Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan
Chapter 1111: Uchiha Sasuke vs Raijin Conclusion“You!? Cough… Cough…” Sasuke coughed up blood, his expression filled with shock and disbelief.
“Boy, you still have much to learn,” Raijin said calmly as he yanked his arm out of Sasuke’s chest, dispersing the lightning wrapped around it.
Plop!
The moment Raijin pulled his arm out, Sasuke grunted in pain. His strength drained away, his legs gave out, and he collapsed to his knees. Drip… Drip… Blood dripped onto the ground, and Sasuke still couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Poof!
Suddenly, Sasuke heard a faint sound and realized that the Raijin behind him had disappeared. Meanwhile, the one standing in front of him was steadily approaching.
As Raijin walked toward Sasuke, he spoke, “You may have awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, but that doesn’t mean you’re strong enough to defeat me. Right now, you can’t even use those eyes to their full potential.”
Sasuke, still in shock, weakly asked, “When did you…?”
“Why not think about it in the hospital?” Raijin chuckled before vanishing and zapping in front of Sasuke and smashing his fist into Sasuke’s chest, bang! The punch, combined with the wound from Raijin’s Shadow Clone, was too much for Sasuke, and he lost consciousness, collapsing to the ground.
“Only a fool would fight a Mangekyō Sharingan user head-on,” Raijin muttered, raising his hand in victory.Raijin had turned the tide of the battle in an instant, defeating Sasuke, who had just awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. It wasn’t by chance—he won because of his deep understanding of the Mangekyō Sharingan and the strategy he had planned from the very start.
As soon as Sasuke had activated his Mangekyō Sharingan and stirred up a lot of dust in the arena, Raijin used the cover to sneak a Shadow Clone underground. Thanks to Kakashi’s proficiency in both Lightning Style and Earth Style, Raijin had used an Earth Style jutsu to hide the clone beneath the arena, anticipating a scenario like this.
Though Raijin wouldn’t claim to be the most knowledgeable person about the Mangekyō Sharingan, he was confident in his grasp of its strengths and weaknesses. He knew that the visual prowess of a newly awakened Mangekyō Sharingan was unstable, and its use placed a tremendous burden on the user.
Anyone just awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan can’t fully comprehend that, while it grants immense power, it also comes with a heavy toll. New users struggle with the strain it puts on their bodies, enduring significant pain until they grow accustomed to it. As seen in canon, the more Sasuke uses his Mangekyō, the more discomfort he experiences, with the strain becoming increasingly painful and difficult to bear. Only when the Mangekyō evolves into the Eternal Mangekyō, or the user receives Hashirama Cells does the visual prowess stabilize making it somewhat easier for them to use the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Raijin knew this well, so he never felt truly threatened during the fight. He was confident that Sasuke, recklessly using the Mangekyō so soon after awakening it, would push his body to its limits and collapse under the strain. Although Sasuke lasted a little longer than Raijin anticipated, likely due to his second Dōjutsu, the outcome was exactly as Raijin had planned.
What truly led to Sasuke’s defeat, despite awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, was his belief that he had already deciphered Raijin’s winning tactic and would secure victory as per ‘his’ plan. This overconfidence caused him to subconsciously relax and lower his guard.
This momentary lapse would have only lasted for an instant, and if his opponent hadn’t been Raijin—who was patiently waiting for that exact weakness to appear—Sasuke might have been able to quickly suppress the discomfort from the Mangekyō Sharingan and regain his composure. Unfortunately for Sasuke, Raijin had specifically devised a strategy to exploit that brief vulnerability.
The thing about Sasuke is that while he is strong and growing stronger, he also has a flaw, which is his tendency to make quick judgments and become overconfident once he believes the situation is under his control. Raijin had anticipated this arrogance and planned accordingly. He exploited Sasuke’s recklessness, his ignorance of the Mangekyō Sharingan’s strain, and that brief moment of weakness. As a result, Raijin defeated him in a way Sasuke never expected.
‘Well, that’s it for this fight… it’s concluded, here…’ thought Raijin as he put down his hand and looked at the stands.
At that moment, an eerie silence filled the colosseum. Apart from the crackling of the burning black flames, no other sound could be heard.
The sudden shift in the arena left everyone in shock—even Itachi, Shisui, Shinichi, and Sasuke’s family, who knew the backstory, were taken by surprise.
…
In the stands.
Uchiha Mikoto stood up as Sasuke lost consciousness, her eyes filled with worry as she stared at her unconscious child.
Fugaku, his eyes tightly shut, suppressed his emotions and spoke in a deep voice, “Sit down, Mikoto!”
“But…” Mikoto began, but Fugaku shook his head, his tone laced with frustration. “This boy is too reckless. How could he be so careless, completely losing himself just because he awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan? He’s making the same mistake I did… It’s good for him to suffer this loss and understand that the world is bigger than he realizes.”
Mikoto hesitated but sat back down. “I don’t know how serious his injury is…”
Fugaku sighed deeply. “When will he be like his brother, and stop making me worry?”

Konohagakure’s Waiting Area
Naruto shouted, “Sasuke!”
Mika’s face was filled with shock. She couldn’t believe that Sasuke, who had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, could lose—and so suddenly!
Neji muttered in disbelief, “How… how could you lose, Sasuke?”
Might Guy, standing beside Neji, couldn’t offer an answer. The turn of events had happened too quickly for anyone to process.
Tsunade, torn between relief and concern, instructed Shizune, “Quick, his injury needs to be—”
“Yui-chan is already on it,” Shizune interrupted, pointing to the group of Iryō-nin led by Yui. They had already arrived and were waiting for the Four Purple Flame Formation to dissipate, as well as the removal of Amaterasu.
Meanwhile, Jiraiya had left the waiting area and rushed toward the arena. He was worried Raijin might try something now that Sasuke was unconscious. Given the uncertainties surrounding Raijin’s background—whether he was connected to Akatsuki, Orochimaru, or something else—none of the possibilities could be ignored. Sasuke had just awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and it wouldn’t be shocking if Raijin attempted to take the young Uchiha’s eyes.
Though it was only a suspicion, Jiraiya knew he had to take precautions to ensure Sasuke’s safety even if their suspicions turned out to be false. Therefore, the moment the Four Purple Flame Formation dispersed, and the black flames were sealed into scrolls, Jiraiya dashed into the arena, arriving at Sasuke’s side, concerned for the injured and unconscious Uchiha.
Soon, the arena became chaotic, with people coming and going in a hurry.
Following closely behind Jiraiya was Kakashi and then the Iryō-nin led by Yui. They rushed to Sasuke’s side, immediately using medical ninjutsu to provide emergency treatment for the seriously injured and unconscious Uchiha.
Meanwhile, the barrier division, having successfully sealed the black flames of Amaterasu inside several scrolls, began repairing the damaged Four Purple Flame Formation array. During the battle between Raijin and Sasuke, the barrier division worked tirelessly to prevent Amaterasu from spreading beyond the formation. However, despite their efforts, the black flames had begun to burn through the formation itself, forcing the ninjas to continuously seal any flames that threatened to reach the crowd.
Luckily, the fight between Sasuke and Raijin ended before the situation got out of control, and the black flames were contained. However, the array of the Four Purple Flame Formation was now severely damaged and charred beyond repair. The team needed to set up a new array to ensure the formation could be used for the upcoming matches.
Amid the commotion around him, Raijin, still standing in the arena, breathed a sigh of relief. Without drawing attention, he quietly left the arena and returned to Amegakure’s waiting room.
And watching Raijin Walk back towards Amegakure’s waiting room both Jiraiya and Kakashi had a solemn expression on their faces.

Iwagakure’s Waiting Room
Kurotsuchi murmured to herself, “Raijin actually won…”
Deidara squinted, watching Raijin’s back as he walked away, and muttered with a playful expression, “This Raijin must have fought a Uchiha before… and that Uchiha must have had the Mangekyō Sharingan.”
Hearing Deidara’s comment, Kurotsuchi was puzzled. “What do you mean? How can you be so sure?”
Deidara replied, “Because I’ve fought the Amatsukami’s female Homusubi… I recognize this feeling. Unless you’ve faced someone with the Mangekyō Sharingan and survived, you wouldn’t be able to handle things like that. Raijin’s performance throughout the fight—he acted as if he had everything under control. Even when Uchiha Sasuke awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan and used his Dōjutsu, Raijin didn’t flinch. He seemed prepared for it all. That kind of calm isn’t something you’d expect from someone inexperienced… he must have fought against Uchiha before.”
“Really? Is that so?” Kurotsuchi was surprised by Deidara’s reasoning.
…
Kumogakure waiting room
Shee was stunned. “How could this happen? An Uchiha who awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan lost in a one-on-one fight like that?” It was widely believed that the Uchiha almost never lost in one-on-one battles, and if you’re facing one, you need an ally. But in Sasuke vs. Raijin’s case, Raijin had no backup, yet he still won against Uchiha Sasuke. Granted, Shee, who had seen Raijin’s true abilities during the second phase, knew Raijin was unlikely to be easily defeated. Even so, he expected a much tougher fight. But Raijin seemed to have everything completely under control, which was quite shocking for Shee.
Darui pondered the battle for a moment, replaying the events in his mind. He tried to imagine himself in Raijin’s place and how the fight might have gone. After a while, he shook his head. “Raijin is probably… no, not probably—he’s definitely better than me.”
