Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 2622: Prelude To Departure

Lin Mu looked at his companions and thought about those who were missing, such as Chong Fa and Mei Nienzhen.

Chong Fa had returned to his clan after bringing glory to them, while Mei Nienzhen had also returned to her own clan. Lin Mu reckoned that she couldn't bring herself to say goodbye, though his friends knew that she was simply too embarrassed to do so.

"I'll meet you once I have settled things in the clan. I'll also get to searching for the location of the Clan Seal and look for clues about your 'commissions,'" Lady Kang spoke.

"I'll look forward to it," Lin Mu said with a nod.

They chatted for a few more minutes before a guard entered the hall.

"My lords, the Teleportation Array is ready for you," he informed.

"Very well, let's head there," Lin Mu said as they left the hall.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the Cross-World Teleportation Array of the Capital. Hundreds of formation masters were present, working on the array, while the Imperial Formation Grandmaster spearheaded the operation.

The Formation Grandmaster approached and greeted them before speaking.

"To get to the Silent Lotus world, you have two worlds to pass through first: the Jui World and the Osteri World. I believe Daoist Chu and Monk Hushu already know the route, so I'll let the two of them guide you," the Formation Grandmaster stated.

"Thank you," Lin Mu said to the man as he turned toward the glowing array.

"Safe travels," Crown Prince Feng Shun and the others said as the group stepped into the array.

Of course, unbeknownst to everyone, there was a fourth figure present, invisible to all.

Though Lin Mu could sense her presence behind him.

"I'm here," the Saintess assured him.

"Hmmm," Lin Mu hummed in response and signaled for them to activate the array.

"Activate!" the Formation Grandmaster ordered.

"Activating the Cross-World Teleportation Array! Destination: Jui World of the Western Immortal Court Territory. Estimated time of arrival: one month and three days," the Formation Masters announced.

"All parameters within stable limits."

"Opening the Teleportation Gate!"

HUALA

In the next second, the array grew brighter, and a blinding light filled the eyes of Lin Mu, Daoist Chu, and Monk Hushu. They felt their bodies becoming weightless as a flurry of colors filled their vision.

HONGLONG

Then, in the next second, they disappeared into nothingness, leaving behind the glow of the array's runes.

Sigh

"He's gone," Lin Mu's companions muttered, wishing him well in their hearts.

The trio found themselves within a translucent sphere and could clearly see each other.

"This is so much more stable," Lin Mu said as he felt almost no different from standing on solid ground.

"Of course, this is a very stable Teleportation channel, and it has been used many times. It's completely unlike the other Teleportation arrays we've used before," Daoist Chu replied.

Just the fact that they could speak to each other normally was a testament to the stability. In the other Teleportation channels, it was very difficult to talk, as their voices wouldn't transmit through the air.

They could only talk if they were very close to each other or if they used Communication Jade slips to message one another.

Even the sphere they were in was a special Isolation Array that ensured their safety within the Teleportation channel. It wasn't necessarily needed, but it certainly provided them a quality-of-life upgrade.

"So how long is our overall travel time?" Lin Mu asked.

"Well, to get to the Jui World will take a little over a month, as you heard. Once we're there, we'll have to go to another location to take the next Cross-World Teleportation Array," Monk Hushu informed. "From there, we'll go to the Osteri World, which will take anywhere from two to three months, depending on the status of the Teleportation Channel," he added.

"It's not as stable as this?" Lin Mu asked, noticing that the time seemed to vary.

"The distance between Osteri World and the Silent Lotus World is three times as much as the total distance we're covering between the Ros Sky World and the Osteri World. As such, the Teleportation channels need to be adjusted," Monk Hushu answered.

"It won't take longer than that, will it?" Lin Mu inquired.

"Well, it is possible if the space is a bit turbulent, but it won't exceed six months. Anything more than that, and they'll shut down the route as it would be too unstable for safe travel," Daoist Chu spoke this time. "We've taken this route at least ten times before, and the last time we took it, it took us five months because the channel was chaotic," he added.

"I seeā€¦" While the travel time seemed long, it was still nothing to immortals.

Not to mention, they were within the isolation arrays, so they could simply spend their time cultivating. Of course, they wouldn't be able to absorb Qi from the air, but they could still use their resources.

Everyone had restocked on more than enough supplies before leaving, so there was no problem with that.

Additionally, Lin Mu had more opportunities to observe the Void now and improve his spatial compression techniques.

After a few minutes of chatting, he activated his spatial perception and looked beyond the walls of the channel, the vast expanse of the void revealing itself to him.

'The Great Void,' Lin Mu recognized.

To a normal cultivator, all the void might look the same, but to the trained eye of a spatial master, they could differentiate it based on the Spatial Energy present in the void.

Lin Mu could spot hundreds of streaks of wild Spatial Energy in the distance. Some of it crashed into the debris floating around in the void, consuming it, while others rushed through the void, opening tiny rifts that closed up in a fraction of a second.

Such phenomena would never happen in the Lesser Void, showing the dangers of the Great Void.

One could only imagine what was hidden within its vast darkness.
