Without a second thought, he transformed into his Skavari Form, which was at least three meters tall.

However, the binding Thirteen used on him was something Metatron had provided, so it was impossible for Prince Zorren to break free from it easily.

“Oh, finally showing us your true form?” Thirteen chuckled. “You know it’s useless, right?”

Without another word, Thirteen grabbed another branding iron and pressed it on the monster’s waist.

Tied down by shackles and unable to break free, Prince Zorren did the only thing that he could do… scream.

Beads of sweat formed on Princess Laventia’s forehead as she watched this scene.

She knew deep inside that she could have suffered the same fate if she had failed to escape fast enough on that fateful day.

“Your Highness!” The Skavari, who had been tasked to watch over Prince Zorren during his stay in the Cygni Continent, roared in anger, despair, and frustration.

He had seen many crazy creatures in his life that shouldn’t be provoked no matter what, and a glance was enough for him to tell that he was looking at one of them right now.

The teenage boy’s eyes looked amused, but the Skavari Commander had seen those eyes before.

It was the same eyes the Emperor of their race possessed, and whenever he used that gaze to look at someone, that person would suffer a very long and very painful death, making them wish they were dead.

Thirteen mercilessly branded Prince Zorren’s body over and over again, until he ran out of branding irons.

However, the teenage boy didn’t seem to be bothered by it and simply raised his hand.

A troll appeared and gave him a knife that glinted with sharpness.

“Today, I will teach the audience how to skin a giant rat while keeping it alive,” Thirteen said. “Watch very carefully so you will know what to do once you capture a Skavari in the future.”

Princess Aracelle, who was watching this scene inside Zion’s room, had already lost all the color on her face.

Erica, Sherry, and Shana looked at the TV Screen, but all they could see was static, and all they could hear was white noise.

With Metaron’s help, he made it so that only Jinns and Majins could see his live broadcast.

This scene was being shown on all channels in the Cygni Continent.

But aside from the Jinns, no one else could see the brutal punishment that Thirteen was administering to the person who dared to touch his reverse scale.

“What are you seeing, Aracelle?” Erica asked.

The Princess shook her head because Thirteen had banned her from sharing whatever she was seeing with his lovers.

His act of cruelty was only meant for his enemies, as well as those who had designs against him and the ones close to him.

Thirteen used Prince Zorren to make an example, giving Jinns an idea of the fate that would befall them if they were captured by him.

Princess Aracelle and Princess Laventia wouldn’t forget this day, for this was the time that the Jinns found out who the real monster in the Cygni Continent truly was.
