Chapter 1571: Exodus

“With how much of a difference there is between an intact stator and a one built from parts, I suppose you now have a rough idea for the future power grid in mind?”

“Although we wouldn’t be able to make sure we’d have electricity available all the time, we’d at least have access to it whenever we need it. Plus, we’ve yet to check out how much power one of the alternators could output.”

With the device coming to life after the two changed the contraption’s stator, it went without saying that both Valyr and Ryvrthe were ecstatic to see the effort they put into the endeavor finally come to fruition.

Considering that the reason why they dabbled in electricity in the first place was to power up the device once more, Ryvrthe went ahead and had the young man use the device to learn the Forsaken race’s language.

And just like before, it only took about 10 minutes at most for Valyr to get a brief grasp of what the Forsaken language was like, allowing him to understand Ryvrthe’s words even without the latter resorting to the language he knew.

In fact, it only took a few more minutes for him to fully comprehend the Forsaken language, giving him the ability to speak with Ryvrthe in his native language as if he’d been born in Dnal fo Nigiro.

“I guess we can move on to the next step, then,” said Valyr with a smile as he responded to Ryvrthe’s words. “Time for the Forsaken race to return to their rightful home.”

“Indeed.” Ryvrthe nodded in agreement, his eyes faintly glimmering in response to the young man’s statement.

Taking in a deep breath to calm himself down, the man pondered over Valyr’s words a bit more. “Now that I think about it… although you’ve taken the contraption with you, is there any existing infrastructure in place when we head back to Veldanyr?”

“Nope,” replied Valyr truthfully, shaking his head as he gave Ryvrthe a bitter smile. “Well, initially, I was planning to at least get some lodging constructed before I had the first batch come out of the inheritance.”

“I see.” Hearing those words, it did not take long for the man to understand. “Well, no matter. It’s not like we don’t have the ability to make the lodging ourselves, anyway.”

“Glad to hear that.” Though Valyr let out a chuckle in response, he still planned on either asking Julian for help on construction, or use the rewards he received from the kingdom to construct some lodgings for the Forsaken race.

After all, the reason why he bought a plot of land from Julian in the first place was to bring the Forsaken back to where they belonged.

Talking a bit more about their plans they’d enact once they were back in Veldanyr, the two eventually got out of the chambers, finding themselves once more in Dnal fo Nigiro.

“Are you and the Sapient One heading out to Ecalos again?”

Having watched both Ryvrthe and Valyr head out to Ecalos without a care in the world the first time, Vlrvadh could not help but worry for the two of them as he had already encountered some of the dangers that could be found in its deeper parts.

Yet, when they came back from their expedition without a scratch two days later, that concern quickly dissipated, prompting him to recall the words both he and Ryvrthe had said to him the first time they came out.

Seeing that the two of them had come out of the chambers a second time, although he could now rest assured that the two of them wouldn’t put themselves in harm’s way, the man still thought it’d be better if he were to accompany them in their expedition.

“We’re not.” Glancing at Valyr for a bit, Ryvrthe shook his head as he faintly smiled. “Instead, we’re heading somewhere else.”

“Somewhere else?” Hearing those words, a sense of dread briefly washed over Vlrvadh’s body.

Feeling as if they were making a wrong decision by heading there, the man decided to send a message to Valyr about it. “The Sapient One told me you two were going to head to Lanrete Ssyba.”

“I suggest the two of you to not head there at any costs.”

’Lanrete Ssyba?’ Reading the place’s name from Vlrvadh’s message, Valyr glanced at it for a bit before giving Ryvrthe a slight look of confusion.

“Say, Ryvrthe. Do you know where Lanrete Ssyba is?”

“Lanrete Ssyba?” Hearing the place that was mentioned, Ryvrthe looked back at him in slight surprise as he asked back, “Where’d you hear that?”

While the two of them were talking about the place Vlrvadh mentioned to Valyr all of a sudden, Vlrvadh and the other Forsaken looked at both Valyr and Ryvrthe at a complete loss for words.

After all, as far as they knew, the human that entered Dnal fo Nigiro had no knowledge of their language whatsoever.

Yet… why was he able to converse with their leader as if he were born and raised here from the start?

“Er… excuse me,” Although he found it somewhat rude to interrupt their conversation, Vlrvadh went ahead and did so, looking at Valyr with a mix of surprise and confusion. “But… when… did you learn our language?”

“When did I learn your language?” Repeating the man’s words back to him, Valyr glanced at Ryvrthe for a bit, who quickly responded with a slight shrug of his shoulders.

Seeing as he was telling him to make an excuse up on the spot, the young man forced the gears in his mind to turn as he calmly replied, “Remember the last time I met up with you?”

“It was around that time I started learning your language.” Saying those words, he let out a chuckle.

“And it seems that my efforts have paid off well.”

While Ryvrthe was firmly nodding in response to the excuse Valyr came up with, Vlrvadh and the others continued to look at the young man with shock and disbelief.

…Only for it to turn into excitement not long after.

“What’s the outside like?”

“Is it safe on the surface?”

“Are you Dnal fo Nigiro’s savior?”

Unsurprisingly, with Valyr showing them that he was now capable of speaking with them, the hesitation the Forsaken had towards talking with him had completely disappeared.

Instead, they began to bombard him with questions about the surface of the inheritance, as well as the outside world that existed beyond the inheritance.

Knowing that their questions would be answered sooner or later, the young man decided to make use of the renewed interest towards him to inform more people of his and Ryvrthe’s plans.

“Although I’d be glad to answer all of your questions, it would be better if you obtained the answer for yourselves if you came with me,” said Valyr, causing the crowd to slowly fall silent.

“Not only will you be accompanying the Sapient One as the first batch of Forsaken to return to Veldanyr, but you’ll also be the first batch of your race to return to your rightful home.”

“Now, if you want to return with us to Veldanyr, please raise your hand.”

Sweeping his gaze over the crowd in silence, a wry smile slowly appeared on Valyr’s face as he watched Vlrvadh and the others raised their hands at his words.

Though, as if their initial actions had triggered a wave, the number of people that raised their hand gradually increased to tens, then hundreds, then even more…

In the end, the final number of Forsaken that would accompany Valyr and Ryvrthe back to Veldanyr… was over 1,000.
